4701 | Inderøy Kvamsholmer | Norway | Kölsch | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Brew #840. ABV is 4.5%. Pale golden colour, fairly clear, just a faint haziness. Big to moderate white head. Aroma of artificial "banana candy" (not very pleasant), also notes of honey, coriander and cloves. Fizzy mouthfeel. Like others have said the flavour is very estery and "wheat beer"-like, notes of coriander, cloves and banana (but not too much), refreshing and not too sweet. Moderate hops in the finish. |

4702 | Nethergate Red Santa | United Kingdom | Bitter | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Bottle conditioned, ABV is 4.2%. Brewed with rye, and Boadicea as single hop variety. Deep brown coloured beer, low off-white head. Nice and perfumed aroma of butterscotch, treacle, red fruits (esp. cranberries) and mild Christmas spices. The mouthfeel is quite thin for a Christmas ale. The flavour is fairly fruity with moderate hops and Christmas spices in the finish. Okay beer, but for Christmas I want something with a fuller mouthfeel than this one. |

4703 | Aass Jubeløl (Jubileum 175 år) | Norway | Vienna / Amber Lager | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 Sample from 500 ml can, Aass Brewery stand at Smak 09. ABV is 4.7%. Deep golden colour, moderate head. Moderate notes of caramel in the aroma. The flavour has moderate caramel malts and a moderate bitterness in the finish. Drinkable, but not very exciting. You’d think they would come up with something better for a jubilee. |

4704 | Vedett Extra White | Belgium | Witbier | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml green stubby bottle, Strag stand at Smak 09. ABV in Norway is 4.7%. Pale golden colour, slightly hazy, low head. Citrussy / lemony aroma, notes of coriander too. Lemony flavour, notes of coriander, but lacks the rounded character of some other witbiers. Still a nice summer refreshment. |

4705 | Schneider Weisse Tap 5: Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen Weisse | Germany | Strong Ale | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 On tap at The Rover, Göteborg, as Schneider & Brooklyn Hopfen Weisse. ABV was 8.2%. Deep golden to amber colour, hazy. Unfiltered and unpasteurised pilsener (or rather: Kellerbier), brewed with organic ingredients. Cloudy golden colour, moderate white head. 4707 | Westons Premium Organic Cider | United Kingdom | Cider | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. Contains sulphites. Pours very fizzy with a shortlived white head, the cider is pale golden, crystal clear. The initially aggressive carbonation soon subsides in the glass, and the mouthfeel is fairly soft. Aroma of cider apples and farmhouse kitchen, hints of oak. The flavour is of course dominated by cider apples and oak, sulphites are noticeable. Slightly astringent finish. Easy drinking. |

4708 | Orchards Farm House Dry Cider | United Kingdom | Cider | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml clear screwcap bottle, now available in Norway at Vinmonopolet. ABV is 6.7%. Hazy with some sediment in the bottle. Pours hazy deep golden, no carbonation. Very nice aroma of cider apples, farmhouse kitchen and oak, hints of sulphites. The flavour is fairly dry, tart cider apples dominate, hints of spices, oak and sulphites. I must admit I’d like just a little carbonation for a "fresher" mouthfeel, but this is still a nice and drinkable cider, if your preferences are on the dry side. Personally I wouldn’t mind a bit more sweetness. |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 Bottle, 11% ABV, as Southern Tier Oak Aged Un*Earthly India Pale Ale, RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Deep golden colour. 4713 | Kongens Bryghus Broyhan Rød | Denmark | Amber Ale | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Bottle, RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Deep golden to amber colour, low head. Dusty malts in the aroma. Fairly dry flavour, some hops in the finish. Not very interesting. Rerate: Had the rest of the bottle with dinner, and found a pleasant balance between the malts and hops. I’m upping it a few points. (Went very well with my "vossakorv, komler & kålrabi".) |

4714 | Hoppin' Frog Mean Manalishi | United States | Imperial IPA | 3.3

Big off-white head with an orangey hue. Intense sickly sweetish aroma of stale and caramellized orange marmalade and loads of American hops, not very pleasant. Intense flavour of American hops, partly balanced by a substantial sweetness. The flavour is better than the aroma, but this is still not my favourite beer. |

4715 | Valhalla Old Scatness | United Kingdom | Bitter | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Like all bottled beers from this brewery, it is filtered to remove all remaining yeast (but possibly not pasteurised?). ABV is 4.0%. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Fairly boring "dusty" aroma. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is better than the aroma, some fruity hops, quite refreshing. A sharpish bitterness in the aftertaste. |

ABV is 5%. Pale golden brown colour, huge head, slightly off-white. Sweetish aroma of malts, blueberry jam, caramel and butterscotch. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is fruity (blueberries) and fairly refreshing, but is suffering from a lack of hops. Bland finish. |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, bought at Føtex or SuperBest, Aalborg. ABV is 4.8%. Hazy pale golden colour, big to moderate white head. Typical hefeweizen aroma of ripe bananas, bubblegum and cloves. The mouthfeel is a bit thin. The flavour has first a slight acidity, then the usual h.w. characteristics of cloves and citrus, but not as pronounced as in the best beers of its kind. Some "dusty" notes too, bland finish. |
