Not sure what I was expecting based on the label but what was inside was a big ol beer. A pretty vibrant and sweet nose to a darker amber beer that looked decent in the glass. Flavor was big, lots of breads, sweet caramels, booze and hops. Not a messy combo either, it all worked pretty well together.

No idea what "style" I was partaking in while drinking this, but I dug it. Floral and hoppy, but that's just one part of what was going on. Ample malt As well...caramel, nutty and fruity with a good dose of dates and a bittersweet finish. Nicely done.

pours a dark chestnut brown color with good clarity and small head with a little lacing. The aroma is sweet and malty with a dark fruit character. The taste is strong but balanced with flavor from the dates coming through better than expected. It is sweet, nutty, and slightly toasty with a nice warming finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and low in carbonation.

Mellow Gold Old Ale from this collaboration. Burnt amber pour with a large frothy tan head and heavy lacing. Caramel and fresh breads with a raisin and date fruitiness along with a touch of citrus. Medium bodied and incredibly smooth. Very easy going and wonderful to throw back. Malt forward with a heavy addition of Crystal. Very nice offering.

Aroma is malty and hoppy with a decidedly fruity undertone - almost certainly from those dates. It pours a clear mahogany-amber with a fluffy tan head that doesn’t stick around for too long. Flavor is malty with a fruity note - I definitely got a bit of date - and a hoppy undertone. Firm-bodied texture has quite a bit of tingle and sass. A toast to the Allies!

Sampled on 1/1/2012. This English Strong Ale pours a deep reddish amber color from a 12oz can. Medium to large sized white foamy head, with decent lacing and nice retention. The aroma is caramel, bready, fruity, dates and sweet. A medium bodied English Strong Ale. The malts are caramel. dark fruit and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Nice carbonation. Caramel, fruity and sweet with a definite date flavor at the finish. Very easy drinking beer. A little thin maybe. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
