(512) Double Pecan Porter is a robust porter accented by locally grown roasted pecans and subtly enhanced by aging in recently emptied oak whiskey barrels. For the first ever bottling, only one 200L barrel was bottled. Notes of chocolate, coffee and pecan marry with the subtle flavors of vanilla and whiskey to make this a wonderful winter warmer worth sharing and savoring. We sincerely hope you enjoy every sip.

Good use of pecan here. Flavor and aroma really nice...the feel is a little light and prickly for the style, but otherwise this was a nice blend of roasted malt, whisky, and pecans.

This was disappointing .. . brown, light head but good lacing .. . light maple, wood, and tartness .. . umm, i don't know what happened here- thin, tart, and only hints of whiskey and molasses .. . i heard that the bottles were great for a couple of months and then started to do this.. . the CIA put a chip in my head!!

I read about this one on (512) website and went out to find it. Aroma of whiskey, vanilla, and roasted nuts. A thick viscous black body with a thin dark brown cap, mouthfeel was thick and smooth. Flavor was dominated by the wiskey and its attributes, such as sweet vanilla, alcohol was present but not overwhelming. Overall this a bit heavy on the whiskey, the pecan porter base was hidden by it, however i really enjoyed this and would certainly buy more. Re-review 7-17-2014. Opend a 750 ml bottle from 2013 last night, the biggest difference i noticed was a rich chocolate aroma that carried over into the taste. Prickly mouthfeel from the carbonation. The whiskey was still a bit much in my opinion, but still pretty darn good.
