6127 | Amstel Lager | Netherlands | Pale Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 An average lager. Very average! I think it was better the first times I tried it, many years ago (pre-Heineken), but then, my taste may have changed. After they bought the Amstel brewery, Heineken seem to have decided that Amstel should be their "Number 2" brand, in respect of both quantity and quality. |

6129 | Sagres | Portugal | Pale Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Really a cross-breed between a European pale lager and an American standard, this is a pretty 'neutral' beer that should neither offend nor excite anyone (but it obviously has). I had it with seafood, at least it was a better choice than Kirin. |

6131 | Bangla | United Kingdom | Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 660 ml bottle, as Bangla Premium Beer, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.2%. Very cool design of bottle and label. Brewed and bottled in the UK for LWC Ltd., Manchester, M11 2ER. Pale yellow colour, big white head. Fairly nice flowery aroma. The flavour is rather sweet with noticeable pilsener malts, bordering on "sugary", but not quite there. Some floral notes, hints of alcohol but not disturbingly so. Low bitterness. Not a great beer, but not awful either, should be acceptable to wash down a curry. |

6132 | Mack Lys Pils | Norway | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, thanks to OleR. ABV is 4.7%. Unpretentious name and label design from Mack this time. Pale golden colour, big white head. Tolerable but sweetish pilsener aroma, notes of apples, grass and flowers. The flavour is fresh, slightly fruity and fairly crisp, but the finish is too "empty", more hoppy bitterness would be desirable. Goes down well though. |

6133 | Efes Dark | Turkey | Dunkel / Dark Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml clear bottle, brought home from Turkey by my wife. ABV is 6.1%. Dark reddish brown colour, big greyish beige head. Smells "thin" and metallic, also notes of cooked vegetables and wet cardboard. The flavour is first tolerably malty with notes of brown bread and some caramel, without being very sweet. Some fruity acidity in the middle. Dull finish, minimal hops. Clearly drinkable, but boring. Don’t expect to find anything much better than this in Turkey, though. |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, "Norwegian" version, 4.5% ABV. Brown colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate aroma, notes of malts, caramel and heather honey. The flavour has notes of brown bread and caramel, but is otherwise fairly bland and boring. Minimal hops |

6136 | Svaneke Bornholmer Bryg Skipper Clements American Pale Ale | Denmark | American Pale Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 2 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. Unfiltered APA. ABV is 4.7%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate carbonation. The aroma has notes of fruity American hops, but unfortunately also strong and disgusting notes of vomit. The flavour has moderate but decent hops throughout, but lacks a bit of malty backbone. Bitter aftertaste. What a pity about the aroma! A bad bottle? If that was the case, I’d think the flavour would be flawed too? |

6137 | Pausa Café P.I.L.S. | Italy | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.7
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. According to the label, ABV is 4.8%, brewery website says 4.7%. Golden colour, minimal white head. Nice aroma of Saaz hops, floral, fruity and herbal notes. Minimal carbonation in the glass. The flavour is very sweet (too sweet) and sugary for a pilsener, notes of fruits and herbs too, decent hoppy bittterness in the finish. The excessive sweetness and minimal carbonation might be due to a production error, the beer has been retired from Vinmonopolet before it came for sale there. Still drinkable as it is. |

6138 | Okkara Klassik | Faroe Islands | Vienna / Amber Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 4 On tap at the Faroe Islands tent at the ONS fair, Stavanger. Served too cold for a Classic, but I fear a slightly higher temperature would not have helped much. Brown colour, moderate creamy white head. The aroma has notes of grassy hops, hints of caramel. Bland flavour, dry and "dusty", just a hint of caramel but not very sweet. Very moderate hops in the finish. |

6139 | Saku Originaal | Estonia | Pale Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Rerate 500 ml bottle, from a potential importer. ABV is 4.6%. Very pale yellow colour, large white head. Fairly strong sweetish and grassy aroma. The flavour is rather sweet, again with some grassy notes, and the bitterness is too moderate. Far from undrinkable, though. |

6140 | Aspall Medium Dry Suffolk Cyder | United Kingdom | Cider | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml capped bottle, from Bunnpris Gourmet Middelthon. ABV is 4.6%. Extremely pale yellow colour, pours fizzy with a white head that actually lasts a while. Strong aroma of oxidised cider apples, notes of sulphites and oak. Medium dry (or medium sweet, if you like) flavour of cider apples, with some less pleasant sourish and "artificial" notes. Thin mouthfeel. Hints of sulphites and oak. Drinkable, but clearly not Aspall’s best cider. |

6141 | Club Colombia Extra Fina Roja | Colombia | Vienna / Amber Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting, as Club Colombia Extra Fina Roja, thanks to abemorsten. ABV is 4.7%. Orange to amber colour, low head. Moderate aroma, a little toffee and caramel, a little fruit and grain. The flavour has moderate notes of toffee and caramel, not as bad as I feared. |

6142 | Lindesnes Imsa Pale Ale | Norway | English Pale Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml bottle, thanks to the ever generous beer enthusiast gunnar. ABV is 4.7%. Cloudy brown colour, large off-white head. Smell of not-quite-fully-fermented homebrew, some fruity notes (green apples) and dusty malts, some woody notes too. The flavour is woody and medium dry, some fruity notes makes the beer drinkable. Bitter finish. Woody aftertaste. Could have been worse, but Lindesnes Brygghus has apparently a long way to go. |

Sugary aroma of peach candy and ripe peaches. Medium sweet flavour of peaches and peach candy, very little acidity. Not much lambic character here. |

6144 | Amager Danish Beerhouse Barrel Aged Series Old Mans Ale | Denmark | Old Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 5 250 ml bottle, from the brewery. Batch #86. BB end of 2020. ABV is 14%. Dark brown colour, hardly any head nor any carbonation. Aroma of oak, malts, calvados and molasses. Warming mouthfeel. Very oaky and alcoholic sweet flavour, notes of calvados, brown kandij sugar and dark dried fruits. The total lack of carbonation is not to my liking. |

"Dusty" and grainy aroma, a hint of old jam. Citric mouthfeel, but not too fizzy. The flavour is malty and slightly citric, low bitterness, fairly refreshing. |

6146 | Oppigårds Indian Tribute | Sweden | IPA | 2.7
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 May 2014: Shared bottle at local tasting. Deep orange to reddish amber colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of slightly unfresh orange marmalade. Medium sweet flavour, notes of piney hops, again unfresh orange marmalade. Drinkable, but not Oppigård’s best. |

Distinct aroma of mango and passionfruit, some wheaty, yeasty and piney notes too. Citric and fizzy mouthfeel. Wheaty, yeasty and fruity flavour - not very sweet, but too yeasty. Less distinct mango and passionfruit than expected. Hints of pine needles and juniper twigs. Won't buy again. |

6149 | Clausthaler Hefeweizen | Germany | Reduced Alcohol | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Feb. 2014: 500 ml can, as Clausthaler Weizen, from a REMA 1000 store. Brewed in Germany, canned by Hansa-Borg in Bergen. Cloudy orange colour, large to moderate white head. Surprisingly "normal " hefeweizen aroma of banana and cloves. The flavour is fairly bland, but still rather refreshing due to some citrussy notes and moderate hefeweizen characteristics. The finish however is very bland and dull, with hints of boiled vegetables. As a non-alcoholic beer, it is definitely not the worst of its kind. |

6150 | Lilland Weissbier | Norway | Hefeweizen | 2.7
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, from Lilland's off-licence. ABV is 4.7%. The glass fills completely by white foam, and the hazy golden beer appears only slowly. Aroma of yeast (far too yeasty), also notes of wheat and cloves. The flavour is also too yeasty, and moderately citric, notes of grain, hints of cloves. Still drinkable. Banana, yeast and grain in the aftertaste. |
