5702 | Angry Orchard Crisp Apple | United States | Cider | 3.0
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle at the Flying Horse, Gatwick Airport. ABV is 5%. Golden colour, sparkling, moderate white head. Aroma of cider apples with some strange and unusual notes, hints of decaying fruits and wet basement. Sweet flavour of eating apples, not very crisp at all. I declined the bartender's offer of some ice in the glass, I should have accepted. Did not finish the bottle. Won’t buy again. |

5704 | Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale | United States | American Pale Ale | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 355 ml bottle, from Fakta, Denmark. BB date 30.05.2014. ABV is 5%. Amber colour, slightly hazy with some floaties. Moderate off-white head. Aroma of caramelized stale orange marmalade, basement and dust, a whiff of solvent. Soft mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. The flavour is mild with a slight fruitiness, the finish is drier and "dusty" with very moderate hops. Has apparently not had any benefit from cellaring, might rerate if I find a fresh bottle. |

5712 | Bryghuset Braunstein BB Amber Lager | Denmark | Marzen / Oktoberfest | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml brown bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 5.2%. Amber colour, slightly hazy. Fizzy head, poor head retention. Nice hoppy aroma, notes of fruit and honey. Fizzy mouthfeel, which takes away some of the drinking pleasure for me. The flavour is reasonably well hopped, hints of caramel, butterscotch and yeast. Possibly a slightly infected bottle. Could have been better, could have been worse. Will try another bottle later. |

5719 | Tullibardine 1488 Majestic Whisky Ale | United Kingdom | Scottish Ale | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, as "Tullibardine 1488 Majestic Whisky Ale", bought in Edinburgh. ABV is 7.0%. Brewed and bottled by Traditional Scottish Ales Ltd. for the Tullibardine Distillery, using the distillery’s spring water and malted barley. Clear and deep golden colour, pours very fizzy, when the fizziness subsides just a small white head remains. Strange aroma, sweetish / sugary and oaky, with peaty and fruity notes. The flavour is very sweet and alcoholic. There are notes of whisky casks and peat as expected, but I also expected something far drier and maybe more "scotch & club soda"-like, not this overwhelming sweetness. Are there any hops in this beer at all? Still, when you get used to the sweetness, the beer is drinkable - but remains a disappointment. |

5720 | Cerveja Super Bock Abadia | Portugal | Vienna / Amber Lager | 3.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, now available in Norway (Vinmonopolet). ABV is 6.4%. Clear amber colour, large and lasting off-white head. Fruity and flowery hops in the aroma, some sugary notes too. The flavour is malty sweet and sugary, notes of caramel. Low bitterness. I drank the beer at cellar temperature +, it will probably taste better when cold. |

5721 | Utenos | Lithuania | Pale Lager | 3.0
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 5%. Pale golden colour, large head. Moderate sweetish aroma with notes of pale lager wort, hints of maize (corn) too, some fruity aromatic hops. Moderate carbonation in the glass, soft mouthfeel. The flavour has some malty sweetness and tolerable hops in the finish. Not too bad for a standard pale lager, but I preferred their Pilsener. |
