6679 | Steinlager | New Zealand | Pale Lager | 2.4
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, London. Pale golden sparkling beer, poor head. Moderate hops and grass in the aroma. A tolerable amount of hops in the flavour makes this beer A LITTLE better than the average swill lager. Won’t buy again, though. I you want a good NZ lager, look for Emersons in stead! |

6681 | Leon | Cyprus | Lager | 2.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 4 440 ml can, brought home from Cyprus by my wife. Pale golden colour, large head. Sweetish aroma with notes of candy, grass, flowers and honey. The flavour is relatively crisp with a slightly spritzy mouthfeel, somewhat better than expected. Light bodied. Could have been worse. |

6682 | Cesu Premium | Latvia | Lager | 2.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml can, bought in Riga, as "Cesu Premium Alus Limited Edition", but I suspect the "Limited Edition" only refers to the design of the can, not the beer inside! ABV is 5.2%. Pale golden colour, large and lasting white head. Fruity aroma with notes of candy. Fizzy mouthfeel, light bodied, thin. The flavour is fairly sweet with fruity notes, low bitterness. No masterpiece this one. |

6683 | Rubbel Sexy Lager | Belgium | Pale Lager | 2.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 4 330 ml bottle, daft label replete with bikini-clad girl to rub. ABV is 5.0%. Courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pale golden colour, large to moderate lasting head. Moderate carbonation in the glass. Sweetish aroma, notes of candy. Sweetish pale lager flavour with some lemony notes. Very moderate hops, but there’s a slightly metallic bitterness in the aftertaste. You may think the label is sexy, but the beer is not. |

6684 | Saku Kuld Export | Estonia | Pale Lager | 2.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml can, thanks to KnutAlbert. ABV is 4.5%. Normally the "export" version of a beer is stronger than the "ordinary" version, but in this case it is weaker! Crystal clear very pale golden colour, big white head. Moderate fruity aroma, citrus and candy. Light bodied, thin mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet and sugary, with minimal hops. Not much to write home about here - nor to export. |

Very pale straw coloured beer, slightly hazy, with a huge white head. Strong sweetish aroma of apples, orange peel, coriander, Christmas spices and artificial "apple" candy. The flavour is sweet with strong notes of apples, also notes of spices. Minimal bitterness. Fairly refreshing when cold. |

6687 | Moss Pilsner (Original Mossepils) | Norway | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 4 330 ml brown bottle, bought at Berentsens Brygghus, Ølutsalget, Egersund. ABV is 4.7%. Brewed by Berentsens Brygghus according to old recipes from Moss Bryggeri. Very pale golden colour, big to moderate white head. Aroma of malts, baby porridge and cooked vegetables, reminds me of a n/a beer. Very little carbonation in the glass, soft mouthfeel. The flavour is fairly "neutral", with a very moderate malty sweetness and moderate hops. Far from undrinkable, but boring. I’d prefer Berentsens Rogalands Pils and Økologisk Pils to this one. I don’t really think it was a great service to the good people of Moss town to have this recipe revived. |

Aroma of over-boiled vegetables and maize baby porridge, also notes of grassy hops. The flavour is moderately citrussy (which is quite nice) and slightly grassy, some sweetness but not too bad, minimal bitterness. Empty finish. |

6691 | Samuel Smiths Organic Cider | United Kingdom | Cider | 2.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 550 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5%. Ingredients are water, organic apple concentrate, organic cane sugar, malic acid, yeast, carbon dioxide. Hm. So much for "fresh apples straight from the tree". Extremely pale yellow colour, pours very fizzy with a big to moderate head that actually lasts for a while. Moderate aroma of cider apples, eating apples and dust. The flavour is bland and watery, medium sweet (or medium dry, if you like), notes of bland eating apples without much character. Not much to write home about. |

6692 | Ceres Hvidtøl | Denmark | Reduced Alcohol | 2.4
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV is 1.9%. Very dark brown colour, nearly black (the name "hvidtøl" = "white beer" for this Danish style is slightly amusing). Moderate beige head. Moderate aroma of malts, caramel and dust. The flavour is very malty and sugary sweet, notes of caramel and Danish pastry. No bitterness. |

6693 | BrewDog Sink the Bismarck | United Kingdom | Strong Ale | 2.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 41%. Sold as "spirits / hard liquor" ( 4 cl shots) in Norway. Deep reddish orange to amber colour, No head, nor any carbonation. Aroma of piney and catty American hops, hints of fusel alcohols and red berries. The flavour is very sweet, very bitter and loaded with alcohol. Not good. |

6694 | Eik & Tid Kimær | Norway | Wild Ale | 2.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330 ml clear bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.8%. Beautiful clear red colour, small off-white pinkish head dies instantly. Fairly decent aroma of red berries. Like all beers from this brewery, the flavour has plenty of lactic acid, but this one is not nearly as extreme as the other beers I've had from them. Notes of sour red berries, particularly redcurrants. As expected no flavour of malts and hops. Not undrinkable, but I will not waste any more money on beers from this brewery. Of the 11 beers I've had, none of them have tempted me to buy again. |

6697 | Seven Island HoHoHo Hot Choco | Greece | Imperial Stout | 2.4
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 Small sample from can, at Cardinal, Stavanger. Black colour, beige head. First reaction: "Å du syge banan!!!". Sugary aroma and flavour, apparently intended to exterminate drinkers by giving them severe diabetes. This is just ridiculous. Also insane amounts of cocoa, marshmallows, nutmeg and cinnamon. At least it is not thin and insipid.. |

6698 | Föroya Bjór Jolabryggj | Faroe Islands | Lager | 2.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 4 330 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 5.8%. Clear deep golden to brown colour, big white head. Weird aroma of "dusty" malts, loads of silage and grassy hops, a hint of caramel. Plenty of carbonation in the mouth. The flavour is medium sweet, with a moderate acidity, hints of caramel and grass. Not very good. |

6699 | Lapin Kulta Premium Lager (2007-) | Finland | Pale Lager | 2.4
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger, as Lapin Kulta Premium. Was said to be 4.5%. Golden colour, low white head. Moderate floral aroma, not bad, not remarkable. Crisp and fairly dry flavour, but far too modest on the hops. This is a beer you’d drink on a tropical beach, rather than in the wilds of Lapland. |

6700 | Herslev Bryghus Gorms Bryg | Denmark | Spiced Beer | 2.4
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml bottle, brew #449, from Ølkonsortiet, Aalborg. ABV is 5.5%. Amber to copper colour, slightly hazy. Moderate head, slightly off-white. The aroma has notes of ripe berries and caramel, hints of honey, but also unpleasant notes of rotting green apples and ammonium. The medium sweet flavour has some malts, caramel and rotting fruits, and has an overall coarse character of not very successful homebrew, possibly infected. Low bitterness. This is undoubtedly the least attractive brew I’ve had from Herslev. |
