5901 | Hansens Brauerei Pilsener | Germany | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Draught at the brewpub / restaurant. Golden colour, low head, slightly hazy. Minimal aroma. Average pilsener flavour with a certain hoppy bitterness. "Improved" when I finished it with my matjes herrings, like a pilsener normally would. |

5904 | Flensburger Winterbock | Germany | Bock | 2.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml swingtop bottle, bought in Germany. Golden colour, fizzy, large head. Fairly strong sweet and alcoholic aroma, notes of molasses and ammonium, hints of oak and fermenting fruits, not very pleasant. Flavour is malty, too alcoholic and sweet, low bitterness. Pale strong lagers rarely make me happy, and this one is no exception to the rule. Still drinkable - I’ve had worse. |

5905 | Wuld Pilsen | Spain | Pale Lager | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 330 ml can, bought in Tenerife. Named Wuld Pilsen, Quality Premium Beer. Crystal clear and very pale golden colour, lasting foamy head and nice lacing. Fruity and grassy aroma. Soft mouthfeel with a very subdued flavour, very moderate hops. No offensive side-flavours detected. A tolerable industrial pale lager for the Spanish sun. |

5906 | Ringnes Nunavut | Norway | Vienna / Amber Lager | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 440 ml can. Amber colour, moderate off-white head, poor retention. Weak aroma, faint notes of caramel and hops. Flavour has some toffee notes and acceptable hops. Drinkable beer, but no masterpiece. Allegedly inspired by Ringnes’ sponsoring of Norwegian polar expeditions 1890s - 1920s, but the members of those expeditions drank proper Ringnes dark bock, not this swill! |

5908 | Karlsberg Karlsbrau | Germany | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Draught in Nice, France. Golden colour, decent head. Moderate aroma. Tolerable hoppy bitterness in the flavour and aftertaste. Not a "big" beer, but a decent and drinkable pils, as far as I'm concerned. Some more aromatic hops would have been nice, though. |

5909 | Fischer La Belle (Tradition) | France | Pale Lager | 2.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 650 ml swingtop bottle, named "Fischer Tradition", bought in France. Golden colour, large head, leaves a nice lacing. Nice fruity sweet aroma, notes of grass too, hints of spices. Flavour is your average pale lager with some alcoholic sweet notes added. I might have guessed that the ABV was even higher than its 6.0%. I have definitely had better beers, but I’ve had worse too! Not a beer to search out, but the empty bottle will be useful for your homebrew. |

5910 | Zywiec | Poland | Lager | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Rerate, 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger, as Zywiec Original Beer. ABV is 5.6%. Yellow/golden colour, decent head. Strong sweetish aroma, notes of candy, pilsener malts and a certain fruitiness. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is not as sweet as the aroma makes me fear. There is a noticeable maltiness, with very discrete hops in the finish. OKish, easy drinking. Original rating: Draught in Krakow. I think it was called Zywiec Pils on the (English) drinks list, but I presume this is the same beer. Golden colour, moderate head, moderate carbonation. A fairly decent standard pils in my book. |

5914 | Stolichno Temno Bock | Bulgaria | Bock | 2.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Sampled RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting, 44 cl can. Brewed in Stara Zagora. The brewery is now owned by Heineken. Reddish brown colour. Sweetish malty aroma, kind of sickly. Flavour is also (too) malty sweet, moderately roasty, one-dimensional. |

5917 | CB Magnum Mørk | Norway | Dunkel / Dark Lager | 2.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Reddish brown beer with a good head. Weak aroma. This is supposed to be some kind of Munich Dunkel, but isn't nearly as good as the best Dunkels ("Bayer" in Norway). Pils + colour is not enough to make a good Dunkel, a decent amount of malts is needed too! Thin and watery mouthfeel like most CB beers. Still, there's more flavour in this one than in CB's bland pilseners. Not as sweet as I expected, at least you can taste the hops. Drinkable, but not much more. |

5919 | Aass Havørn Pilsner | Norway | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 A continental style pilsener, clean taste, fairly well balanced but a bit on the light side. Brewed by Aass to get market shares in Nordland county (North Norway), sold in southern Norway as well. You could easily drink quite a few of these under the midnight sun. |

5920 | Kraus Hirschaid Pils | Germany | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml brown bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Pale golden colour, decent head. Unusual aroma for a German pils: butterscotch, boiled vegetables, rotting grass, some malts. Where are the aromatic hops? Aroma gets slightly better as the beer warms up a little, and the butterscotch dominates. Flavour is somewhat better than the aroma, there’s a certain hoppy bitterness on a moderate and slightly sweet malty base, hints of butterscotch in the background. Drinkable, but Kraus Lager is better! |

5922 | Deya Guten Morgen, Pet | United Kingdom | Hefeweizen | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 375 ml bottle, from Seven Cellars. ABV is 5.2%. Very pale straw colour, slightly hazy. Moderate white head. Aroma of yeast, dust, rubber, citrus, lemongrass and cloves. Citric mouthfeel. Yeasty and citric flavour, notes of lemon zest, lemongrass and dust, a hint of cloves. Low bitterness. Not awful, but nearly every genuine German Hefeweizen I've had is better than this one. |

The flavour is smooth and slightly citric with a moderate sweetness, moderate herbal hops in the finish. Not too bad. |

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml bottle, BB date yesterday. ABV is 6.1%. Hazy brownish-orange colour, moderate white head. Strong aroma of brettanomyces / farmhouse, solvent, lemons and vinegar. Medium sour flavour, notes of oak, oaked wine, over-ripe lemons and red wine vinegar. Medium bitter finish. Not quite my cup of tea. |
