6201 | Dahls Jubileumsøl | Norway | Strong Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, at RBESG 2006. Strong "jubilee beer" from E.C. Dahls Bryggeri in Trondheim, now a Ringnes subsidiary. Golden colour. Strange sickly and moderately hoppy aroma. Flavour is mellow with a moderate maltiness, nothing spectacular. |

6202 | Grebbestad Lunator Dubbelbock | Sweden | Doppelbock | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. 2000 vintage, ABV for this vintage was 8.1%. Hazy brown colour, low head. Surprisingly pale for a doppelbock. Sweetish bakery aroma, some alcohol. Flavour is cloying malty sweet and one-dimensional. Disappointing. Drank it too warm though. |

6203 | MM Special | Bulgaria | Pale Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Sampled RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. Plastic bottle. ABV not mentioned on the label - 11% must be the malt content / gravity. Golden colour, low head. Butterscotch / diacetyl aroma. Standard pale lager flavour with some butterscotch added. |

6204 | Mo Glad Laks | Norway | Light / Lite Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 On tap at the brewpub / farm "gasthof". Served by the brewer himself, I also had a brief look at the brewery. ABV is 3.75%. The only beer on at the moment, but "Mørk Suldøl" is also a regular and the low ABV "Slåttøl" is a summer seasonal. The farm / brewery is situated next to one of Norway’s best salmon rivers. "Glad Laks" (= Happy Salmon = Jolly Fellow) is a golden lager, slightly hazy with a moderate head. Pleasant but moderate malty aroma, hints of butterscotch, toffee and melons. Flavour and mouthfeel are rather weak, with too modest hops. Some "dusty" / "dry" hops in the aftertaste. I expect the "Mørk Suldøl" to be better than this. |

6205 | Carlsberg Crown | Denmark | Strong Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 Bottle, bought in Denmark. "Danish malts, GLUCOSE SYRUP, Tasmanian hops" .... hmmm. Carlsberg’s attempt to make a beer with champagne-like qualities ... hmmm - I’m not a big fan of real champagne (price considered), but I’d definitely prefer real champagne for a celebration, if Carlsberg Crown were the best beer on offer. Fruity but not very strong aroma, bubbly/fizzy fruity flavour, not offensive but far from interesting. Alcohol is well hidden (behind what??). I am not a monarchist, but I think the happy couple deserved something better than this. |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, bought at Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.7%. Deep golden to amber colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Dull aroma of grain, just a hint of grassy hops. Fairly clean and refreshing flavour with grainy notes, a hint of caramel and very moderate hops. |

6208 | Emdbräu | Germany | Pale Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml can, bought in Spain. Brewed in the European Union for EMD Internationale Handelsgesells, Hans Martin Scheleyer Str. 2, D-77656 Offenburg, Germany, and European Marketing Distribution, CH-8808 Pfäffikon, Switzerland. Ingredients include maize and stabilizer E-405. ABV is 4.5%. Pale yellow colour, big and lasting white head. Sweetish and grassy pale lager aroma, not interesting but not awful either. Moderate carbonation in the glass. The flavour is also sweetish but not cloying, with just enough hops to make this an easy drinking beer. Good for quaffing, better for forgetting. |

6209 | Heart of Wales Innstable | United Kingdom | English Strong Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Cask (handpump), as Heart of Wales Inn Stable, at the Darlington Spring Thing beer festival 2011. ABV was 6.8%, according to the festival programme. Cloudy orange colour, low head. Aroma of unfermented wort, fruity and grassy (or rather: hay-like) hops. Poor condition, the flavour seems "unfinished" and "raw". Some caramel, hops and fusel alcohols, quite dry. Not much to brag about. |

6210 | Moosehead Pale Ale | Canada | Blonde Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 341 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 5%. Crystal clear pale yellow colour, large white head. Boring aroma, like an industrial pale lager: a little "dusty" malts, boiled vegetables and a weak hint of grassy hop. The flavour is much like a "premium" industrial lager, with some fruity and malty notes, and very modest hops in the finish. Not undrinkable, but pretty far from anything a decent brewery with some self respect would call a "pale ale". |

6211 | Mikkeller Drikkeriget GIPA | Denmark | IPA | 2.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, batch 01.01, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 6.6%. Malts are pilsener, pale and münchener (+ flaked oats), hops are Tomahawk for bittering and Tettnanger for aroma. Hazy golden colour, huge white head. Herbal and slightly spicy aroma, soon overtaken by less pleasant strong notes of stale orange marmalade. Lagerish mouthfeel. The flavour is initially refreshing, but is soon dominated by notes of stale orange marmalade again. Moderately bitter finish. Mikkeller’s least successful beer so far? Drinkable of course - but hey, this is Mikkeller, I expect something better than this! |

6212 | Unibroue Eau Benite | Canada | Abbey Tripel | 2.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, from Ølkonsortiet, Aalborg. BB date 31.12.2012. ABV is 7.7%. Golden colour, slightly hazy, huge white head. Strong sweetish stale malty and "unfresh" aroma, also some spicy notes. The flavour has some unfresh malts and acidic notes, hints of spices. Clearly past its prime. |

6214 | Holbæk Fjord Beer | Denmark | Blonde Ale | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml bottle, thanks to Tom. ABV is 3.5%. Pale golden colour, big to moderate white head. Smells like an industrial pale lager, some grassy hops, hints of honey, metallic notes. The flavour is somewhat better than the aroma, light bodied of course, but there are fairly decent hops thoughout. Bitter and slightly metallic aftertaste. |

6215 | Lade Gaards Brygghus Juleøl | Norway | Dunkel / Dark Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml bottle from REMA 1000. ABV is 4.7%. Copper colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate aroma of caramel malts, hints of chocolate. Thin and fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour is slightly acidic, with moderate notes of caramel malt and a hint of chocolate malt, without being very sweet. "Dusty" and empty finish. Not undrinkable, but definitely one of the most boring Yule beers you can get in Norway. |

6216 | Tennents Lager | United Kingdom | Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 5 440 ml can, as Wellpark Tennent’s, brewed at Wellpark Brewery, Glasgow. Bought in Spain. ABV is 4.0%. "Lager" is not part of the beer’s name, but I assume this is just a slightly weaker version of the ordinary Tennent’s Lager. Golden colour, moderate white head, some lacing. Weak sweetish and "industrial" aroma. Fairly refreshing flavour, tolerable hops, and not quite as thin as feared from a 4.0% lager. |

6217 | Bakaláø Svetlý Lezák 12° (Premium) | Czech Republic | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml brown bottle, a gift from gunnar, thanks. ABV is 5%. BB date 30.12.10. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Strange aroma of cooked vegetables, decaying fruit, malts and dust. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour has much the same elements as the aroma, dry and dusty, pretty weird - but some fresh hops in the finish make the drinking experience more tolerable. |

6218 | Bohemia | Mexico | Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, as Bohemia Clásica, now available in Norway. ABV is 4.8%. Ingredients include maize (corn), rice and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Pale golden colour, slightly hazy, moderate white head. "Dusty" and uninteresting aroma. The flavour has at least a hint of hops, so it could be said to be more interesting than Corona and Sol. Refreshing on a hot day. |

6219 | Theresianer Bock | Italy | Bock | 2.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 4 750 ml stylish bottle, shared with Tom at Øl & Mat-festivalen, Oslo. ABV 6.5%. Reddish colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate aroma of "dusty" malts and old hay. Flavour of malts and alcohol, minimal hops. Boring. Did not finish the bottle. |

6220 | Föroya Bjór Ekta Maltøl | Faroe Islands | Reduced Alcohol | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 4 500 ml clear plastic bottle, from a grocery store in Vestmanna. No ABV mentioned on the label, and yeast is not mentioned as an ingredient, but if the locals say it is 1.8%, so be it. At least it contains malts and Bavarian hops (and sugar). Dark brown colour, minimal beige head. Strong sweetish aroma of malts and caramel, a hint of smoke and seaweed. The flavour is very malty and very sweet, like a Danish hvidtøl, with loads of caramel. Good enough to drink if you have a sweet tooth, and have to drive ... |
