503 | Unibroue L'Éphémère Pomme (Unibroue L'Éphémère Apple) | Canada | Fruit Beer | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 The beer pours a cloudy gold colour with a white head, after a couple of minutes............you think you have apple juice with the strong up-front aroma of sour apples. The flavour is slightly bitter and sour at the same time suggesting a hoppy, appley finish. |

504 | Unibroue La Fin du Monde | Canada | Abbey Tripel | 4.1
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9 An excellent beer that pours a orange-brown colour with a large bubbly head. The aroma is a complex of malty tones, yeasty tones, and some spiciness. The flavour is very smooth and balanced between the yeasty flavour, and the fruity maltiness. |

505 | Unibroue La Terrible | Canada | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.3
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 An excellent beer. It pours a murky dark brown with a huge light brown frothy head. The aroma is a complex mixture of malt, dark fruit, cloves, nutmeg, and a little bit of hops. The carbonation is almost perfect with this beer. The flavour is malty with some spiciness coming through. |

506 | Unibroue Maudite | Canada | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 La Maudite is a dark brown beer with a tan coloured head that lasts a while. The aroma is a combination of yeasts, citrus fruits, and spices. The flavour is very similar to the aroma with the yeast and malt coming strong, but the finish is nice and spicy. |

507 | Unibroue Quelque Chose | Canada | Fruit Beer | 3.3
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 First of all, I wasn't really sure what to expect from a beer that is meant to be drunk...."hot". Did I invite the tall "hot" blonde from across the hall or what? I finally figured out that you are supposed to 'heat' the beer. So I did, and the sour cherry aroma was 'wow'. The transparent deep red was a beauty as well. The mouthfeel was weak, which I put down to the heating. The flavour was also weak, some maltiness, some sour cherry flavouring, but nothing that would make me want to try this again. |

509 | Unibroue Trois Pistoles | Canada | Belgian Strong Ale | 5.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 The Unibroue Trois Pistoles is one Helluva brew. This is a dark brown beer best served in a tulip glass, the head is off-white, tight, and thin. The aroma is very complex, some roasted malt, and dark fruits are offset by a slight floral hoppiness. The flavour is an explosion. The cherry maltiness comes through with a little spiciness (cloves?). |

510 | Van Diest Fruli Strawberry Beer | Belgium | Fruit Beer | 2.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 Okay, this beer is well rated everywhere but it tastes like an alcoholic fruit drink more than any beer. A bright red pour with a pink bubbly cap that covers the surface. The aroma is candy sugar and strawberry syrup. The flavour is sweet and tart strawberry. Again, what’s the big deal with this one that I’m missing? |

511 | Walkerville Brewery Easy Stout | Canada | Milk Stout | 4.4
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 A small brewery is making a big stout with some big flavours. A solid black beer with thin creamy light brown head that lingers. A huge pop of roasted malt and bitter chocolate notes hits you in the face upon opening while the flavours are a little more subdued, but still the same. Very impressive for a small brewery. |

512 | Weihenstephaner / Samuel Adams Infinium | Germany | Belgian Strong Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 The most expensive beer at the LCBO, anfd aside from the swill, probably the worst. I did not enjoy this at all. The beer poured a cloudy golden-orange with a huge frothy head. Lots of yeast and spice in the aroma, light fruit such as apricot and apple, and hops. Maybe a little too much going on. A coarse champagne palate with flavours of grain, hops, yeast, and citrus. Very dry. |

513 | Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier | Germany | Hefeweizen | 4.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 This is the flagship beer for the world’s oldest brewery and it easily tells the story why the brewery is going strong today. This is one of the prototypical hefeweizens, a hazy light gold beer that pours with a very generous white head. Lots of wheat and spices in the aroma as well as the characteristic banana and bubble gum hints. The flavour is on the sweeter side of the Hefeweizen spectrum and I wouldn’t want it any other way |

514 | Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel | Germany | Dunkel Weizen | 4.7
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 There is something comforting about dark hefes and this beer displays it in all its’ splendour. The pour is a murky amber colour with a huge off-white head. Chocolate is added to the typical notes of wheat, clove and banana making for a pleasant smell. The flavour starts sweet and fruity, but the finish is bitter and chocolatey. |

515 | Weihenstephaner Korbinian | Germany | Doppelbock | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 This is not your typical Weihenstephaner brew. It pours a very dark brown, solid in colour, with a creamy light brown head, not the foamy head of the other Weihenstephaner beers. Aroma is also more complex with chocolate tones, dark fruits, and caramel notes being the first onslaught on the senses. The flavour is well balanced between malty sweetness and hop bitterness, with neither the sweet or bitter being overpowering |

517 | Weihenstephaner Vitus | Germany | Weizenbock | 4.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 I live in hope that someday a Canadian brewery can make a Weizenbock as good as Vitus. A hazy straw beer with plenty of white frothy head. Wheat, banana, cloves and bubblegum are the primary players in the aromatic side of things while the sweet and spicy malt backbone make up the flavour. A well made beer that hies the excess alcohol that comes with a bock. |

518 | Wellington Against The Currant | Canada | Fruit Beer | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Part of a new Wellington Mix-Pack. Against the Currant is a ‘Kettle Sour’, these are all the rage in Ontario right now. The body is gold with pink hues, some slight haze, and minimal white head. Aroma is a mix of yeast and sweet wild berries. A bit misleading. The berries become tart on the tongue however giving the sour its’ true identity. |

519 | Wellington Arkell Best Bitter | Canada | Bitter | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Arkell is an area south of Guelph that managed to get a beer named after them. Not a lot of people live there, and similarly, not a lot of complexity to this beer, but then, it’s an English Bitter so that’s no surprise. The beer pours a dark gold colour with brown hints, very light for a Bitter, with a thin foamy white head. Aroma is nutty with hints of floral hops and caramel. Flavour is quite malty with notes of caramel, and a bitter hop finish. If Arkell was bigger, maybe they could brew a better bitter. |

520 | Wellington County Dark Ale | Canada | Amber Ale | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 A staple of the Wellington Brewery going back to the 90s. A dark brown body, although translucent when held up to a powerful light. Head is thin, light brown, and creamy. Caramel and nut tones dominate the aroma, although weak notes of chocolate are present. The flavour starts out sweet and malty, but then reality sets in and the finish is quite bitter. |

521 | Wellington Digger's Wit | Canada | Witbier | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 In a lot of ways, Witbiers are so yesterday, but at the same time, a good witbier can be quite refreshing. This beer pours a very hazy light yellow colour with a thin white head. Aroma is quite spicy with notes of wheat and yeast. Far more spicy than a Hoegaarden. A lot of yeast and spice in the flavour. Not refreshing, but is tasty. |

522 | Wellington Helles Lager | Canada | Helles / Dortmunder | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 A new beer in the Wellington lineup, German style lagers are always welcome in my book. This beer pours a shiny light gold colour with a little haze, and a foamy white head. Not a lot of head retention though. Nice grainy malt aromas and herbal hops. Typical of the style. This is not a well balanced beer though, more malt forward than a true German Helles. |

523 | Wellington Imperial Russian Stout | Canada | Imperial Stout | 3.7
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 One of the oldest, if not the oldest, craft Imperial Stouts in Canada. I’ve had this beer several times because its’ good, but I’m always wondering why it can’t be better. It’s a black beer with a decent creamy light brown head. Lots of dark chocolate and roasted malt in the aroma and flavour but again, there is something missing |

524 | Wellington Iron Duke Strong Ale | Canada | English Strong Ale | 2.2
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 Another of the old guard of Wellington beers, and probably my least favourite of the originals. A solid chestnut pour with a thin creamy light brown head. There are roasted malt and floral hop notes in the aroma, with a tough of yeast and figs. Not a lot of sweetness up front for me, this beer is a bitter beer from the start. |

525 | Wellington S.P.A. (Special Pale Ale) | Canada | English Pale Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 This beer is a pale ale in name only as it’s a solid amber colour with a huge white head. Quite a bit of effervescence. Aroma is weak and almost non-descript. There are bready malts and perfumy hops present, but nothing overpowering. The flavour is bland and non-offensive but nothing that makes you gag. |
