330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. BB date 30.04.15. ABV is 8%. Brewed by Omnipollo at De Proef Brouwerij. "Single Hop Galaxy" is not mentioned on the label. Slightly hazy deep golden to orange colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of citrussy and piney hops. Fresh and fruity flavour first, seems to have kept well. The finish is drier, resinous and "dusty", very bitter.

750 ml corked & caged bottle, from Seven Cellars. ABV is 10%. Slightly hazy deep golden to light amber colour, large white head. Aroma of oxidised old jam, Belgian ale yeast, white kandij sugar syrup and mild spices. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, the alcohol is noticeable. Moderate hops in the finish.

473 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Bergen Storsenter, thanks to my niece. ABV is 8.5%. Slightly hazy golden colour, large to moderate white head. Distinct aroma of citrus, pineapple and moderate pine. Soft mouthfeel. The slightly sweet flavour has the same elements as the aroma, with a harsh bitterness in the aftertaste.

Sample on tap at What’s Brewing Beer Festival, Stavanger. Called a "session IPA", ABV 4.3%. Clear pale golden colour, white head. Distinct aroma of fruity hops, tropical fruits galore, esp. mango. Light bodied as expected, but refreshing. The flavour has distinct hops throughout, tropical fruits first, then a solid bitterness.

500 ml bottle, from Det Gode Brygg, Sandnes. ABV is 4.2%, IBU 31. Hops are Columbus and Cascade, malts are pale, dark crystal and dark cara. Amber colour, moderate white head. Pleasant aroma of fruity hops, also some caramel. Fairly well hopped flavour, spicy and fruity notes, slightly sweet, again some caramel.

Sweet flavour (too sweet), plenty of lactose (though not listed as an ingredient) and malt sugar, roast malts and vanilla. Warming throatfeel. Good in small portions, so share the can.

473 ml can, from bestofbeers.dk . ABV is 6.1%. Hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruits and pine. Medium sweet flavour, again with citrus and tropical fruits, and a moderate piney / resinous bitterness in the finish.

750 ml bottle, probably from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 9.5%. Hazy orange to brown colour, moderate off-white head. Lovely aroma of brettanomyces / farmhouse, lemons, oak and bourbon. Sour / acidic flavour, red wine vinegar and lemons galore, also hints of oak and bourbon - an unusual combination. This must be the "whiskey sour" of the beer world.

Cask halfpint at the Argyll Arms. Black colour, minimal beige head. Nice aroma of chocolate, hints of mild coffee. Smooth mouthfeel. Smooth flavour too, some lactic sweetness, but not too much. Chocolate and mild coffee again, moderate hops in the finish.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Jørpeland. ABV is 6.0%. Hazy golden colour with some sediment floaties, small white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, citrus and yellow stonefruits. Citric / fruity flavour with the same elements as the aroma, decent bitterness. Refreshing and enjoyable beer, slightly peppery finish.

500 ml bottle, from Ales By Mail. ABV is 7%, IBU 52. Chestnut to mahogany colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of ripe red and dark fruits, hints of rye bread and bitter orange marmalade, also lightly roast malts. The flavour has moderately roast malts, mild coffee, rye bread and earthy and orangey hops. Reasonably good beer.

Strong sweetish aroma of white kandij sugar syrup, ripe bananas and dust, hints of green peppercorns and ginger. Sweet flavour, notes of white kandij sugar syrup and malt sugar, with a much needed counterpoint in spicy notes of green peppercorns, ginger and moderate hops. Might well have another one, but not necessarily in the same session.

Pleasant fruity (berries, dark dried fruits) and malty aroma with some caramel notes. The flavour is distinctly malty, again with some caramel notes, without being overly sweet. Fruity and resinous hops with a firm bitterness in the finish.

Moderate aroma, mild coffee notes, hints of dark chocolate. Sweet flavour with plenty of coffee, dark chocolate and liquorice, some bitterness in the finish. Quite good.

Notes of citrus and piney hops in the slightly dry flavour too, but the bitterness is moderate. Well balanced and easy to drink.

The flavour has also notes of mango and distinct piney / resinous hops, with a distinct bitter finish. The mango nearly drowns in the bitterness.

Intense aroma of Citra hops, citrus and tropical fruits galore, some catty hints too. Very hoppy flavour on a slightly sweet background, notes of grapefruit and resin, hints of tropical fruits, medium bitter finish. Maybe not perfectly balanced, but a decent beer all the same.
