826 | Nils Oscar Coffee Stout | Sweden | Coffee Stout | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Bottle, kindly shared by abemorsten. ABV is 6%. Black colour, moderate to low beige head. Pleasant and harmonious aroma of coffee, chocolate and dark dried fruits, hints of oak. Flavour of coffee without being too "heavy", pleasant to drink (but demands that you like coffee). A very enjoyable beer. |

828 | Amager Imperial Stout | Denmark | Imperial Stout | 4.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. Batch #150. ABV is 10.01%. Pitch black colour, impressive brown head. Lovely aroma of hops, heavily roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate, hints of vanilla. The flavour has an intense bitterness from start to finish, both from the hops and the roasted malts - too much hoppy bitterness for mye taste, as it overshades the finer tones of 8 different malts. Also burnt notes, and notes of too strong coffee. Not enough sweetness to balance the bitterness. Ashy aftertaste. |

The flavour is distinctly roasty and spicy, but the ginger is not burning. Notes of coffee and dark chocolate again, good bitterness in the finish. Some ashes and wood in the aftertaste. This must be one of Holbæk Bryg’s better beers. |

846 | Southern Tier Imperial Choklat Stout | United States | Imperial Stout | 4.0
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 650 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 11.0%. Pitch black colour, moderate creamy tan head. Intense aroma of cocoa / chocolate. The flavour has also loads of chocolate and cocoa, but the sweetness is not too extreme. Also some roasted coffee notes. A moderate hoppy bitterness in the finish (Chinook and Willamette) balances some of the chocolate sweetness. Very drinkable for an 11% beer. I had no problem finishing the bottle - but if you hate chocolate, this is clearly not a beer for you. |
