A golden ale is a delicate balance of malt and hops. To achieve this perfect balance, the ratio of malt to hops in the Golden Number Ale is based upon the actual golden number, the Fibonacci Sequence, or Phi as the Greeks knew it. This number's pervasive appearance throughout nature creates a sense of balance, harmony and beauty in art, architecture, composition, space - and now beer! Some believe this number is a universal constant of design, the signature of God. (Some believe it is a perfect ratio of malt and hops.) And for most of you playing along at home, the actual number is 1.6180339887.....

It comes out a translucent golden color with a white head. Aroma is crisp and malty with a fruity hint. Flavor is crisp, malty, and subtly sweet; there is just a touch of hoppy bitterness. Overall, not complex or outstanding, but refreshing. Probably a good choice for people who prefer simple lagers.

Bright fruity citrus rising over a sweet graininess in the aroma. Lightly sweet, mostly malt on the tongue. Slight lingering graininess or sweet wortiness in the finish.
