Beer No. 1 of my 7 beers flight at the brewery tap. Cloudy blonde colour, white head. Fairly decent and typical hefeweizen aroma and flavour, citrussy and refreshing, with the expected notes of banana and cloves. Fair enough.

Nov. 2014: Shared 310 ml bottle at local tasting, thanks to our beerpal Olav. ABV is 7%. Amber colour, moderate to low white (or slightly off-white) head. Aroma of fruity and piney American hops, also some less pleasant notes of dust and stale cocoa. Flavour of piney and grapefruity hops, also unsweetened cocoa / pale chocolate malts.

500 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.0%. Moderately hazy pale golden colour, large white head. Aroma of over-ripe yellow plums, also citrus and over-ripe pineapple. Fizzy mouthfeel. Flavour of citrus, hints of pineapple, with a fairly distinct piney / resinous bitterness.

Aug. 2018: Cask half pint at The Lamplighter, St. Helier. Served at correct cellar temperature. Golden colour, nice lacing. Moderate aroma. The flavour is slightly dry, with tingling hops in the finish.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Opaque pale yellow colour, large white head. Aroma of canned peaches and tropical fruits. Flavour with the same elements, medium sweet. Low bitterness. Too much lactose.

440 ml can, as Vocation Versions Jump for Juice Passionfruit Pale, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%. Slightly hazy pale straw colour, small white head. Aroma of passionfruit, hints of mango and citrus. Citric flavour, passionfruit in the background. Low bitterness. Refreshing and easy drinking.

330 ml can, from Helgø Meny, Kvadrat. ABV is 4.7%. Chestnut to mahogany colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of caramel, brown bread with syrup, hints of brittle. The flavour is not too sweet, but has the same elements as the aroma, with a hint of prunes. Hardly any bitterness.

Feb. 2015: 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar,Stavanger. ABV is 5.2%. Hazy pale golden colour (I shook the bottle vigorously to get all the sediment dissolved, which almost certainly enhances the flavour), large white head. Aroma of newmown grass and herbs, a hint of citrus. The flavour is fresh, wheaty-like and citrussy, very refreshing. Some herbal hops, but not very bitter. A great summer beer!

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Odda. ABV is 5.0%. Pale golden colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of citrus, pineapple and lychee. Citrus in the flavour too, moderate to low bitterness. Simple, but drinkable.

Sep. 2020: 440 ml can, from Seven Cellars. ABV is 5%. Dry hops are Ekuanot and Mosaic. Cloudy and very pale yellow colour, large white head. Distinct and pleasant aroma of citrus fruits and spruce, hints of tropical fruits and pine. Dry flavour, citric and piney, but the bitterness is too moderate.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 10%. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Small beige head. Aroma of salty liquorice and malts, disappointing. Warming mouthfeel. Sweet flavour, notes of malts, alcohol, aquavit spices, liquorice, caramel and oak.

500 ml bottle, from Nærbutikken, Åkrafjordtunet. ABV is 4.7%. Very pale golden colour, large white head. Pleasant aroma of herbal and floral hops. Crisp and dry flavour, decent herbal hops, bitter aftertaste.

Oct. 2019: 330 ml bottle, batch #235, from Bris Ølutsalg, Jørpeland. ABV is 4.7%. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate off-white to beige head. Aroma of moderately roast malts, mild coffee, hints of spices. The medium dry flavour has also moderately roast malts with hints of chocolate and prunes, and moderate but still distinct spices. Smooth and pleasant to drink.

December 2018: Shared 330 ml bottle. ABV 8.0%. Reddish amber colour, off-white head. Moderate aroma of brown kandij sugar syrup, caramel and mild spices. The flavour is not very sweet, but has some of the same elements as the aroma. Very moderate hops.

330 ml can, version 1, from Vinmonopolet Norheimsund. ABV is 6.0%. Murky yellow colour, lots of floaties, moderate to small white head. Strong aroma of over-ripe peaches, apricots and pineapple. Citric and peachy flavour, notes of vanilla and lactose, moderate bittering hops.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Hazy and very pale yellow colour, large white head. Moderate spicy and herbal aroma. Light bodied. Refreshing flavour, medium dry, with spicy and herbal notes, moderate bitterness.

330 ml bottle, batch #2250, from Helgø MENY, Hundvåg. ABV is 4.5%. Murky yellow colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of citrus, peaches and tropical fruits. Citric mouthfeel. Flavour of citrus and pine needles, medium dry, moderate bitterness.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Sola. ABV is 10.0%. Hops are Citra, Ekuanot, Galaxy, Mosaic and Simcoe. Opaque / murky yellow colour, moderate white head. Strong aroma of over-ripe pineapple, papaya and guava, hints of citrus and sprucetips. Sweet (too sweet?) flavour of said over-ripe fruits and alcohol. Low to moderate bitterness.

500 ml can, as Gardsbrenneriet Attåt Handverksider, made of apples, strawberries and rhubarb, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5%. Clear signal red colour, pours moderately sparkling with a small and shortlived pink head. Aroma of apples and strawberries, a hint of rhubarb. Medium sweet flavour of apples, strawberries and rhubarb.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. Gluten free. ABV is 7.5%. Cola colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of dark malts, brown bread, brittle, caramel and burnt breadcrumbs. Moderately sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, moderate but noticeable bittering hops.

April 2014: Shared bottle at local tasting. Golden colour. Sweetish aroma, notes of white kandij sugar syrup and spicy Belgian ale yeast. The flavour is not as sweet as I feared, quite nice actually. Mild spicy notes.

On tap at Mandag i Annen, Cardinal, Stavanger. Golden colour, white head. Grapefruity aroma and flavour, moldy hints, sharp-ish piney finish. Will sample again.

330 ml can, from Meny Hundvåg. ABV is 4.7%. Very dark brown colour, large to moderate beige head. Aroma of malts, Christmas spices and orange peel. Smooth flavour with malts and caramel, but not too sweet. The Christmas spices are distinct, but not overdone. Only a hint of orange peel. Very moderate hops. Pleasant to drink.

November 2015: Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Hops are Warrior, Columbus and Summit. IBU 100+. Golden colour, slightly hazy. White head. Hoppy aroma, notes of grass, lemons and green apples. Flavour of citrussy and peppery hops, a rather harsh bitterness in the finish.
