2201 | Carlow O'Hara's Double IPA | Ireland | Imperial IPA | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 April 2014: 500 ml bottle, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 7.5%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish notes of caramelized orange marmalade, crystal malts and citrussy and piney American hops. Medium sweet flavour, with the same elements as in the aroma. A little less sweetness and even more hops would be nice, but this is still not a bad shot at an "American" IPA. |

Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 April 2014: 500 ml bottle, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 4.3%. Clear golden colour, moderate to low head. Weak floral hops in the aroma, a hint of honey. The flavour has some citussy hops, and is quite refreshing (yes, I was thirsty), but otherwise rather bland and boring. |

2203 | Carlow O'Hara's Winter Star, Spiced Amber Ale | Ireland | Spiced Beer | 2.5
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5 March 2014: 500 ml bottle, from the Norwegian potential importer. ABV is 4.3%. Chestnut coloured beer, moderate to low off-white head. Dryish, dusty and spiced aroma, hints of coconut and orange peel. Fizzy mouthfeel. Medium dry flavour, "artificial" notes of coconut, orange peel, dust and unpleasant spices, minimal hops. Very unbalanced. Sorry, this one did not rock my boat. |

Aroma and flavour much like Guinness, Murphy's and Beamish - the character is maybe a bit softer than Guinness. Should be palatable even for people who normally stick to paler beers. |

2224 | Bulmers (Magners) Vintage Irish Cider | Ireland | Cider | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 568 ml bottle, as Magners Original Irish Cider / Vintage Cider. Produced by Wm. Magner, Clonmel, Ireland. ABV is 4.5%. Contains sulphites. Pale and clear golden colour with a pinkish hue. Short-lived head. Fairly strong apple aroma, notes of candy too. Thin and watery mouthfeel. The medium sweet flavour has very moderate apples and makes me wonder how much really is fermented apple juice and how much is water in this product. Not offensive though. |
