330 ml stubby swingtop bottle, batch 2012. ABV is 10.276% (!). Very brown colour, nearly black (= fairly pale for an imperial stout), huge beige head. Roasty aroma, roast malts, roast pepper, coffee, hints of vanilla and chocolate. Smooth and fairly sweet flavour, plenty of chocolate / cocoa, mild sweetened coffee, hints of molasses, medium bitter hops in the finish. Quite enjoyable.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Brownish red colour, large off-white head. Nice aroma of fruity and mildly spicy English hops, hints of resin, also malts and earthy notes. The medium sweet flavour is also fruity, but more in terms of dried or baked fruits and berries, again some earthy tones, well hopped with a firm malty backbone.

Pleasant malty aroma, notes of caramel, fresh bread and pastry, hints of dark berries. Malty flavour too, some caramel but not too sweet, very moderate earthy hops. A true Scottish Ale. Will buy again.

Moderately roasty flavour, notes of coffee, hints of liquorice and dark bitter chocolate, moderate but still distinct bittering hops. A decent robust porter.

Aroma of toasted coconut, bourbon, oak, vanilla, molasses and fusel alcohols Warming mouth- and throatfeel. The flavour is sweet and malty, but still not quite as sweet as I feared. Toasted coconut, bourbon, oak and vanilla again, moderate hops.

The flavour is first malty and medium dry, with hints of biscuits and toffee, followed by fruity notes, with earthy hops in the finish. A very enjoyable beer.

Hops are Herkules, Tomahawk, Amarillo, Simcoe, Cascade and Centennial. Yeast is US-Ale. Very dark brown to black colour, large beige head. Strong hoppy aroma, notes of pine, spruce and grapefruit, hints of tropical fruits and chocolate. Hoppy flavour too, but not extreme. Piney and grapefruity notes, with a distinct hoppy and roasty bitterness in the finish and long aftertaste. Good beer.

The flavour is medium sweet with spices / pepper, citrus and herbal and earthy bittering hops. The alcohol is noticeable.

The slightly sweet flavour is still evidence that this is a beer and not just fruit juice, still with notes of tropical fruits. Well balanced bitterness. Good beer.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Reddish brown colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Strong aroma of fruity hops, also notes of spruce, a hint of caramel malts in the background. The flavour is distinctly hoppy throughout, but not extreme, notes of spruce and some fruit again. There might be some caramel malt (and / or Munich malt) and chocolate malt in here, but they do not dominate, the beer is fairly dry, no more residual sweetness than necessary. Very drinkable, must pair well with many foods too. Another good one from Lervig and Mike Murphy!

Christmas seasonal. 500 ml bottle, from Det Gode brygg, Sandnes. ABV is 4.7%. Chestnut to mahogany colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, brittle, brown bread and Christmas spices. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, but is not too sweet. Very moderate hops. Pleasant to drink.

The well balanced flavour has notes of citrussy and resinous hops throughout, but is not too bitter. Also spicy notes (coriander). An excellent fusion between witbier and IPA, dangerously drinkable.

Intense flavour of hops throughout, again with notes of tropical fruits and grapefruit, fir and pine needles and resin. There is a sufficient malty backbone, but not much sweetness. The bitterness is firm, but not too extreme. Jolly good.

The flavour is fairly dry and very roasty with distinct notes of coffee, hints of smoke and oak / vanilla.

The rich and medium dry flavour is malty first, immediately followed by piney, spicy and grapefruity hops. Ends in a nice bitterness.

Medium dry flavour of roast malts and roast nuts, surprisingly little chocolate, more distinct coffee and bittering hops (33 IBU). Smooth and pleasant to drink.

Medium sweet and smooth flavour, again with moderate roasty notes of coffee and chocolate, hints of caramel, vanilla and sweet liquorice. Very nice to drink.
