Well balanced flavour with some malty sweetness and hints of toffee, followed by fruity and herbal Goldings hops. Easy drinking, invites you to take large sips. Quite enjoyable.

500 ml bottle, from the brewery. ABV is 8%. Dark reddish brown colour, moderate off-white to beige head. Nice aroma of malts, brown bread, caramel and bakery. Fairly sweet flavour, notes of caramel, molasses, slightly roast malts, moderate hops. Good beer.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Sauda. Black colour, small tan head. Aroma of roast malts, lactose, molasses, fusel alcohols and honey. Warming mouthfeel. Rich and sweet flavour of roast malts, molasses, lactose, liquorice, oak and honey, fairly distinct bittering hops.

355 ml slimline can, as Sixpoint Bengali, at the Prince of Wales (JDW), Cardiff. ABV was 6.5%. Orange colour, moderate white head. Distinct aroma of American hops, notes of orange marmalade and pine. Hoppy flavour too, some sweetness but not too much, notes of orange peel and pine / resin.

355 ml can, at the Granite City (JDW), Aberdeen Airport. 9.1% ABV, 103 IBU. Orange colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Surprisingly moderate aroma of American piney and grapefruity hops. In the flavour, however, both the piney / resinous and grapefruity notes are very distinct - still the beer is reasonably well balanced, the malts are sufficient, with a certain fruity sweetness, and where I expected an unbalanced resinous hell, there is actually as much smoothness as you can expect from a 103 IBU beer. Might well buy again.

Shared 750 ml bottle, ABV 8.7%. From Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. Hazy deep reddish brown colour, large off-white to beige head. Very nice aroma of rich malts, brown kandij sugar, molasses and Belgian ale yeast. Malty flavour, moderate notes of kandij sugar, but not too sweet. Very moderate hops (Aalst Hallertauer).

Sample from bottle, RBNG 2014 in Halden, Grand Tasting, as Glazen Toren Saison d’Erpe-Mere Lentebier. ABV was 9%. My notes recall a fresh and spicy aroma and flavour - I liked it!

Spicy aroma with grassy and herbal hops, hints of dill and lemongrass. Effervescent mouthfeel. Spicy flavour, dill and lemongrass again, bitter hops in the finish. Warming throatfeel.

Aroma of oranges (some of them decaying) / orange peel / orange marmalade, some grainy and piney notes too. The flavour is better, fruity with oranges again, but not too sweet. Moderate bitterness. Soft mouthfeel. Pleasant to drink.

Rerate, 355 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.9%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Attractive aroma of tropical fruits, citrus and pine. Well hopped flavour, but not overdone. Notes of citrus and other fruits make the beer very drinkable, the moderate piney bitterness seems just right for a session. Original rating: RBESG 2016 in Barcelona. On tap at the BrewDog bar. Golden colour. Well hopped aroma and flavour, notes of tropical fruits and citrus, some pine. Easy drinking - a fine "session" IPA that could easily become a regular of mine.

Pleasant sweetish and fruity (citrus and strawberries) and spicy (thai basil, coriander, cloves) aroma. The flavour has some sweetness, but not more than normal for a tripel. Fruity and fairly distinct spicy flavour. Moderate hops, a little more would not hurt, even for a tripel. A lovely beer anyway.

Aroma of malts and toffee, dark dried fruits and ripe red fruits, a hint of mild spices. Flavour with the same elements, moderate hops. Fizzy mouthfeel.

Sample from bottle at Copenhagen Beer Festival 2013. Brown colour, moderate off-white head. Distinct aroma of fruit cake and fortified/oaked wine The flavour is not too sweet (surprisingly dry, actually), and has distinct notes of armagnac oak barrel. Decent hops in the finish. Will buy again when I can get a whole bottle, I expect I will have no problem finishing it.

Sample from bottle at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Very dark brown, nearly black colour, tan head. Aroma and flavour have mild roasty notes, mild coffee, chocolate. Silky smooth flavour, very pleasant to drink. Sure, there are "bigger" stouts out there, but this one is impossible to dislike.

750 ml waxed bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.66%. Slightly hazy pale yellow colour, moderate to small white head. Strong aroma of apricots, oak and brettanomyces / farmhouse, spicy hints. The flavour has some fruity acidity, but is not extremely sour. Distinct notes of apricots, brettanomyces and oak, moderate hops. Moreish.

Slightly hazy brown colour, moderate off-white head. Malty aroma, notes of caramel, honey, cinnamon and ginger. The flavour is also malty, but not as sweet as I feared. Again notes of honey, cinnamon and ginger, but they are fairly well balanced. Notes of dark dried fruits too, and some caramel. Moderate hops. Pleasant to drink.

Relatively light bodied. The flavour is medium dry and decidedly citric, on a background of earthy bittering hops. Enjoyable.

Rich mouthfeel. Flavour of coffee on a sufficient background of malts, also distinct piney hops, hints of bitter orange marmalade, fairly bitter finish and aftertaste.

355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Imperial Stout with Oreo. ABV is 11.9%. Brewed for Prairie Artisan Ales by Krebs Brewing Co. Pitch black colour, small tan head. Aroma of roast malts, molasses, alcohol, chocolate, vanilla, coffee and Oreo cookies. Warming mouthfeel. Very sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, noticeable bittering hops in the finish. Recommended for sharing.
