Dec. 2013: Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Cloudy brown colour, huge off-white head. Sweetish aroma of old jam, malts, herbal hops and oak. The flavour is medium sweet and vinous, notes of raisins and oak.

330 ml can, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Opaque pale yellow colour, moderate white head. Nice citric aroma. Citrus in the flavour too, refreshing, with a sharpish bitterness in the finish.

500 ml can, probably from Bunnpris Sauda. ABV is 4.5%, IBU 25. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Large to moderate beige head. Aroma of Christmas spices and gingerbread: cardamom, coriander seeds, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. I feared the flavour would be too sweet, but it is not. Fairly light bodied, with just enough malts to support the distinct notes of said spices. A moderate hop bitterness in the aftertaste.

June 2019: 375 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 9.2%. Against the Grain is not mentioned on the label. Very dark reddish brown colour, nearly black. Small beige head. Sourish aroma of brettanomyces / farmhouse, lactic acid, red wine vinegar and oak, hints of bourbon and vanilla. Very sour flavour (too sour?) with distinct notes of red wine vinegar and lactic acid.

Oct. 2020: 750 ml corked & caged bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 9.666%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Aroma of ripe and over-ripe raspberries. Sour flavour of raspberries, lemons and lactic acid. Only a hint of oak and whiskey.

March 2015: 375 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. 2014 / Batch 11. ABV is 4.2%. Golden colour, low white head. Pleasant brettanomyces aroma, notes of farmhouse kitchen and mild spices, hints of oaked cider. The flavour has a moderate acidity, slightly tart, with fruity (esp. lemons) and spicy notes. Easy drinking and refreshing.

May 2013: 355 ml can at Lompa Friluft, Oslo. ABV is 5.0%. Hazy pale golden colour, moderate white head. Strong aroma and flavour of Belgian saison yeast, curacao orange peel and coriander. Fizzy mouthfeel. A good witbier, but no better than the Belgian originals, so it seems rather superfluous to import it to Europe.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Red colour, large of-white head. Aroma of hibscus, ripe raspberries and farmhouse, some lactic acid. Refreshing flavour of hibiscus and raspberries, not too sweet, nor too sour.

330 ml bottle, as Nøgne Ø Classic Premium Lager, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%, IBU 25. Moderately hazy orange to brown colour, large head, slightly off-white. Fairly nice aroma of malts with a hint of caramel, also floral and herbal hops. Soft mouthfeel. Fairly rich malty flavour, hints of caramel again, also a hint of orange peel, decent herbal hops in the finish. Might buy again.

330 ml bottle, as Drum Brew The Gathering Stout, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.5%. Black colour, moderate to small tan head. Aroma of roast malts, caramel, mild coffee, chocolate, liquorice and fennel. Medium sweet flavour, with the same elements. Moderate hops.

330 ml can, from the brewery. ABV is 8.1%. Murky brownish-orange colour, moderate to small off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit and pine, a hint of sweat. The flavour is not too sweet, rather dry actually, with a fairly light body for its ABV. Distinct bittering hops as expected, notes of resin, pine needles and grapefruit.

Sep. 2020: 330 ml can, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 3.9%. Gusher can, overcarbonated. Pale golden colour, huge white head. Nice aroma of citrus, farmhouse and spicy notes. Thin mouthfeel. Medium dry flavour, spicy and slightly citric, not sour, moderate bitterness.

April 2015: On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Hazy pale yellow colour, large white head. Distinct aroma of brettanomyces / farmhouse, wine yeast, lemons and green and black peppercorns. The flavour is medium dry, a slight acidity but not really sour, distinctly yeasty, with loads of green and black peppercorns. Not very bitter. Unusual and interesting, but maybe too yeasty?

Feb. 2019: 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8.1%. Brewed with redcurrants, cherries and prunes. Very cloudy pinkish colour, large off-white / pale pinkish head. Strong aroma of said fruits / berries, also lactic acid. Flavour of lactic acid and sour fruits / berries, esp. redcurrants. Moderate but noticeable hops. Fairly nice beer.

August 2012: Shared bottle at local tasting. ABV is 10.5%. Hazy golden to orange colour, moderate head. Strong hoppy aroma, unusual sharpish notes of over-ripe berries and catpiss, hints of sweat. Strong hoppy flavour, the brettanomyces is relatively subdued. Nice warming mouthfeel.

500 ml can, from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. ABV is 4.7%. Nearly clear deep golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, bread and dust, also moderate citric and herbal hops. Smooth mouthfeel and flavour, with the same elements as the aroma. Not much of an IPA, but nice enough to drink.

500 ml can, from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. ABV is 5.2%. Moderately hazy golden colour, large to moderate white head. Intense aroma of over-ripe bananas, hints of cloves, coriander seeds and orange peel. The flavour is somewhat less intense, but has the same elements as the aroma, with a bit more citrus. Low bitterness.

330 ml can, from Coop Extra, Sauda. ABV is 4.7%, IBU 22. Moderately hazy pale golden colour, moderate white head. Nice aroma of El Dorado hops, notes of citrus, pineapple and spruce. Fairly thin body. The flavour is not too sweet, and has the same elements as the aroma, also hints of pine needles. Low bitterness.

Light bodied. The flavour is not too sweet, but has a pleasant presence of said fruity hops throughout. Refreshing.
