7252 | Marks & Spencer Bière Blanche | Belgium | Witbier | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, bought in a store at Cambridge train station, and drunk from the bottle (hidden in the paper bag, of course) just outside the station (I was not arrested). I still had time to notice that the beer was cloudy and pale, like a witbier should be. Aroma and flavour of a decent standard witbier, no worse than Hoegaarden. |

7255 | Lindheim Maskat Wit | Norway | Witbier | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml bottle, batch #488, from Coop Mega Jærhagen, Klepp. ABV is 4.7%. Slightly hazy and very pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Distinct "perfumed" aroma of orange peel, chamomile and coriander (leaves rather than seeds). Citric flavour, again with "perfumed" and soapy notes of chamomile and coriander leaves. I am not a big fan of this one. Won't buy again. |

7257 | Baladin Sud | Italy | Witbier | 1.1
Aroma: 2 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 2 330 ml can, as Birra Baladin Sud, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV 4.5%. Slightly hazy and very pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of wheat and very stale jam / marmalade, not good. The flavour is on the sweet side, again unfresh notes of stale jam and citrus, drainpour. Baladin should be ashamed of this one. |

7267 | Theresianer Wit | Italy | Witbier | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Stylish 750 ml bottle, shared with Tom at Øl & Mat-festivalen, Oslo. ABV 5.1%. Cloudy golden colour, moderate white head. Typical witbier aroma and flavour, notes of coriander and orange peel, hardly any noticeable hops. A hint of diacetyl is not what I want in a witbier. Drinkable, but lacks "bite". Boring. |

7268 | Saint-Germain Page 24 Blanche | France | Witbier | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 750 ml swingtop bottle, from Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. ABV is 4.9%. Some sediment in the bottle, I turned it upside down. Hazy pale yellow colour, huge white head. Strong aroma of wheat ale yeast, notes of coriander and cloves, hints of citrus and banana. The flavour is wheaty and moderately yeasty, notes of coriander and cloves again, while the orange peel is very subdued. Noticeable but very moderate hops. Very refreshing. |

7272 | Løkken Witbier | Denmark | Witbier | 3.2
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV is 4.5%. Cloudy golden colour, big to moderate white head. Moderate wheaty aroma, hints of citrus. The flavour is fairly malty for a wit, with very moderate hops and a hint of citrus, but I don’t think any coriander has been used here. There’s a hint of "traditional homebrew" (maybe a slight infection?) in the finish. Drinkable, but certainly not the best witbier around. |

7273 | De Leckere Witte Vrouwen | Netherlands | Witbier | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 300 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 5.0%. Hazy pale golden colour, big white head. Wheaty and spicy aroma, notes of cloves and coriander (even though coriander has not been added, the spiciness comes from the yeast alone), also notes of over-ripe and decaying bananas. Soft mouthfeel, moderate carbonation in the glass. Clean and very refreshing wheaty flavour, with hints of bananas and a mild spiciness, not too sweet. Moderate hops in the aftertaste. Moreish - one bottle is not enough! |

7274 | Gourmetbryggeriet Blanche | Denmark | Witbier | 2.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV is 5.0%. Crystal clear extremely pale straw colour, moderate white head. Fairly decent aroma of fruity (yes, apricots) and floral hops. The flavour is clean, crisp and refreshing with a moderate sweetness, but the hops are too moderate. The name "Blanche" makes you expect a witbier / bière blanche, but this is just another pilsener - not a bad one, but far from exciting. |
