51 | Duvel | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Cloudy yellow appearance with a large head. Aroma is of bananas, lemons, and pears. Flavor is slightly bitter but mostly sour with some citrus fruit and too much peppery spice present. An ok Belgian blonde although I don't typically enjoy them as much as many seem to. I'd prefer a La Chouffe over this one. And this is probably my new Most Overrated Beer, I just don't understand the hype. But to each thier own of course. |

52 | Petrus Oud Bruin / Petrus Old Brown Ale | Belgium | Flanders Oude Bruin | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Aroma is citrusy and nutty. Appearence is a reddish-brown with little to no head. Flavor was a little sour with some cherries and apples coming through. Pretty close to a brown ale in alot of ways with this nutty flavor present. A nice beer but I'm sure many better in this style exist |

54 | Sterkens Hoogstraten Poorter | Belgium | Baltic Porter | 4.2
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Aroma is of raisins, caramel, and chocolate. A solid brown color and probably the lightest colored porter Ive encountered. Flavor is of slight alcohol, nuts, chocolate, caramel, raisins, and toffee. Wow! It has a very "Belgian" flavor if anyone knows what I mean. Great beer! |

55 | Hoegaarden Original White Ale | Belgium | Witbier | 3.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Might I start off by saying I'm not a huge fan of Witbiers. Appearance is strange, very light almost like dirty water. A nice lemon and bread nose. Flavor is clean and refreshing with some lemon, apricots, bananas, and grapefruit. Palate is slightly dry and a little thin. This is a pretty good beer. |

56 | Duinen Tripel | Belgium | Abbey Tripel | 3.0
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Appearance is a bronze color. Aroma is a nice blend of cherries, grapes, and vanilla. Flavor has a nice warming effect with dark fruit flavors and some alcohol noticeable. My complaint with this beer is the metallic aftertaste like it came from a can. This would be an excellent beer if that metallic taste was not present. It tastes like the foil on the outside of the bottle was also part of the brewing process. The Duinen Dubbel is much better. |

57 | Witkap Pater Abbey Singel Ale | Belgium | Belgian Ale | 3.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8 This is a nice little surprise. Aroma is of vanilla, spice, and citrus fruit. Appearance is cloudy yellow. To me this is very similar to a German pilsner in many ways. Flavor is slightly sour. Tastes of oranges, lemons and pears with a creamy mouthfeel. It was only $1 a bottle, so I will be back to pick up more! |

58 | Biere du Boucanier Blonde Ale | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 A dark golden appearance with a large white carbonated head. The flavor contains some lemons, apricots, bananas, with quite a bit of spices. The flavor contains honey, bananas, lemons, and table sugar. A spice presence in the flavor as well. This hides the alcohol really well. The mouthfeel is slightly syrupy. Overall this was a pretty good beer. |

62 | Alvinne Balthazar | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 A dark brown appearance with a beige head. This smells like a Halls cough drop. Well a chocolate covered Halls. The flavor is rather sour with some mint, ginger, chocolate, and nutmeg. The palate was quite watery. Not sure what the goal was here, if it was to make a crazy ass beer that kind of sucks they accomplished that! |

63 | Achilles Serafijn Grand Cru | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 An orange appearance with a carbonated white head. The aroma reminds me of fruit cake with some spices, dark fruit, and orange peel. The flavor contains some peaches, apricot, oranges, and spices. The mouthfeel is a bit sugary and carbonated. Overall I really enjoyed this beer. |

66 | Bornem Tripel | Belgium | Abbey Tripel | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 The bier poured a light murky yellow color with a very large fluffy white head. The aroma is lemony with a nice yeasty overtone. The flavor is somewhat spicy with some ginger and lemons. I also catch some bananas and wheat. The aftertaste is slight sour with a nice soft mouthfeel. Not a Triple that will cause you to dance the gig, but it is pleasent in all its simplicity. |

67 | Gulden Draak | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 This one was a reddish brown color with a mininal head. It smelt like cherries and alcohol. The alcohol really comes through but it doesn’t spoil the experience. A strong cherries and grape flavor. This one was quite sweet and warming. A nice one for a cold night. Overall it was very brandy like and a good one. |

68 | Pauwel Kwak | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Ah I wasn’t impressed with this. It looked like iced tea when it was poured. The taste was similar to lemon iced tea with some caramel notes. This one was thin and watery. There is some alcohol showing through the water. This Kwak is Wack! Boring. |

69 | Affligem Blonde | Belgium | Belgian Ale | 3.2
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 A yellowish orange appearance. A creamy head with some nice lacing. The aroma is....sniff....sniff....almost non-existant. A very mild lemon and dust aroma. The flavor is nothing to write home about either. Quite yeasty and wheaty almost with a hint of bitterness. It leaves a bit of sourness on the tounge. A good beligan lawnmower beer. Refreshing and not complex. Alright by me anyway. |

71 | Augustijn Abbey Ale | Belgium | Abbey Dubbel | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 Last beer sampled on San Diego trip. An amber color with some good lacing. The flavor is fruity and spicy. My palate has been destroyed by big IPA’s all week so I cant taste much at this point. Some alcohol showing through in the aftertaste. Not bad. |
