This beer is a Belgain-style IPA that is brewed with a combination of pale, pilsner, and wheat malts. It is hopped in the brewhouse and dry hopped in the aging tank with German Hallertau Blanc hops. This gives the beer a strong but pleasant bitterness and an aroma of grapes and fruit. A Belgian yeast strain is used and this imparts a fruity and estery aroma. The result is a pale IPA that blends the unique flavors and aromas of the hops with the fruity and phenolic Belgian yeast.

    Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9

Pours hazy apricot with a thick and rather persistent eggshell head. Aroma delivers yeasty, tropical fruit, fresh malt, resiny hop and subtle wheat notes. Flavor ups the hops level quite a bit and injects more fruit character and a touch of grass for a lip-smacking IPA-esque Belgian(or is it a Belgian-esque IPA?) that will have you hoping Abita survives for a 40th, 50th, 60th and more anniversary - let’s hope they find new facilities in order to escape rising ocean levels thanks to climate change. Full, smooth mouthfeel features plenty of lively fizz. Long live Abita! Long live genuine craft beer!
