1 | Belgh Brasse Mons Abbey Dubbel | Canada | Abbey Dubbel | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 The beer is a dark brown pour with ruby hints at the edges. The head is light brown in colour, creamy, and sticks around. Figs and raisins are the dominant aromas with yeast, spices, and roasted malt also present. Maybe a little bit of caramel as well. Like a lot of Dubbels, the beer starts off sweet with notes of nuts and fruit, but finishes bitter as the hops kick in. A good dubbel |

2 | Charlevoix Dominus Vobiscum Double | Canada | Abbey Dubbel | 4.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 A brewery that comes with a great reputation and it should be no surprise that this was a great beer. A dark brown beer, the cap is creamy, brown, and lasts a while. The dominant aromatic is yeast, but there are also hints of dark fruit, plenty of seasonal spices, and molasses. The beer starts out sweet with the fruit and molasses notes, but the finish is mildly bitter. There are notes of yeast. An excellent beer. |

4 | Affligem Dubbel | Belgium | Abbey Dubbel | 4.1
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Part of the LCBO's winter warmer series for 2011. This is an excellent beer...pours a solid reddish-brown colour with a creamy light brown head. Aroma is full of sweet tones, caramel, plums, and sugar. The flavour is on the sweeter side of the spectrum as well, with a dryish finish. |

5 | Augustijn Donker | Belgium | Abbey Dubbel | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 Purchased at Liquor Control Board of Ontario store. Part of a holiday 6 pack. This pours a medium brown colour with red hues and a dark tan head. Toffee, yeast, and figs tingle the aromatic sense. Flavour has notes of nutty malt, caramel, yeast, and spices. The best of the 6 pack. |

6 | Achel Extra Bruin (de drie wijzen) | Belgium | Abbey Quadrupel | 5.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 Tried at a bar. This beer literally blew my mind with how great it was. It poured a reddish-brown with a tan coloured cap that lasted. Dark fruits, caramel, and licorice were the primary aromatic notes with yeast and roasted malt present. The flavour was well balanced with notes of fig, raisins and toffee up front, and yeast and spices in the finish. |

7 | St. Bernardus Abt 12 | Belgium | Abbey Quadrupel | 5.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 I've had the opportunity to try both this beer and the exalted emporer of them all the Westvleteren 12.............and while it's close...I prefer this as the real King of Beers. A dark brown beer with a yeasty smell and a tan coloured head that lasts longer than the Vietnam war. The mouthfeel is creamy, full, and the perfect hint of CO2. The flavour is heaven. The monks really know how to do it! |

8 | St. Bernardus Abt 12 Special Edition (60th Anniversary) | Belgium | Abbey Quadrupel | 5.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 I was fortunate enough to have a Belgian friend send me a bottle of this, and after trrying it, he instantly became my best friend (I haven'ttold her yet). This is every bit as good as the non-special edition of this brew. Again, I highly recommend if you can still get a bottle...go for it. |

9 | Westvleteren Abt 12 | Belgium | Abbey Quadrupel | 5.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 The so-called Holy Grail of brews. I'm not sure it's as good as their cousin's abbey quadrupel down the street at Brouwerij St. Bernard, nonetheless, it's a mighty fine brew worthy of the acclaim it's been accorded. An excellent sampling of the finest trappist ales one can buy (even if you have to jump on a plane and go to a conference in Belgium to get some). |

10 | Rochefort Trappistes 10 | Belgium | Abbey Quadrupel | 4.9
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 This is an excellent beer, I've always passed over it for some reason or another. Cloudy dark brown in colour, ruby hints at the edges and a thin white ring. The aroma knocked me out....plums, apples, pears, sugar, and sweet malt. The flavour was more of the same. No hint of alcohol (or hops). Heavenly! |

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 The beer pours a hazy/cloudy gold colour with a huge generous fluffy head that comes down quickly. The aroma is predominantly malt and yeast with some citrusy tones present as well as spice. The flavour is that of malt, with some grain and spices to round it out. |

12 | Unibroue La Fin du Monde | Canada | Abbey Tripel | 4.1
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9 An excellent beer that pours a orange-brown colour with a large bubbly head. The aroma is a complex of malty tones, yeasty tones, and some spiciness. The flavour is very smooth and balanced between the yeasty flavour, and the fruity maltiness. |

13 | Chimay Cinq Cents (White) | Belgium | Abbey Tripel | 4.4
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Like the other Chimay offerings, this shows up at the LCBO every once in a while, which is good because it's a treat in itself. Tripels can run the gammut of being a good stroing Belgian blonde, to a wimpy saison. This is the former. Citrus, spices and yeast are what this beer is all about! |

14 | St. Bernardus Tripel | Belgium | Abbey Tripel | 4.9
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 Another true great beer produced from within the brewery walls of St. Bernard. It's a known fact that St. Bernards carry this brew in their casks and not brandy (or at least that is what I want to believe). The beer pours a murky golden brown with the same generous head of the Abt 12. The flavour is more malty than the Abt 12, and a tad less creamy |

15 | Unibroue Eau Benite | Canada | Abbey Tripel | 4.2
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9 This beer pours a hazy straw golden colour with a white head. The aroma is malty, yeasty, and some floral scents. This is a highly carbonated beer. The flavour is malt, some spice, and a nice hoppy finish. Very smooth and very drinkable. |

16 | Unibroue 15 | Canada | Abbey Tripel | 5.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 I believe this beer has been retired. The beer poured a murky orange-gold colour with a thick white head that stuck around. The aroma was a complex combination of yeast, Malt, hops, and some fruity spices like nutmeg and cloves. The flavour is slightly sweet (malts??) with a little hoppy bitterness offset by the clovelike spiciness. |

17 | Unibroue 16 | Canada | Abbey Tripel | 4.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 This beer isn't as good as some of the earlier anniversary issues from the wonderful people at Unibroue. As with some of the others, the beer is a cloudy beer, golden-orange in colour, with a generous head. The aroma was full of malt, yeast, and fruity spices. The flavour mimics the aroma, with a slight acidic bitterness. |

18 | Unibroue 10 | Canada | Abbey Tripel | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This was the first of the anniversary ales if I'm correct and has long since been retired. The beer started off wee as it poured a nice hazy golden brown. The aroma was very complex, sweet malt, some grains, spices, and some fruit. The flavour was also very complex, but less so than the aroma. The flavour had a hoppish bite as well. |

20 | Bockor Omer. Traditional Blond | Belgium | Abbey Tripel | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 A cloudy effervescent golden pour with a thick white cap that lingers on and on. Grains, yeast, and light citrusy notes comprise the aroma with subtle spice notes. The flavour has a malty backbone with a touch of some honey sweetness followed by a bitter dry finish. |

21 | Houblon Chouffe Dobbelen IPA Tripel | Belgium | Abbey Tripel | 4.4
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Part of the 2013 LCBO Summer Release. A huge frothy white head sits atop a cloudy golden pour of beer with lots of floaties. Looks good. Yeast, citrus, and spices dominate the aroma with the herbal hop notes more of an afterthought. The flavour is undeniably tripel-like with yeast and spices coming out on top. Great beer. |

22 | Creemore Springs Altbier | Canada | Altbier | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 New can found at the LCBO, different branding than a typical Creemore beer. Copper coloured beer with a decent head. Aroma is more hoppy than a lot of Creemore products. Flavour tends towards a typical German alt with a nice balance between malt and hops. |

24 | Alexander Keith's Harvest Ale | Canada | Amber Ale | 2.0
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 I have to admit, I actually sought out this beer on the advice of a friend who said it was quite good (he's a craft beer enthusiast). I'm convinced that whatever he was served wasn't this because this was crap. A light brown pour with a weak tan head. Malty aroma with weak toffee tones. Flavour was quite thin, a little on the sweet side, not much else to say. |
