KGB (is our second anniversary beer (We just celebrated our sixth anniversary though). We decided to sponsor the winning home brewer each year at the Aurora Brewing Challenge. The winner gets to pick a recipe which we then have Alley Kat brew commercially. Last year was Heatseeker Coconut Curry Porter. This year, Bruce Sample chose KGB. Named also for his buddies Glen and Kevin, with whom he brewed in the past.

Dark brown body pretty much black with a massive thick crown, so very thick, you know the kind of cap you can sculpt with.very mild aroma the smell is smellless…………mild coffee, some alcohol in the nose but all very mild. Taste is light for the style but yummy. Thick and chewy with a creamy finish. Nice light chocolaty/coffee malts with a mild bitterness with no trace of the 10%. Alley Kat has created possibly the lightest most drinkable Imp. Stout on the market but saying that a imp. Stout should not be this light. Earthy tastes are now working there way through to. Great brew and for the price its awesome.
