Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub, Stavanger. ABV is 3.5%. Hazy and very pale greyish straw colour, small white head dies out instantly. Distinct aroma of lactic acid and citrus zest, hints of ginger and chili. Extremely sour flavour of lactic acid, citrus zest in the background, followed by a vehement burn of habanero chilies and ginger. Sweet Jebus - what a mess! |

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 3 330 ml bottle, as Mont Salève Hors-Série Cerises, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.2%. Gusher bottle. Hazy golden colour (no cherry colour), small white head of poor retention. Aroma of lactic acid, cherries / cherry kernels and marzipan. Very sour flavour, lactic acid galore, notes of sour cherries, lemons and marzipan. Way too sour for me, won't buy again. |

1081 | BrewDog Farmhouse Cartel | United Kingdom | Biere de Garde | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 10%. Hazy brownish-orange colour, moderate white head. Aroma of citrus, hints of flowers, stewed fruits and tequila. Citric and boozy mouthfeel. Flavour of oak / tequila barrel, sweet malts, stewed fruits and peppery bittering hops. Not the best way to treat a biére de garde. |

1082 | Nøisom Limited Edition No 02 Champ Ale | Norway | Biere de Garde | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 14.5%. Clear and deep golden colour, small white head. Aroma of alcohol, yeast, malts, caramel, banana. Sweet flavour (from the alcohol, according to the brewery - they insist on the beer being dry), over-ripe fruits, slightly sour, alcohol. Whatever they have tried to do here, they have not been very successful. |

1083 | Jenlain Biere de Noel | France | Biere de Garde | 3.5
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 June 2013: Shared 750 ml green corked "champagne" bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgaard. Reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate but nice aroma, malts, herbal hops and a hint of caramel. Harmonious flavour, not very sweet, herbal hops, highly drinkable. Better suited to accompany Christmas dinner than its sweeter Belgian counterparts. |

1085 | Castelain Jade | France | Biere de Garde | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Sample from bottle at Copenhagen Beer Festival, as Jade Bière Blonde. I did not take note of the brewery, but thought it was Belgian - but might well be mistaken. I hope I’m rating the the right beer. Pale golden colour. This is an ordinary pilsener / pale lager with a little malts in aroma and flavour, and a slight acidity in the finish. Drinkable, but nothing special. |

1086 | De La Senne Zinnebir X-mas Ale | Belgium | Biere de Garde | 4.2
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8 330 ml bottle, as X-mas Zinnebir, from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. No vintage mentioned on the bottle, so I assume it is 2010, and that this is the same recipe as 2009. ABV is 6.5%. Mahogany colour, huge beige head. Spicy aroma, also notes of dark dried fruits, caramel and brown bread. Soft and rich moutheel. Malty and spicy flavour, some caramel and brown kandij sugar without being too sweet, some roasty notes, well balanced mild Christmas spices, peppery and hoppy finish. Very enjoyable. |

1087 | Abbaye de Vaucelles | France | Biere de Garde | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 750 ml corked bottle, as Abbaye de Vaucelles Bière Blonde Artisanale, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. Front label says 7.5% ABV, rear label says 7% ABV. Golden colour, pours rather fizzy, large to moderate white head. Moderate aroma of malts, hints of spices. The flavour is fairly malty with a moderate spiciness, which saves the beer from being really boring - but the hops are too moderate. |

1088 | Chapelle Northmaen Ambrée | France | Biere de Garde | 3.5

Very cloudy brownish yellow colour, moderate white head. Distinct and pleasant gueuze-like aroma of farmhouse and lemons, also spicy notes. The flavour has a moderate lemony acidity, and distinct hops throughout, rather sharp in the finish. Spicy notes again. "Dusty" finish. Nice enough to drink. |

1089 | Dupont La Bière de Beloeil | Belgium | Biere de Garde | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Shared bottle, RBNAG 2011 in Oslo. Deep golden to amber colour. Main impression of both aroma and flavour is "moderate everything" - but this would probably stand out as a decent saison if sampled on its own, and not in immediate connection with many sours. Decent hops in the finish. |
