Shared bottle at RBNAG 2011. ABV 4.0%. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Uninteresting typical industrial pale lager aroma and flavour, but not offensive. Thin body. Next, please! Rerate, 480 ml can, from EkoMarket, Stavanger. ABV is now 4.5%. The beer clearly benefits from a somewhat higher ABV. Maybe not a great beer, but not bad either. Clearly drinkable.

330 ml bottle, simply as Chang Beer 4.2%, now in Norwegian grocery stores. Extremely pale yellow colour, nearly colourless. Moderate to low white head. Aroma of baby porridge and grass. The flavour has some sweetish pilsener malts and hints of citrus, making the beer not undrinkable - but this is certainly not something to seek out.

330 ml bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 3.5%. Pale golden colour, large white head. Fairly strong grassy and grainy aroma. Mouthfeel like carbonated water. The flavour is utterly bland and boring (nearly flavourless), but there are no offensive off-flavours, and there is a faint hint of hops in the aftertaste, so I can’t say that the beer is totally undrinkable. Not something I’d ever pay good money for again, though.

500 ml bottle, as Primátor Svetlý, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4%. Pale golden colour, big white head. Typical Czech pilsener aroma of sweetish malts and grassy and floral Saaz hops, hints of honey. Light bodied of course, but very refreshing, with a better presence in the flavour of both malts and Saaz hops than you’d expect from 4% pilsener.

500 ml can, from REMA 1000. ABV 3.5%. The first Swedish "folköl" in Norway, hurra! - NOT. Very pale yellow colour, big white head. Sweetish aroma, grassy and sugary notes. Bland flavour and thin mouthfeel as expected, but no really offensive sidenotes detected. A little hops makes this a tolerable refreshment when cold - but only if you have nothing better around.

The flavour is not as sweet as the aroma made me fear, fairly crisp and "neutral", some citric notes, but the bitterness is too low. Far from undrinkable though.

Artificial aroma of raspberries / raspberrydrops - no real raspberries have been added to this beer, that's for sure. Light bodied, as expected. More artificial raspberrydrops in the flavour, but not overly sweet. A hint of metallic hops in the finish. Another tick for me - otherwise utterly forgettable, and not something I'll buy again, ever.

If you want a low ABV pale lager, this one is not as bad as I feared.
