6277 | Eik & Tid Skrekkelig Jul | Norway | Fruit Beer | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 5 330 ml clear bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 6.6%. Murky red colour, shortlived pink head. Aroma of lactic acid, fruityoghurt and blueberries. Sour flavour, lemons and lactic acid galore, also blueberries, just a hint of aquavit spices. Like most beers from this brewery, it is really too sour for me, but at least this one is not undrinkable. |

Minimal grainy aroma. Sweetish flavour of butterscotch, some bittering hops, but not much hop flavour besides the bitterness. |

6279 | Nøisom Bonfire Blonde Pale Ale | Norway | American Pale Ale | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 June 2017: 500 ml bottle, from a grocery store. ABV is 4.7%, 36 IBU. The bottle was not gushing, but when pouring the glass fills completely with white foam, and a pale yellow beer (slightly hazy) appears only very slowly underneath. Ridiculously overcarbonated! Aroma of moderately spicy yeast, some piney notes too. The dry flavour is piney with a faint hint of smoke. Won’t buy again. |

6280 | Carlton Crown Lager | Australia | Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Sample from 330 ml bottle, as Crown Lager, at the Brewery International stand, Smak 09. ABV is 4.9%. Golden colour, low head. Fruity aroma. Fairly fruity and zesty flavour, some estery sidenotes, low bitterness. Not a great beer, but drinkable. |

6281 | Finnfestøl | Belgium | Pale Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. No GTIN code on the label, but the "Finnfest" commander general confirms that it is brewed by Van Steenberge. ABV is 4.5%. Ingredients include sugar. Clear pale golden colour, huge white head, no traces of sediment in the bottle. Sweetish "pale lager" aroma, notes of grass, some fruit and yeast. The flavour is moderately sweet with a somewhat sharp hoppy "bite" in the finish. Not a remarkably good beer, but drinkable. |

6283 | Avery Karma Ale | United States | Belgian Ale | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 12 fl. oz. bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV not mentioned on the label. Orange to amber colour, moderate to low white head. Dusty and uninteresting aroma, notes of cardboard. The flavour has some fruitiness, but is otherwise dusty, bland and boring. Minimal hops. Disappointing. |

6284 | Braunstein Næsgaarden Økologisk Brown Ale | Denmark | Brown Ale | 2.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml bottle, bought at Superbrugsen, Skødstrup. The dusty bottles on the shelf testified that this was not the store’s most popular beer. Sampled 06.07.10, bought just a couple days earlier - "best before"-date was 14.06.10. Organic beer, ABV is 6%. Dark brown colour, hazy. Moderate off-white to beige head. Nice aroma of fruity hops, also notes of caramel and nuts. The flavour was fruity and acidic, nearly lemony. Definitely past its prime. |

6286 | Dos Equis XX Amber | Mexico | Vienna / Amber Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.5%. Copper to amber colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma, some fruit, grass and caramel. The flavour is at least more malty than the Especial, a little fruit and caramel again, but is otherwise rather bland and boring, with minimal hops. |

6287 | Chang Beer | Thailand | Pale Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 This beer seems to need a split in the BeerPal database - my 330 ml bottle (in France), simply named "Chang Beer", was a typical standard pale lager at 5.0% ABV, and can’t possibly be "the same beer" as a 6.4% "strong lager"??!! Anyhow, my beer pours with a golden colour and a large head. "Neutral" lager flavour, not offensive, moderate sweetness. Okay with a spicy Thai meal. |

6288 | Rosita | Spain | Blonde Ale | 2.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, as Rosita Original, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. ABV is 5.5%. Imported to Norway by Moestue Grape Selections AS. According to the Norwegian rear label, this is a spontaneously fermented ale (not sure if that is entirely true), with a secondary fermentation in the bottle. Hazy golden colour, large to low white head, decent lacing. Strong sweetish and "unfresh" aroma, distinct notes of stale marmalade and decaying / rotting fruits. The flavour is somewhat better than the aroma, wheaty and fairly refreshing character with hints of citrus. Won’t buy again though. |

6289 | Wold Top Against The Grain Export Strength | United Kingdom | Bitter | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml bottle, gluten free, new at Vinmonopolet. Export Strength - ABV is 4.8%. Golden colour, lagerish carbonation, but the white head is low. Sweetish fruity aroma, also notes of maize (corn). Lagerish mouthfeel, light bodied. Medium sweet flavour, maize and a little fruit, ending in a sharp and rather unpleasant bitterness. Little hop flavour besides the bitterness. As I don’t suffer from coeliac disease, this is not a beer I will buy again. |

6290 | Saku Kuld | Estonia | Pale Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml can, a gift. ABV is 5.2%. Very pale golden colour, large white head. Moderate sweetish aroma, some floral and grassy notes. Thin and watery mouthfeel. The flavour is quite bland, the hops are too modest, but there are no offensive side flavours. |

6292 | Lindesnes Gahre Pilsner | Norway | Kellerbier | 2.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 4 500 ml bottle, thanks to gunnar. ABV is 4.7%. Some sediment in the bottle. Hazy golden colour, large white head. Sweetish aroma and flavour of not-very-successful homebrewed pilsener, grassy, yeasty and woody notes. Decent hops in the finish. Overall not good enough, for a new microbrewery aiming to build a reputation. |

6293 | Närke Kulturbryggeri Tanngnjost & Tanngrisnir | Sweden | Strong Ale | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 On tap at HaandBryggeriet Beer Festival, Drammen. Deep orange to red colour, low head. Strong aroma of peat smoke and juniper smoke. The flavour is dominated by peat smoke and juniper smoke throughout. One-dimensional, not my cup of tea. |

6294 | Orkney Island Life | United Kingdom | IPA | 2.6
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml bottle, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 3.7%. Crystal clear golden colour, moderate white head. Disappointing aroma of wort and dust. Light bodied as expected. Citric flavour, with a sharp and slightly metallic bitterness. Very far from Orkney's best ale. |

6295 | Hansa Sterkøl | Norway | Strong Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml can, sold at Vinmonopolet. Peculiar yeasty (even though this is a filtered and pasteurised lager) sweet and fruity aroma. Flavour is nothing to shout hurrah! for (bland and alcoholic), very little aftertaste. You'll be so more happy drinking any Norwegian Christmas beer ('Juleøl') - just be sure to get the strong ("klasse F", Vinmonopolet) version. Beers like this one just aren't flavourful enough for winter, and not refreshing enough for summer! |

6296 | Trio Pilsner | Norway | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 (500 ml can). Pale golden colour, moderate head. Run of the mill pils, "neutral" flavour, thin mouthfeel. Nothing to write home about. Trio Bryggeri is a former soft drink factory that started brewing a few years after the old brewery in Skien, Lundetangen Bryggeri, was closed. |

6298 | Kragerø Pilsner | Norway | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml can. Contract brewed by Trio Bryggeri for Libo Trading (trade mark owner). I wouldn’t bet that this isn’t a re-label of Trio’s ordinary pilsner, but I can’t do a side-by-side comparison, so I can’t really tell. Like Trio Pilsner: Pale golden colour, moderate head. Run of the mill pils, "neutral" flavour, thin mouthfeel. Nothing to write home about. |

6299 | Mack Vårøl | Norway | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 (500 ml can). Typical pils pale golden colour, large head diminishing rapidly. Moderate herbal pils aroma, flavour is slightly drier than the ordinary Mack pilsener. Not offensive, but not much to remember either. With all the beer varieties Mack brew, you'd think they could come up with something more exciting than umpteen varieties of uninteresting lagers. |
