Aug. 2022: Shared bottle at Bryne tasting. Golden colour, moderately sparkling. Aroma and flavour of honey and birch sap, medium sweet. Fairly interesting.

750 ml bottle, vintage 2021, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 10%. Clear orange to pink-ish red colour, pours sparkling with a large but shortlived head. Distinct aroma of raspberries, honey and birch sap in the background. The flavour has distinct honey sweetness, again with strong notes of raspberries, hints of birch sap. Probably well made, but I find it hard to decide how much I really like this product - which means that I won't buy it again.

Oct. 2014: Shared 750 ml corked and caged bottle at local tasting, from the museum shop at Koldinghus castle. Deep amber colour, white head. Nice aroma of honey, sweet malts and mild spices. Sweet flavour, loads of honey, malts and spices. This is, after all, a beer with mead added - not a mead with beer added.

Flavour like the aroma, sweet and alcoholic. Won't buy again, there are better Belgian strong ales out there.

Aroma of roast malts, chocolate and some caramel. Roast malts in the flavour, not too sweet, notes of dark chocolate, sharpish bittering hops in the aftertaste.

330 ml can, batch #666, beer #24 in the Selfish Games series, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 6.8%. Medium hazy yellow colour, moderate white head. Aroma of blood oranges and apricots. Citric mouthfeel. The flavour has notes of blood oranges and apricots again, hints of lemons, some slightly metallic notes too.

July 2012: On tap as Lervig Take It Easy, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 2.7%. Deep golden colour, large white head. Strong aroma of citrussy and catty hops, also notes of pine and crushed gooseberries. Light bodied as expected. The dry flavour is dominated by piney and grapefruity hops throughout. Bitter finish. Maybe not very "well balanced", but tasty and refreshing, and definitely more flavourful than most beers of this strength.

Malty flavour first, a little fruit, then a distinct bitterness of resinous and grapefruity American hops.

March 2007: 330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 5.0%. Brown colour, low head. Moderate but pleasant fruity aroma, hints of spices. The flavour is spicy with moderate malts, not very sweet, pleasant to drink. Relatively high carbonation in the glass. This is not an "extreme" Belgian ale in any way, and no "challenge" for the beer enthusiast, but probably an ale that most people will like.

Light to thin body, dry flavour, some grapefruity and piney notes, medium bitter finish. An okay summer refreshment, but clearly not Ægir’s best beer.

330 ml green bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 4.8%. Clear pale golden colour, moderate white head. Fresh grassy and slightly citric and floral aroma. Crisp pilsener flavour (not too sweet) with well balanced herbal and slightly citric notes throughout. A very nice pilsener, no more, no less - and I feel no need to have a shot of Fernet Branca at the side. Might well drink this one again.

500 ml bottle, as Ørbæk Falkoner New England IPA Økologisk, from Dagli'brugsen, Tylstrup. Organic. ABV is 5%. Slightly hazy deep golden colour, large white head. Aroma of orange marmalade, stale jam and pine. Malty and fruity flavour with low bitterness. Drinkable and refreshing, but not exciting.
