Aroma of pineapple, peaches and various tropical fruits, a hint of sprucetips. Fruity flavour with the same elements, also citrus and hints of pine needles, moderate bitterness. Good beer.

Moderate aroma of tropical fruits and citrus. The flavour has a lot more going on, distinct notes of various tropical fruits, also citrus, yellow stonefruits and pine needles. Moderate sweetness, very well balanced and enjoyable.

Nov. 2020 Shared can from Vinmonopolet Hillevåg, vintage 2020. Hazy yellow to orange colour, white head. Mandarin / tangerine and tropical fruits in aroma and flavour, quite sweet (too sweet?). And there's nothing "Christmassy" about it. Not my choice for Christmas dinner, anyway.

June 2012: On tap at HaandBryggeriet Beer Festival, Drammen. Deep orange to amber colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate aroma of fruity hops, hints of flowers and honey. The flavour is first sweet malts, then distinct hops with fruity notes and a bitter finish. Decent beer, but a bit too much sweetness overall.

May 2013: On tap at Haand Festival 2013, Drammen. Dark orange to red colour, moderate white head. Moderate but pleasant aroma of fruity hops and berries. Well balanced flavour, lovely hoppy and fruity character on a background of smooth malts, hints of oak and spices. Närke quality!

Aug. 2012: Shared bottle at local tasting. Black colour, ruby in the highlights. Moderate beige head. Nice hoppy aroma, also moderate roasty notes. Roasty and hoppy flavour, a solid bitterness throughout. Also coffee notes. Somewhat more roasty than other "black IPAs".

Nov. 2020: 500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.5%, IBU 30. Very cloudy straw colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of citrus, hints of tropical fruits. Sweet flavour (too sweet), notes of said fruits and pine, seems strangely unbalanced, fairly bitter finish. I am not convinced that this "raw" idea is the way to go for Nøgne Ø. Won't buy again.
