750 ml corked and wired bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 9.0%. Very pale yellow colour, huge white head. Strong fruity, yeasty and spicy (cloves a.o.) aroma. The flavour is spicy with some fruit and white kandij sugar, but the sweetness is nearly too much. Still a good beer, but if it is worth the high price in Norway is debatable.

330 ml stubby bottle, as "Chouffe Houblon Dobbelen IPA Tripel", bought at Købmandsgården, Voldby, Denmark. ABV is 9%. Hazy pale yellow colour, huge and lasting white head. Moderate but nice aroma of floral hops, some fruity notes too. The flavour is distinctly hoppy but not too much, and has also distinct spicy notes of Belgian ale yeast. Bitter finish and aftertaste. The alcohol is well hidden. Good beer!

600 ml bottle, bought at Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 9.0%. Pale yellow colour, big white head. Pleasant aroma of Belgian ale yeast with fruity (citrus) and spicy notes. The flavour is spicy and fairly sweet, alcohol is noticeable, peppery and moderately bitter finish.

500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. ABV is 9.2%. Hazy brownish amber colour, big to moderate white (or slightly off-white) head. Strong sweetish aroma of candy, syrup, Belgian ale yeast and chili, hints of honey. The flavour has sweet notes of malts and Belgian ale yeast, hints of honey and syrup, minimal hops. Not much chili flavour while the beer is in your mouth, but there’s a distinct chili burn in the aftertaste. A bit weird, but well worth sampling.

Bottle, at the Manneke Pis, Tenerife. Served with correct glass. ABV was 11%. Hazy amber to orange colour, moderate white head. Strong sweetish aroma, notes of honey and spices. Spicy medium sweet flavour, hints of honey, quite nice.

Strong sweetish aroma of Belgian ale yeast and a complex symphony of spices, also notes of honey and dark dried fruits. The flavour is fairly sweet with notes of spices, brown kandij sugar, caramel and oak. Good stuff!

Strong sweetish aroma with notes of white candi sugar; Belgian ale yeast and various spices. Moderate carbonation in the glass, but enough to make the beer fresh and pleasant to drink. The flavour is not as sweet as the aroma made me fear, the sweetness is actually well balanced with a fine spiciness and distinct hops in the finish. Nice one!

Some herbal notes, the hops are noticeable. Easy drinking.

Strong sweetish aroma of Belgian ale yeast, white kandi sugar, over-ripe fruits and mild spices. The flavour is sweet with a nice spicness and decent hops throughout, maybe too strong notes of white kandi sugar. Sweet enough to replace a sweet wine with many finer dishes, but has also enough bitterness to avoid being cloying, and retain some refreshing qualities.

The flavour is medium sweet (maybe a tad too sweet), spicy and fruity notes again, hints of alcohol. Moderate hops. Fairly decent, but not the best triple in the world.

A hint of farmhouse too. The flavour is still fairly sweet (maybe too sweet), will probably benefit from a few years’ cellaring. Typical spicy and yeasty triple notes, some bitterness in the finish.

Strong and attractive aroma of spices, Belgian ale yeast and some fruit. The flavour is also spicy and yeasty with some fruit, notes of white kandij sugar, but the sweetness is not too much. Moderate hops in the finish.

Only drawback is that the alcohol is not particularly well hidden, so if you get drunk on this beer, you understand why. Still a beer I’ll be happy to drink again!

Light bodied for its strength, but the alcohol is noticeable. Low bitterness.

Fruity sweet "perfumed" aroma with notes of green apples, some citrus and spices too. Light bodied and refreshing for a 7.3% beer, fruity flavour with green apples and some citrus again, hints of spices and yeast, very moderate hops. Not bad, but I’ve had better.
