October 2014: Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting, ABV is 7.5%. Cloudy orange colour (i had the yeast poured in), white head. Aroma of over-ripe berries, also some cheesy notes. Bland and unfresh flavour, hints of over-ripe berries. Not good.

Small sample from 330 ml bottle, as Tongerlo Blond, at Vectura-messe. Pale blonde colour. Light and fresh aroma and flavour, notes of mild spices and a little fruit. Nice and refreshing, will sample again.

March 2017: 250 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 3.5%. Pale straw colour, only slightly hazy, moderate to small white head. Strong aroma of grass and weed, some of it rotting. Refreshing dry flavour with yeasty and mildly spicy notes, also hints of citrus and herbs. Moderate hops.

Aroma of Belgian ale yeast, white kandij sugar syrup, stewed yellow plums and mild spices. The moderately sweet flavour has the same elements, spicy and hoppy finish, decent bitterness. Nice beer.

Aroma of lychee and other tropical fruits, some malts. Nice citric flavour, notes of lemongrass and Belgian ale yeast, hints of dill and lychee. Not very bitter.

Oct. 2020: 440 ml can, from Seven Cellars. ABV is 6.7%. Pale golden colour, only the slightest haziness. Large white head. Aroma of citrus and spicy trappist ale yeast - an unexpected but nice combination. The mouthfeel is maybe a bit thin for its strength. The flavour has again citrus and spicy Belgian ale yeast, also hints of tropical fruits. Slightly sweet start, dry finish - and the bitterness is moderate.

330 ml can, batch #261, from Vinmonopolet Norheimsund. ABV is 5.5%. Moderately hazy pale golden colour, huge white head. Aroma of malts, Belgian ale yeast, mild spices (including coriander and oranges, which are actual ingredients, despite this not being a witbier). Fairly light bodied. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, distinct coriander, also fairly distinct bittering hops.

Lovely strong aroma of fruits and spices (cloves and coriander?). The flavour is distinctly citrussy, followed by spicy notes and a moderate hoppy bitterness. Fairly crisp and dry. Refreshing and very pleasant to drink.

Bottle, 7.5% ABV, RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Orange to amber colour, moderate white head. Nice aroma of Belgian yeast and spices, some woody notes to, hints of leather. OKish flavour, some fruity and spicy notes. Slightly acidic finish.

Strong fruity and spicy aroma, notes of cloves, Belgian ale yeast and alcohol. Fairly rich mouthfeel. Drank it a bit too warm, but the flavour has a decent fruity and malty sweetness with some notes of mild spices and moderate hops in the finish. Pretty good stuff.

Pleasant aroma of fruity and moderately spicy Belgian ale yeast, some Saaz notes of new-mown grass too. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour has also a moderate fruitiness and subtle spiciness, moderate Saaz hops in the finish. Refreshing and highly drinkable.

Nice fruity and yeasty aroma, notes of cloves and other spices. Pleasant flavour, spicy and moderately oaky, notes of malts and caramel too. Not too sweet. Very moderate hops. The mouthfeel is maybe a bit thin, particularly in the finish. Not extreme in any way, but a quite enjoyable Belgian.

The flavour has quite a bit of caramel with moderate hops, some grain and fruit. Hints of alcohol. Not too bad, but Palm Dobbel was more to my liking.

250 ml bottle (2006), ABV is now 6%. Previous vintages seem to have been up to 7.5% ABV. Now available in Norway (Vinmonopolet). Deep chestnut hazy colour, huge and creamy tan head. Pleasant aroma of dried fruits, candy sugar and oak, vinous notes. Flavour is slightly less complex, moderately spicy and herbal with some oaky and vinous notes, definitely acceptable but not quite as good as top notch Belgians. Mouthfeel could have been fuller.

300 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%. Nice amber / redddish brown colour, decent off-white head. Pleasant aroma of lightly roasted malts with some caramel, fruits and spices. Rounded and lovely flavour, again lightly roasted malts with a subtle touch of fruits and spices, hints of yeast. Moderate bitterness. Easy drinking, impossible to dislike. However, you might want MORE of the pleasant aroma and flavour elements.
