101 Westvleteren Abt 12 Belgium Abbey Quadrupel 4.8

Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

A very complex and flavorful belgian. Good warming effect with the alcohol. This one is pricey and hard to find, but you must try it at least once in your life.

102 Rodenbach Grand Cru Belgium Flanders Red 4.3

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8

Pours a reddish/brown. Taste is mainly of sour cherries. This is one interesting beer unlike any other Ive had to date. Palate is slighty bitter and very sour. Certainly not one recommended in mass quanities, but sipping on a few of these would make for excellent night of drinking!

I had this with Westy 12. Wow! This is one excellent belgian ale. Dark and complex flavor mainly dark fruit with a slight smokey feel. It hides the high ABV well. Great for sipping. A little costy but hey life is short, so treat yourself every once in a while.

104 Orval Belgium Belgian Ale 3.5

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7

Re-rating this beer and I was harsh at my previous 2.6 rating. Citrus and perfume aroma. Cloudy yellowish/orange appearance with a large head. Flavor has a bitterness quite different than any other I've had. Orange and citrus taste primarily. My palate is more developed now than my first tasting of this. But I can't see this as a leader of the pack Belgian. This is one of those beers that takes a while for some people to appreciate. I am one of those people. Its a good beer but not a great one.

105 Lindemans Peche Belgium Fruit Lambic 4.1

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

A nice lambic. Its one I could drink all night if I were rich. Flavor is peaches and slightly sour. Aroma is a fresh peach orchard. Not alot of alcohol but that's not the issue here. Complex and excellent!

106 Cherish Kriek (Bios Kriek) Belgium Fruit Lambic 3.6

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

A nice lambic but not as complex as many. A dirty brown appearance with little head. A slightly tart flavor with a faint cherry flavor. A decent sipping brew but better lambics exist. Nice though.

107 Bush Ambrée (Scaldis) Belgium Belgian Strong Ale 2.7

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5

Alcohol overkill. Some malts getting thier ass kicked by alcohol. Serious burn on the palate. This beer makes no effort at hidding the 12% ABV. I will make no effort to drink it. A horrible belgian!

108 Achel Blond 8 Belgium Belgian Strong Ale 3.9

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

A golden yellow color with a large head. A very lemony and sugary aroma. The flavor is quite sweet yet sour with lemon drop candies and some peach flavors present. Pretty good stuff.

109 Kasteel Bruin Belgium Belgian Strong Ale 3.7

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Appearance was a nice bubbly dark brown, flavor was of plums, raisins, and a hint of vanilla. Alcohol is very well hidden especially considering the content. A little too sweet. Very rich character.

110 Affligem Dubbel Belgium Abbey Dubbel 4.5

Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9

This is an excellent Abbey Dubbel and may even my best yet. Aroma is chocolate and caramel. Appearance looks about like every other Dubbel Ive had, brownish/red. Flavor is chocolate, caramel, apples, oranges, complex for this style! The balance is perfect as the malt does not dominate. Palate is smooth with no evidence of the 7%. Overall its simple and to the point, no frills, but excellent all the same.

111 Westmalle Tripel Belgium Abbey Tripel 3.7

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Pours a cloudy yellow with a fair amount of carbonation. Some lemon and grapefruit present in the nose. A rather sour flavor with a big citrus flava mainly lemons and oranges and a bit of spice. The alcohol shows through but not too much considering the ABV. All hail the trappist monks!

112 Corsendonk Pater (Abbey Brown Ale) Belgium Abbey Dubbel 4.0

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Dark brown color similar to a brown ale. Excellent belgain. Very malty flavor but enough hops are present. This is a beer I have been overlooking for a while but Im glad I finally gave it a try. Not as complex as many, but certainly as good

113 Delirium Tremens Belgium Belgian Strong Ale 2.9

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6

Aroma is of pears and oranges. Pours with a large bubbly head. Flavor is spicy with some citrus fruit, mainly banana, and a slight alcohol burn. I don't enjoy these belgian blonde ales very much. Overall its ok but I prefer the Nocturnum from these guys much better. This is a so-so belgian brewery with many others at the same cost that offer so much more.

114 La Chouffe Belgium Belgian Strong Ale 4.5

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9

This is my favorite Belgian blonde ale to date. A nice citrusy aroma and a smooth creamy citrus flavor of pears, peaches, and oranges. Hides the alcohol very well. An excellent beer. Rerate - This is even better than I previously thought, a hidden gem, I dont usually like belgian stong ales of the blonde variety but this is amazing. I want to try this with a rich chocolate dessert. WOW!

115 Boon Faro Pertotale Belgium Faro 3.3

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

Dark orange/brown color with a sticky sweet sour apple and candy flavor. After about 6 different samples of Cantillons earlier that evening this one didn't stand a chance. Its a lambic with a sweet tooth basically.

116 Cantillon Bruocsella 1900 Grand Cru Belgium Unblended Lambic 4.1

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Yellow appearance with a no head. Aroma is sharp citrus and musk. Flavor was a blend of lemons, oranges, and apricot. The finish was nice with a tart tinge on the tounge. Yet another great lambic from Cantillon.

117 Cantillon Fou Foune Belgium Fruit Lambic 3.2

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7

Cloudy yellow appearance. Lip pukering sour with apricots and lemons. This was my least favorite of all the Cantillons I sampled. But it is still another good lambic. Enjoyable if not great.

118 Cantillon Lou Pepe Kriek Belgium Fruit Lambic 4.5

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9

Another winner from Cantillon! Bright red appearance. Sour cherries and granny smith apples dominate the flavor. A little more on the sweet side than the Framboise. The beer finish with a tart aftertaste. An excellent fruit lambic!

119 Cantillon Gueuze Belgium Gueuze 4.4

120 Cantillon Lou Pepe Framboise Belgium Fruit Lambic 4.5

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

2001 vintage. This is much different from any fruit lambics I've had in the past. Orangish red appearance. Aroma is sour fruit. Flavor is sour apple and cherry. EXTREMELY SOUR but very good!

121 Sterkens St. Sebastiaan Dark Belgium Belgian Strong Ale 4.2

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

Nuts and dark fruit in the nose. Appearance is brown with a nice head. For a low ABV belgian this has loads of flavor. Grapes, nutmeg, caramel, chocolate, spices, and something slightly sour I cant seem to put a finger on. It's a bit on the carbonated side but that's the only flaw I can find in this beer. Another great beer from Sterkens!

122 La Caracole Nostradamus Belgium Belgian Strong Ale 4.0

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8

A dark red appearance with a large beige head. The aroma is rather mild with some pears and caramel. The flavor is quite fruity with some hints of the alcohol and raspberries. Large yeasty overtones and it has a lambic tyle quality to it. This one is quite complex and tasty. Nostradamus predicts a high rating from Clash, once again he is right!

123 Rochefort Trappistes 6 Belgium Abbey Dubbel 4.3

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Well another Rochefort. The 10 is close to perfect, the 8 was boring but ok, now onto the 6. Well this one is brown in apperance with a moderate head. The aroma is caramel and brown sugar. The flavor is a bit light but very well balanced and flavorful. Some dark fruit and caramel with a backbone of some apricots? Ive had more flavorful dubbels but not many as well crafted as this.

A murky yellow appearance with a moderate white head and some good lacing. The aroma is lemon, spices, and pears. The flavor is a bit on the sour side with a some lemon and apricots. It has a rather soft mouthfeel and a citrusy aftertaste. Quite a nice Tripel here.

125 Pax Pils Belgium Lager 1.8

Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4

Anyway this is pretty dull if you ask me. And since you are reading this I guess you did! Well I can read the text on the monitor through the beer so there goes the apperance points. I smell corn and grass. The flavor is just there. No real saaz hop presence I like in a pils. Very little malt but I catch some adjuncts. Stella is a better choice for a Belgian lager sadly enough. Might as well get some Miller Lite!!! This one is quite forgettable.
