5302 | Mort Subite Xtreme Kriek | Belgium | Fruit Lambic | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 250 ml bottle, from Carrefour, Cartagena, Spain. ABV is 4.3%. Lambic brewed with 10% cherries and elderberries, sugar and sweetener. Gusher bottle. Red colour, moderate pinkish-white head. Intense aroma of preserved cherries and cherry candy. The flavour is intensely sweet and fruity, notes of cherry candy, but not very sour. Hints of marzipan. Good in its own perverted way - there is not much here to remind you that this actually is a beer, though. |

5304 | Revelation Cat Milk Mild | Netherlands | Mild Ale | 3.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Bottle, as Whole Milk Mild, at Schouskjelleren, Oslo. ABV 3.5%. Brewed for Alex Liberati at Brouwerij de Molen. OG 1037, FG 1011, IBU 22.1. Hops are Premiant and Sladek. Unfiltered. "Each label scratched by a genuine cat." Dark brown colour, large beige head. Intense aroma of pine wood, stale sea water and ashes, possibly infected? The flavour is lactic and smooth, a slight roastiness, just a hint of wood and sea water. |

5305 | Charles Wells Bombardier Burning Gold | United Kingdom | Bitter | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml clear bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.7%. Golden colour, moderate white head. First a fairly nice aroma of Fuggles and Goldings hops, and, as our American friends would point out: some "skunk" due to the clear bottle. Hints of toffee too, but ending "artificial" and weird. The flavour is fairly dry, and the mouthfeel is not particularly rich. Some toffee again, and tolerable hops - but really not a beer to blow my socks off. Won’t buy again. |

5306 | Lervig Brewers Reserve Lervigs Jul | Norway | Belgian Ale | 3.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.8%. Copper to brown colour, large off-white head. Spicy aroma, notes of star anise, ginger and brown kandij sugar. A hint of vomit. Fairly light bodied for its strength. The flavour is rather sweet with notes of caramel, brown kandij sugar, anise and ginger. Too moderate hops. As I hate star anise in beer (if not used with the utmost moderation), this beer starts with a real handicap in my book. And if you use ginger, a slight ginger burn in the finish would be nice. But hey, Lervigs Jul is drinkable - just not Mike Murphy’s best. |

5307 | The Duck-Rabbit Märzen | United States | Marzen / Oktoberfest | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 355 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika. ABV is 4.8%. Hazy orange-brown colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Aroma of wood, resin, smoke and ashes, hints of caramel. The flavour has first some malty sweetness with caramel, but ends dry and ashy. Quite moderate resinous hops. Hints of smoke. Drinkable, but not something I’ll buy again. |

5308 | Theresianer Premium Pils Non Filtrata | Italy | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 750 ml bottle from Vinmonopolet (bestillingsutvalget), the unfiltered version of Theresianer Premium Pils. ABV is 5%. Very pale yellow colour, slightly hazy. Moderate but lasting white head. Strong aroma of grassy and herbal hops and sweetish pilsener malts. The flavour is fairly crisp and refreshing, not too sweet, with decent herbal hops again. Not bad. |

5309 | St. Feuillien Blonde | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml stubby bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.5%. Clear pale yellow colour, huge and lasting white head. The aroma has distinct notes of anise and other spices. Light bodied and refreshing for its strength. The flavour is not too sweet, and has also strong notes of anise, quite unusual in such a pale beer. Unfortunately I am not a big fan of anise in beer ... |

5310 | Delirium Red | Belgium | Fruit Beer | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml mock "stoneware" bottle, red foil top. ABV is 8.5%. Will soon be available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Ingredients include cherries, cherry juice, elderberry juice, sugar, flavouring and sweetener. Hazy red colour, large pink head. Strong aroma of cherries and elderberries, hints of almonds and marzipan. The flavour is sweet with strong notes of cherries and elderberries as expected, somewhat "unfresh", but also an unexpected sharpish bitterness in the finish. Not really great. |

5314 | Balholm Malus Domestica Dessertvin av Eple Økologisk | Norway | Cider | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml clear bottle, from Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. ABV is 19%. The label does not say anything about this being a fortified cider / apple wine (with distilled alcohol added), nor anything about the "ice cider" method being used, but it is rather amazing if it has fermented to 19%. Yes, I added it to the BeerPal database, but I am prepared that it might have to go. Golden colour, no carbonation. The aroma is first boozy / alcoholic, after a minute in the glass the aroma is surprisingly moderate - dusty, with notes of apples of course, but not nearly as intense as I expected. The flavour, on the other hand, is definitely intense and concentrated, loads of sweet apples, oak and alcohol, hints of young sherry. Okay to accompany apple pie and ice cream for dessert, I guess - but I doubt that I will buy this apple wine again. |

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 330 ml shared swingtop bottle, at local tasting. ABV 7.5%. Murky brown colour (end of bottle), low off-white head. Unusual and strong aroma, notes of yeast, spices, over-ripe fruits and caramel. Very fruity flavour, moderate acidity, okay but not particularly exciting. |

5316 | Midtfyns Påskebryg | Denmark | American Pale Ale | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 6.8%. Deep golden colour, large white head. Aroma of butterscotch, caramel and fudge. The flavour has lots of butterscotch, probably some caramel malts but also diacetyl? Medium sweet, with moderate hops for balance. As they say the beer is "American inspired", it probably means that the hops are American, but the hops sure don’t dominate. And I doubt that American beer geeks would be very happy about the diacetyl ... Well, I for one do not get automatically hysterical when I detect butterscotch in beer, so I find Midtfyns Påskebryg quite drinkable. But as there are better beers available on the Norwegian market now, this is probably not one I’ll buy again. |

5317 | Bømmeløen Hløkk American Pale Ale | Norway | American Pale Ale | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 330 ml bottle, from Rema 1000, Tau. ABV is 4.7%. Hazy deep golden to orange colour, moderate to small white head. Moderate but decent aroma of fruity American hops, hints of pine too. The flavour is first moderately malty, then distinct bittering hops take over, but there is not much complexity. Still better than I feared. |

Aroma of moderately roast malts, only hints of vanilla and orange peel. Slightly sourish flavour with moderately roast malts, slightly dry. Hints of orange peel, surprisingly little vanilla for a beer called "vanilla porter". Very moderate hops. |
