2551 | Southern Tier Phin & Matts Extraordinary Ale | United States | American Pale Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 12 fl. oz bottle, thanks to BA richgo6. Clear deep golden colour, decent head. Lovely aroma of Cascade and Styrian Goldings. The flavour is also very hoppy, a tad too sweet, a hint of orange marmelade, with some "raw" alcoholic notes. Not bad though. |

2558 | De Graal Dubbel | Belgium | Abbey Dubbel | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml stubby bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. BB 0608. ABV is 6.5%. Refermented in the bottle. Copper coloured beer (clear first, cloudy when the yeast is poured in the end), large tan head with an orangey hue. Very nice aroma of spices, candi sugar, yeast and raisins. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is moderately spicy with some caramel and toffee, lacks hops. The finish is kind of "empty", relatively light bodied for its strength. Still a nice and drinkable dubbel, but could have been better. |

2559 | Dogfish Head Olde School Barleywine | United States | American Barleywine | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 12 fl. oz. bottle, thanks to my son Steinar. Orange to amber coloured beer, clear first, hazy when the sediment is poured in the end. Big off-white head with an orangey hue. Strong aroma of malts with vinous notes, oak, alcohol and molasses. The flavour is intensely sweet and alcoholic, notes of oak and figs, with a certain peppery and hoppy bite which nearly disappears behind the alcoholic sweetness. You don’t expect a 15% beer to be "easy drinking", and this one certainly isn’t. Too sweet for me, still quite impressive. Would probably improve by aging. |

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Bottle conditioned, ABV is 6.5%. Deep golden colour to orange colour, big and lasting off-white head with an orangey hue. Nice aroma of American hops. The flavour has notes of orange marmalade and resin with a substantial hoppy bitterness, but it is not overdone. Medium sweetness. Grapefruity bitter and long aftertaste - and yngwie is right: there is actually a hint of camphor too! |

2564 | Nethergate Umbel Ale | United Kingdom | Spiced Beer | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 3.8%. Clear deep golden to orange colour, decent white head. Interesting aroma of fresh coriander, spicy and herbal notes, some fruit too. The flavour has loads of fresh coriander, a slight fruitiness, hints of toffee, decent hops (and more coriander) in the finish and aftertaste. Not too sweet. An interesting beer with a moderate ABV, but probably not my choice for a whole "session". |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 500 ml brown bottle, thanks to oh6gdx and chris_o. ABV is 4.3%. Golden brownish colour, slightly hazy. Moderate white head. Floral aroma with distinct notes of heather and honey. The flavour is fairly sweet and malty but also earthy, notes of honey but not too much, and there is a distinct hoppy and resinous bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Quite interesting beer. |

2572 | HaandBryggeriet Sen Sommer Ale | Norway | American Wheat | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, batch #130, at Parkteatret’s "Beer Day", Oslo. ABV is 6.0%. There are rumours that this really is the very same beer as HaandBryggeriet Påskegodt, but I find that hard to believe - Sen Sommer Ale is sweeter than I remember Påskegodt to have ever been. A side-by-side tasting is needed to settle that question, methinks. Hazy amber to orange colour, moderate head. Lovely aroma of fruity hops. Sweet flavour (slightly too much sweetness) with plenty of fruity hops. Moderately bitter finish. |

2573 | Oppigårds Golden Ale | Sweden | Blonde Ale | 3.7

Moderate but nice aroma of hops. The flavour is dominated by pleasant hops throughout (Target, Hersbrücker, East Kent Goldings and Cascade), on a sufficient malty base. Good beer! |

2574 | St. Peters Grapefruit Beer | United Kingdom | Fruit Beer | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 500 ml bottle, as St. Peter's Fruit Beer Grapefruit, bought at Vaaland Spesialbutikken, Bryne. ABV is 4.7%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Strong and pleasant aroma of grapefruit, also moderate notes of malts and toffee. The flavour is zesty with plenty of grapefruit, also a distinct hoppy bitterness in the finish. I love notes of "grapefruit" in a beer when they are caused by American hops, but actually adding grapefruit flavouring to the beer might mean a bit too much of the good stuff. Still, this is a refreshing and very drinkable beer, which requires that you have a crush on grapefruit to be really enthusiastic about it. |
