Did you just order a $5 Kölsch? That’s a beer…malt, water, hops and yeast. That’s five dollars? You don’t put no burbon in it nothin’? No. Just checking. Damn…this is a pretty good beer! But Pulp Fiction quotes aside, this is a beer with a cause. Named for our friend and co-worker, Frank Tate, who is currently fighting cancer, two dollars of proceeds from every beer sale of this Kölsch will be put aside to help his fight. It’s a worthy cause for a more-than-worthy guy. Native to Köln Germany, this is a unique light, crisp but flavorful German Ale. In Köln, they drink it in little 0.2 liter glasses and they drink it fast. Ours is brewed in the traditional style with imported Kölsch yeast, a touch of Vienna and wheat malt and Hallertau hops giving a light, quenching mouthfeel with a delicately bitter finish.
