The flavour is also malty and nutty, again with hints of toffee and caramel, but not very sweet. Moderate earthy hops in the finish. Nice beer.

Shared 355 ml can. Cloudy pale yellow colour, moderate white head. Nice aroma of pine, spruce and citrus zest (incl. grapefruit), hints of tropical fruits. Fruity and zesty flavour, nicely balanced hops. Good stuff!

355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.0%. Deep golden colour, large white head. Aroma of grapefruit and pine. The flavour is distinctly hoppy throughout, like the "normal" Sculpin, but with the grapefruity and piney notes from the hops enhanced by added grapefruit. Good stuff.

Aroma of roast malts and coffee, hints of dark chocolate and black rye bread, the orange peel is hardly noticeable. The flavour has a slight malty sweetness, and is otherwise roasty with distinct coffee notes, some chocolate and orange peel, hints of black rye bread, moderate hops in the finish, hops become more distinct in the aftertaste.

500 ml bottle, batch #888, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.5%. Very pale yellow colour, slightly hazy. Pours fizzy with a large white head. The aroma is distinctly hoppy with fruity notes and a catty hint, also pleasant and mild spicy notes, a hint of farmhouse. The flavour is medium dry and crisp, again with mild spicy / peppery notes, also fruity hops. Medium bitter aftertaste.

Strong and pleasant sweetish aroma of malts and oranges / orange marmalade, honey, fruity hops and hints of caramel. The flavour is medium sweet and malty, notes of caramel and oranges, and a firm hoppy bitterness in the finish. Some resin in the aftertaste. Very good.

Baladin Super Bitter. 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8%. Hazy orange to brown colour, large white (or slightly off-white) head. Pleasant aroma of mild spices, brown sugar and malts, hints of dark fruits. The flavour is mid between dry and sweet, with the same elements as the aroma. Moderate bittering hops in the finish. Nice beer.

The flavour is heavily hopped, but not overdone. Notes of pine needles, resin, grapefruit and bitter Seville oranges. Sufficient malts to balance.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 6.8%. Hopped with a blend of European, North American and New Zealand varieties. Deep golden colour, large white head. Aroma of citrussy hops, especially mandarin, also some catty hints, and some crystal malts. Smooth mouthfeel, moderate carbonation in the glass. The lightly sweet flavour is distinctly hoppy throughout, with a grapefruity bitterness, also hints of pine needles.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Black colour, low tan head. Pleasant roasty and fruity aroma, hints of exotic woodwork. Very little carbonation. Warming mouthfeel, The flavour is heavily roasty, notes of very strong coffee and dark bitter chocolate, not very sweet. A solid hoppy and roasty bitterness in the finish.

Rerate, 750 ml bottle, batch #1759, from Vinmonopolet Jørpeland. ABV is 7.0%. Reddish amber to brown colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of malts, some of them lightly roasted. A hint of dark berries in the background. Malty flavour, only a very moderate sweetness, some caramel. A slight fruitiness of berries helps the drinkability. Moderate but noticeable bitterness. Okay. I'm upping the score a bit. Original rating: Sample at Nærbø Ølfestival. Deep golden brown colour. Fairly roasty and malty aroma and flavour, rather dry. Will rerate when I get a full bottle, or a larger sample on tap.

Sample from bottle at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Pitch black colour, brown head. Very roasty aroma, notes of coffee and dark chocolate. The flavour is very sweet and very roasty, notes of coffee and molasses.

Relatively light bodied, but has a solid hoppiness throughout. Citrussy notes, resinous and bitter in the aftertaste. Not very sweet, but has some notes of caramel malts. Another decent ale from Adnams.

Citric mouthfeel. The flavour is slightly sweet, with the same elements as the aroma, also a hint of banana and honeymelon.

Beer No. 2 in my flight of beers at the brewery tap. Deep golden to orange colour, slightly hazy. Well hopped throughout in aroma and flavour, predominantly citrussy notes, also moderate pine, but not too bitter. A well made APA, the way I like them.

Lots of fruit, pine needles and resin in the slightly sweet flavour too. Bitter finish, very bitter aftertaste.

Smooth mouthfeel, moderately warming. The flavour is indeed "heavy on the bourbon", same elements as the aroma. Hints of chocolate too.

Lovely Cascade aroma, citrus fruits and tropical fruits abound. Pleasant hoppy flavour - more in terms of "depth of flavour" than actual bitterness. Soft mouthfeel. Some hops in the aftertaste too. A nice beer!
