7276 | Kinn Knutholmer | Norway | Witbier | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 750 ml corked and wired bottle, courtesy of the brewer. ABV is 4.7%. Brewed exclusively for Knutholmen, www.knutholmen.no . Traditional witbier ingredients. Hazy pale golden colour, huge white head. Typical witbier aroma of coriander, cloves and orange peel - nice. Moderate carbonation in the glass, when the beer finally appears below the foamy head. Soft mouthfeel. Refreshing flavour, notes of coriander, cloves and citrus - but the hops (Northern Brewer and EKG) are too moderate, even for a witbier. IBU is only 15. Still a nice and very drinkable thirstquencher. |

7280 | Ölvisholt Fósturlandsins Freyja | Iceland | Witbier | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 On tap at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Pale yellow / whitish colour. This is supposed to be some kind of witbier, including the traditional ingredients coriander and orange peel - but it is just too modest on everything. Very light bodied, and refreshing enough, without any unpleasant off-flavours. Allegedly "brewed to honour Icelandic women" - I think Icelandic women would have deserved something with more flavour than this. |

7281 | Einstök Icelandic White Ale | Iceland | Witbier | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml bottle, from the taxfree store at Billund Airport, Denmark. ABV is 5.2%, 12.8% Plato. Practically clear and very pale yellow colour, moderate to low white head. Strong aroma of grassy and herbal German or Czech pilsener hops, no sign of this being a witbier. Dry and crisp flavour, now with citrussy notes (lemon/lime rather than orange peel), but still not much witbier character. Refreshing though - my rating is, as always, hedonistic - if I rated by style, the score would be lower. |

7282 | Shock Top Belgian White | United States | Witbier | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 On tap at Oakland Intl Airport. Pale straw colour, white head. Typical witbier aroma and flavour of coriander and citrus / orange peel. Very refreshing, would be happy to drink this again. I suspect that it is underrated due to the ownership of the brewery - I was not aware that this was an AB InBev product, so I rated the beer for what it is. |

This spelt beer is organic (French: "biologique")., and has had a secondary fermentation in the bottle. Very pale blonde colour, hazy. Large and fluffy white head. Yeasty, spicy (cloves a.o.) and citrussy aroma, nice. Spritzy mouthfeel. The flavour is wheaty, fairly dry, notes of citrus and pepper. Not very different from their buckwheat beer "Sara". Joseph is a decent beer, but not worth the ridiculously high price in Norway. |
