5152 | Black Isle Organic Blonde | United Kingdom | Lager | 2.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 4 Shared bottle at hotel room tasting. Pale golden colour. Moderate malty and sweetish aroma. Revoltingly sweet flavour. No no no. Will re-rate if I get a new sample (somewhat colder) for free, but no way I’m going to pay money for this. |

5155 | Lervig Northwestern Lager | Norway | Lager | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Sampled on tap at Gladmatfestivalen, Stavanger. Unfiltered and unpasteurised. Will be made available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Deep golden colour, slightly hazy. Moderate white head. Excellent aroma and flavour dominated by American Northwestern hops (Chinook, Amarillo and Citra), perfectly balanced by the malts (pilsener and crystal). Citric and resinous notes, just the right bitterness. One of the best lagers I’ve had in a long time. |

5156 | Tennents Lager | United Kingdom | Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 5 440 ml can, as Wellpark Tennent’s, brewed at Wellpark Brewery, Glasgow. Bought in Spain. ABV is 4.0%. "Lager" is not part of the beer’s name, but I assume this is just a slightly weaker version of the ordinary Tennent’s Lager. Golden colour, moderate white head, some lacing. Weak sweetish and "industrial" aroma. Fairly refreshing flavour, tolerable hops, and not quite as thin as feared from a 4.0% lager. |

5157 | Bernard Specialni Cerne Pivo | Czech Republic | Lager | 3.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 500 ml swingtop bottle, as Bernard Specialni Černé pivo, unpasteurised. ABV is 5.1%. A gift from gunnar, thanks. BB date 01.07.10. Very dark reddish brown colour, nearly black. Big tan head. Aroma of brown bread, caramel and dust. The flavour is moderately malty but not very sweet, bready and dusty notes. Okay, but not impressive. |

5158 | Föroya Bjór Jolabryggj | Faroe Islands | Lager | 2.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 4 330 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 5.8%. Clear deep golden to brown colour, big white head. Weird aroma of "dusty" malts, loads of silage and grassy hops, a hint of caramel. Plenty of carbonation in the mouth. The flavour is medium sweet, with a moderate acidity, hints of caramel and grass. Not very good. |

5159 | Bohemia | Mexico | Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, as Bohemia Clásica, now available in Norway. ABV is 4.8%. Ingredients include maize (corn), rice and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Pale golden colour, slightly hazy, moderate white head. "Dusty" and uninteresting aroma. The flavour has at least a hint of hops, so it could be said to be more interesting than Corona and Sol. Refreshing on a hot day. |

5160 | Croocked Moon Lawnmower | Denmark | Lager | 3.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 On tap at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Pale yellow colour. Distinct aroma of American hops. Very dry and light bodied. The hopping may not be extreme per se, but with such a light body, it seems pretty extreme. A "lawnmower beer" should be light bodied, but this one would probably be more refreshing with a more subtle hopping. Still, way above the tasteless swill most people choose as "lawnmover beers". |

5162 | Ambar Especial Apta Para Celiacos | Spain | Lager | 3.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml bottle, from Super Cor, La Manga. ABV is 5.2%. Gluten free version of the ordinary Ambar Especial, suitable for people with coeliac disease. Label very similar to the ordinary version, you really have to look out for the words "Apta para celiacos", if this is the version you need. Deep golden colour, low white head. Fairly nice aroma of malts, herbs and cloves. Soft mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Malty flavour, a hint of caramel, not very sweet. Tolerable hops in the finish. Astonishingly good (well, my expectations were low), possibly the best coeliac-friendly beer I’ve had. |

5163 | Egils Premium | Iceland | Lager | 2.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 3 500 ml can, as Egils Premium Export, from Rúsan, Tórshavn. ABV is 5.7%. Pale golden colour, large white head. Moderate sweetish "industrial" aroma, hints of wet cardboard. The flavour is first medium sweet, some acidic fruity notes, hints of cardboard again, some bitterness in the dry and dusty finish. No masterpiece this one. |

5165 | Slottskällans Nelson | Sweden | Lager | 3.2
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is moderate 4.5% - still it is defined as a "starköl" according to Swedish law (sic). Golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of sweetish crystal malts, caramel and orange marmalade. Moderate carbonation. The flavour is first soft and smooth with a nice balance between the malts and hops, then some "dusty" notes, immediately followed by a less pleasant and very sharp and medicinal bitterness, which lasts throughout the long aftertaste. A weird effect of Nelson Sauvin hops. |

5167 | Saku Rock | Estonia | Lager | 2.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml bottle, as Saku Rock Alternative Premium, from a potential importer. ABV is 5.3%. Pale golden colour, large and lasting white head. Moderate sweetish aroma, some pilsener malts. The flavour is not too sweet, but very bland, and the hops are very moderate. However, there are no offensive off-flavours, and I can see that this beer may "go home" with its apparent target group, young people who are really not into beer yet. Tolerably refreshing when cold. |

5168 | Star Lager Beer | Nigeria | Lager | 2.2
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 Shared 330 ml can, at local tasting. ABV is 5.1%. Pale golden colour, large white head. Minimal aroma, hints of grassy and citrussy hops, not unpleasant though. Fairly "clean" and neutral pale lager flavour, a hint of citrus, noticeable hops. Not as bad as I feared. |

5169 | Coors Light | United States | Light / Lite Lager | 1.7
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml bottle, now available in Norway. Hurrah. ABV here is 4.5%. Crystal clear pale yellow colour, big to moderate white head. Weak grassy aroma, not unpleasant though. The beer is wet and cold, with minimal flavour, just a little sweetness. No aftertaste. The good thing is that there are no offensive off-flavours - just plenty of Rocky Mountain water ... |

5170 | Hansa Pilsner 365 | Norway | Light / Lite Lager | 2.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml can. Pale yellow colour, pours very fizzy with a big white head. Sweetish and sugary aroma, some grassy notes too. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour is not quite as bad as I feared, there are some bittering hops here, becoming metallic in the end. Not a beer I’ll buy again, though. |

5171 | Maui Bikini Blonde Lager | United States | Light / Lite Lager | 2.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 355 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.1%. Golden colour, slightly hazy, large and lasting white head. Fairly strong aroma of grassy hops, some grain too. The flavour is "clean" and has a decent presence of pilsener malts and a hint of citrus, but the hops are too moderate. |

5172 | Williams Brothers Caesar Augustus | United Kingdom | Light / Lite Lager | 3.2
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.1%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, large to moderate white head. As the beer is hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Amarillo, Styrian and Cascade, I expected the aroma to be something special, but it isn’t - just grassy notes on a background of malt sugar. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is clean, medium sweet and tolerably well hopped for a pale lager - yes, this is a lager, and not much of a "hybrid". At 33 IBU it is hardly an IPA by any stretch of the mind. Grassy finish. Drinkable, but won’t buy again. |

5173 | San Mig Light | Philippines | Light / Lite Lager | 1.6
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml can, as San Mig Light, brewed under licence by PT Delta, Indonesia. ABV is 4.9%. Clear pale yellow colour, low white head. Sweetish "industrial" aroma, notes of artificial candy. Thin and fizzy mouthfeel. Nearly void of flavour, quite dry, only a touch of sweetness in the background. One to forget. |

5175 | Boliarka Svetlo | Bulgaria | Light / Lite Lager | 2.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 4 500 ml bottle, a gift, BB date 25.08.08. Pale golden colour, moderate but lasting white head. Moderate carbonation in the glass. The aroma has first a whiff of grassy hops, then notes of cooked vegetables and undefined chemicals. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour has some hops and is first fairly refreshing, then the "chemical" notes from the aroma disturbs the tasting process too much. |
