1252 | Grauballe Enebær Stout | Denmark | Stout | 4.4
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9 330 ml bottle, bought at Mahlers Vinhandel, Frederikshavn, Denmark. Unfiltered. Nearly black colour, large and creamy tan head. Lovely aroma of juniper berries first and foremost, roast malts and dark chocolate in the background. Flavour of roast malts, coffee and dark chocolate, maybe some liquorice too, the juniper berries are around but are not dominant. Moderately sweet, some faint acidic notes in the finish. Fairly bitter aftertaste, both from the roastiness and the hops. An excellent stout in my book, with an unusual but successful addition of juniper berries. |

1253 | Ølfabrikken Porter | Denmark | Baltic Porter | 4.4
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9 Bottle RBESG 2006, Grand Tasting. Black colour, no head. Exquisite aroma: roastiness, fine coffee, chocolate, liquorice, oak and tobacco. The flavour has a definite malty sweetness, roastiness with coffee notes, and plenty of dark chocolate. Rerate 2008, 330 ml can, new brewery: Pitch black colour, huge brown head. The aroma is perhaps a tad less impressive than the first time, but still very, very good. The flavour elements are still the same. |

1261 | Troldhede Railroad Rye | Denmark | Rye Beer | 2.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 6 500 ml, bottle conditioned, incorrectly labeled as 700 ml. Very cloudy amber colour, large fizzy head that soon subsides, low remaining carbonation. Initially lovely yeasty and fruity aroma with notes of rye bread, oak and leather, but as carbonation dies out, some strange detergent notes remain in the aroma. Flavour has notes of rye bread and yeast, with some strange soapy notes in the finish / aftertaste. Dead yeast? Seems to me the brewers have been working on a really good brew here, without succeeding. |

1262 | Fur Porter | Denmark | Porter | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 500 ml bottle, bought in Hvide Sande, Denmark. ABV is 6.5%. Nearly black colour (= very dark brown to ruby), large tan head. Roasty aroma, notes of coffee and chocolate, hints of leather and liquorice. Roasty flavour with coffee and chocolate, smoother and sweeter than expected. Some bitterness from the roastiness, but the hops are not plentiful. Not very complex, but it’s a nice and very drinkable porter. Does not quite live up to the high price, though. |

1267 | Wintercoat Yellow Jacket | Denmark | IPA | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Draught at Christian Firtal, Odense. Malty aroma with notes of toffee, caramel, butterscotch, hints of dried fruits. Flavour is reasonably malty with distinct butterscotch notes, hints of peaches and apricots. Decent hops, bitter aftertaste. |

1269 | Fur Bock | Denmark | Bock | 3.3
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, unpasteurised, bought in Hvide Sande, Denmark. Beautiful clear reddish amber colour, moderate lingering head. Malty aroma with some caramel and honey. I like my bocks darker than this, still this one has a pretty full body, some malty caramel sweetness with a moderately bitter finish. Alcohol is unfortunately too dominant. Does not live up to its high price. |

1270 | Fur Ale | Denmark | English Pale Ale | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, bought in Hvide Sande, Denmark. Deep golden colour, decent head. Moderate aroma with some malts and fruity aromatic hops. Flavour has some decent hops and notes of toffee, bitter finish. This is an okay premium bitter in my book, but not really outstanding. Like all beers from Fur Bryghus, it is overpriced |

1271 | Troldhede Coal-wagon Brown Ale | Denmark | Brown Ale | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 700 ml bottle, b.b. date (handwritten on each bottle!) is 21.3.05. Poured carefully and got an initially clear brown ale with a large and lasting head, hazy in the next pour when the yeast was disturbed. Intense hoppy aroma on a background of malts and dried fruits. Flavour is malty sweet with strong chocolate notes, also notes of caramel and nuts, hints of spices. Fizzy mouthfeel. Not a bad beer this one. |

1273 | Harboe Dunkel | Denmark | Dunkel / Dark Lager | 2.2
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330 ml can, called "Premium Dunkel", but must be the same beer. ABV is the same. Adding "premium" to the name of most of their beers will not hide the fact that Harboe is one of the least interesting discount breweries in Northern Europe. Brown colour, very thin for a dunkel. Decent head. Moderate malty aroma. Flavour has a very moderate maltiness, very thin and slightly metallic mouthfeel. Another poor brew from Harboe. |

1275 | Ølfabrikken Rug IPA | Denmark | IPA | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Cask at Ølbaren, Copenhagen, RBESG. Murky brown colour. Distinctly malty aroma with citrussy hops, notes of balsamico vinegar. Flavour is definitely citrus with some rye bread, decent hoppy bitterness in the finish. Distinctly hoppy aftertaste. Also sampled bottle at RBESG 2005 Grand Tasting. Lovely aroma of hops, hints of rye bread and spices. (9/10) The flavour is dominated by a substantial hoppy bitterness from start to finish, but there’s also a tolerable malty base to balance it. (8/10) (Overall 15/20) |
