(500 ml bottle, bought in Norway). Filtered wheat beer, like the name says crystal clear, very light golden, enormous head. Strong aroma of ripe bananas (or rather: the artificial "banana" filling you get in some chocolates + bubble gum), cloves too. Banana, cloves and hops in the flavour - but there's just too little of everything. Why filter away the goodies? Very short aftertaste.

500 ml bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 5.2%. Pale yellow colour, crystal clear like the name says. Large to moderate head. Typical weissbier aroma, fruity with bananas and cloves, but the the aroma is not as strong as you’ll get from a hefe-w. Crisp and spritzy mouthfeel. Moderate cloves and tolerable hops in the flavour, but boring compared to the hefe. Why filter away the goodies? Short aftertaste.

Sample from 330 ml bottle at the Brewery International stand, Smak 09. ABV is 5.0%. Golden colour, hazy, moderate head. Moderate hefeweizen aroma, notes of cloves and bubblegum. The flavour is fairly dry with moderate notes of cloves.

330 ml green bottle. Clear golden colour, large white head. Grainy aroma with notes of over-boiled vegetables, nearly like a n/a beer. The flavour is somewhat better, some wheaty and lemony notes. Very moderate hops. Drinkable, but not impressive at all - a "gourmet" would ask for something better than this.

500 ml screwcap bottle, a gift from my son Steinar, bought in Poland. ABV is 5.5%. Crystal clear very pale yellow colour, huge white head. Moderate but pleasant aroma of citrus, banana and cloves. The flavour is zesty and quite refreshing, with weak notes of banana and cloves. The mouthfeel is rather thin.

330 ml bottle, from Rema 1000, Tau. ABV is 4.7%. Crystal clear and extremely pale yellow colour, moderate white head. Fairly decent aroma of banana and cloves. Light bodied. The refreshing flavour has moderate notes of citrus, banana and cloves. No off-flavours.

500 ml bottle, as Schneider Weisse Tap 2 Mein Kristall, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5.3%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, moderate white head. Fairly distinct aroma of banana and cloves, also notes of hay. The flavour is fairly dry for a wheat beer, with some citrus and cloves, hints of banana, but rather bland compared to the brewery’s hefeweizens.

500 ml bottle, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Crystal clear deep golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of wheat malts, grain, dust, caramel, yeasty notes of banana and cloves. The flavour has notes of citrus, caramel and surprisingly distinct earthy and medicinal hops, hints of banana and cloves.

May 2015: 500 ml bottle, from CITTI-Markt Flensburg. ABV is 5.0%. BB date 03.14. Golden colour, moderate white head. Fairly fresh aroma, moderate notes of banana and cloves. The flavour is quite dry and refreshing, only very moderate notes of banana and cloves, the hops are more distinct than in most weissbiers.

330 ml can, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.7%. Brewed at Arendals Bryggeri. Slightly hazy golden to orange colour, moderate white head. Decent hoppy aroma, notes of Seville oranges and dried apricots, some pine too. Flavour of bitter oranges, grapefruit and pine needles.

500 ml green bottle (new design), from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5%. Clear golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of pilsener malts, also some grassy and herbal hops. Fairly refreshing flavour, some malty sweetness but also moderate herbal hops. Not too bad.

330 ml can, as Skudenes Pullert Cold IPA, from Vinmonopolet Aksdal. ABV is 7.5%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of citrus, mango and passionfruit. Lagerish and citric mouthfeel. Flavour of citrus / grapefruit, hints of grass and tropical fruits, fairly bitter finish.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.5%. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of pilsener malts and grassy and floral hops, some yeasty esters too. Slightly sweet flavour, with the same elements as the aroma. Low bitterness. Not undrinkable, but uninteresting.

500 ml bottle, from Dagli'brugsen Tylstrup. ABV is 6.2%. Pale golden colour, large white head. Aroma of malts, flowers, some spicy hops, unfresh fruit. Fairly refreshing flavour, a slight sweetness, malts and fruit, moderate bitterness. Not too bad.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Clear pale golden colour, large white head. Aroma of citrus, hints of spruce. Refreshing flavour, citric, with notes of pine needles and sprucetips, decent bitterness.

440 ml can, as Theodor Schiøtz Anarkist Crisp 'N' Cool Ice IPL, from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. ABV is 6.4%, IBU 35. Pale yellow colour, moderate white head. Aroma of citrus and yellow stonefruits, hints of tropical fruits. "Chewy" hoppy flavour with the same elements, also hints of pine needles, moderately bitter finish. Good beer.

330 ml bottle, as Mountain Crest Canadian Lager, from Mountain Crest Brewing Company, Calgary. Brewed with Canadian 2 Row Malt. ABV is 4.7%. Bought at Vaaland, Bryne. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate grassy aroma. Bland flavour, but no offensive side-notes. Some malty sweetness, very moderate hops. Won’t buy again.

March 2017: 500 ml can, from Helgø MENY Sola. ABV is 4.6%. Clear and very pale golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of newmown grass, sweetish hints of candy. Fairly refreshing flavour, a tad on the sweet side, fairly decent herbal hops. Not too bad.

500 ml bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 5.8%. Gusher bottle. Slightly hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of piney and citric hops, also yeast. Citric and fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour has a distinct grapefruity and piney / resinous bitterness, some malts and yeast in the background.

Feb. 2018: On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pale yellow colour, huge white head. Aroma of white grapes, spicy yeast and farmhouse. Light bodied. Refreshing flavour, fairly dry, hints of citrus, lots of spicy yeast and distinct bittering hops.

Nov. 2014: Shared bottle at local tasting. ABV is 4.6%. Golden colour, low white head. .Dusty, grainy and slightly sweetish unappealing aroma. Bland flavour, dusty notes, minimal bitterness, extremely boring.

500 ml can, from Joker Vatlandsvåg. ABV is 4.7%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma and flavour of RedBull, which is a drink I only consume when I am desperate. As a beer, this is terrible. Not totally undrinkable, though.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.8%, IBU 18. Slightly hazy golden colour, huge white head, takes a long time to settle. Aroma of lychee, pineapple and other tropical fruits. Somewhat thin mouthfeel. Flavour of said fruits, some citrus too, with a papery finish. The bitterness is too low.
