500 ml bottle, brought to a tasting by someone who had bought it in Riga. ABV was 6%. At first I thought that he was pulling my leg, and that the content of the bottle really was a "radler" (cola beermix). Apparently it was the real thing. Reddish brown colour, low head. Minimal aroma, hints of cola. Flavour of RC Cola and cinnamon - weird. Not my idea of a Baltic porter.

(500 ml can, in Sweden). Golden colour, good thick head. Sweet candy aroma. Flavour is sweet and alcoholic, but not as cloying and disgusting as some other Swedish lagers of this strength. Slightly lighter and fresher than the most horrific specimens of this style. At least I was able to finish this one. No reason to keep a festival for it, though.

500 ml clear bottle, bought at Systembolaget, Sweden. ABV is 5.2%. Deep golden to amber colour, moderate white head. Fairly strong artificial banana aroma, not very pleasant, kind of sickly actually. The flavour is somewhat better than the aroma, notes of artificial "banana" candy throughout, but the sweetness is not overpowering, and there are notes of malts, toffee and hops too. The finish is reasonably hoppy. Would I drink it again, if for free, in order not to insult the host? Yes I would. Will I (ever again) pay good money for it myself? No way!

330 ml green bottle, ABV is 4.7%. Golden colour, big white head. Sweetish aroma of malts and unhopped wort, hints of caramel and hay. Sweetish flavour, some malts and "dust", but where are the hops? This is not good enough!

330 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV is 1.7%. Ingredients include liquorice, sugar and colour E150c (also barley malts and hops). Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate beige head. Malty and sugary aroma, notes of brown bread, caramel and dust. The flavour is malty and very sugary / syrupy, extremely sweet, notes of caramel. Too far out on the sweet side for me.

568 ml green bottle, bought at Vaaland Spesialbutikkken, Bryne. ABV is 4.5%. Contains sulphites. Made with pears as the sole fruit. Crystal clear extremely pale greyish-greenish yellow colour, pours very fizzy with a moderate but short-lived head. Moderate aroma of pears and oxidised apples. Thin mouthfeel. Flavour of pears (of course), pear drops and sugar, but not extremely sweet. Could have been better, could have been worse.

330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 32%. Sold as "spirits / hard liquor" ( 4 cl shots) in Norway. Very dark reddish brown colour, nearly black. No head nor carbonation. Strong aroma of fusel alcohols, oaky and roasty notes, hints of smoke. Intense flavour of smoke, tar and salt. Moderately bitter finish. To be honest, this was not very good.

Same beer as Tuborg Classic. I remember the Danish version as an acceptable lager with some caramel sweetness. Rerate, Norwegian version brewed by Ringnes, 500 ml can: ABV is 4.6%. Golden (deep golden, maybe) colour, moderate white head. Very moderate aroma, hints of malts, boiled vegetables, caramel and dust. The flavour has some malts and a little caramel sweetness, hints of boiled vegetables and baby porridge. Not much to write home about.

500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat, Sandnes. ABV is 7.5%. Dark copper colour, moderate off-white head. Strong aroma of smoke / smoked meat. The flavour is smoked sausage on a medium sweet and lagerish flavour, some acidity. Nope, this is not a beer for me. Fail.

330 ml bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 0.3%. Pale golden colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of malts, honey and moderate citric hops. Light bodied as expected. Citric / lemony flavour, hints of honey in the background. Low bitterness.

Sampled 1902 vintage from lead(!)-sealed and corked bottle, at RBESG 2006 in Göteborg. The smell was simply lovely, very complex and enticing. Unfortunately the flavour had turned into vinegar, and I could not finish my small ration. But I kept the cork, and enjoyed the smell of it for months!

500 ml can, from Coop Extra Prestemarka, Tau. ABV is 4.2%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of wet dog, malts and hop oil. Fizzy and citric mouthfeel. Fairly crisp and "clean" pilsener flavour, not a great beer, but drinkable.

500 ml can, as Borg Lite Glutenfri, from SPAR Jørpeland. ABV is 4.2%. Crystal clear golden colour, small white head. Decent aroma of malts and floral, herbal and grassy hops. Citric and thin mouthfeel. Fairly dry flavour with a slightly metallic and papery finish.

March 2022: 330 ml can, from Coop Mega Madla Handelslag. ABV is 0.5%. Very pale and nearly clear straw colour, small white head. Aroma of flowers and tropical fruits, hints of peaches. Some malts and baby porridge in the background. Thin mouthfeel as expected. Citric flavour, some grainy notes, low bitterness. Drinkable, but not much "Punk" about this one.

December 2015: 250 ml bottle, from Prima Beer. ABV is 3.5%. Red colour, pinkish-purplish head. Aroma of "fruits of the forest" and jam. Medium sweet flavour, "fruits of the forest" with an "artificial" and bland finish.

June 2013: Shared 500 ml swingtop bottle, thanks to gunnar who brought it fresh from Bamberg. ABV is 6.0%. Amber / reddish brown colour, moderate white head. Unusual "wet wool" or "damp closet" aroma, weak caramel malts in the background. The flavour is moderately malty with a little caramel, but is not very sweet. The aroma blends in with the flavour in an unpleasant way.

Oct. 2015: 355 ml bottle, from the Danish importer. ABV is 4.0%. Certified organic. Pale yellow colour, small white head. Strong aroma of over-ripe mixed berries. Light bodied. Dry flavour, with discrete notes of mixed berries, hardly any bitterness nor any other sign of hops. Not a winner by me.

500 ml can, as Harboe Extra Strong, from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. ABV is 7.7%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of malts and glucose syrup, some herbal hints. Medium sweet flavour (too sweet to be refreshing), notes of glucose syrup and alcohol, moderate herbal hops in the finish.

440 ml can, from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. ABV is 5.0%. Nearly clear and very pale straw colour, moderate to small white head. Sweetish grassy aroma. Citric and thin mouthfeel. Moderate citric and herbal hops in the flavour, on a base of sweetish malts and rice. Boring beer, won't buy again.

500 ml bottle, as Saku Rock Alternative Premium, from a potential importer. ABV is 5.3%. Pale golden colour, large and lasting white head. Moderate sweetish aroma, some pilsener malts. The flavour is not too sweet, but very bland, and the hops are very moderate. However, there are no offensive off-flavours, and I can see that this beer may "go home" with its apparent target group, young people who are really not into beer yet. Tolerably refreshing when cold.

500 ml bottle, as Schneider Weisse Tap 3 Mein Alkoholfreies, from MENY Stadionparken. Hazy brownish golden colour, huge off-white head. The aroma has some of the usual n/a beer character of baby porridge and over-boiled vegetables, but also some wheaty notes with hints of cloves and citrus. Thin mouthfeel. Dry flavour with some hints of citrus - boring and uninteresting, but if you need a n/a beer, it is not undrinkable.

Shared 500 ml bottle at local tasting, thanks to Ole Anders. ABV is 5.2%. Dark reddish brown colour, moderate beige head. Strong aroma of honey, also notes of brown malts and sourish fruit. Medium sweet flavour of honey and brown malts, unfortunately not balanced by sufficient spices nor hops.

Shared bottle at hotel room tasting. Pale golden colour. Moderate malty and sweetish aroma. Revoltingly sweet flavour. No no no. Will re-rate if I get a new sample (somewhat colder) for free, but no way I’m going to pay money for this.
