759 | Midtfyns Rough Snuff Fisherman’s Ale | Denmark | Belgian Strong Ale | 2.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.5%. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Big tan head. Weird and unpleasant sweetish aroma, strong notes of cough syrup, anise and tobacco. The flavour is somewhat better than the aroma, notes of dark malts, brown candi sugar, raisins and liquorice, the snuff tobacco is fairly moderate. Very moderate hops in the finish. Not a winner by me. |

Light and sweetish pleasant aroma, fruity, spicy and floral, with notes of orange peel, coriander and cardamom, hints of honey. Moderately sweetish flavour with distinct spicy notes, hints of orange peel and honey, and a distinct and dry hoppy bitterness in the finish. |

761 | Beer Here Hopfix | Denmark | IPA | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV of this Rye IPA is 6.5%. Cloudy orange to amber colour, big to moderate off-white head. Lovely aroma of fruity, piney and resinous American(?) hops. The flavour is very hoppy throughout, as expected - but never too extreme. Piney and resinous notes galore. Some malty sweetness, but not too much. Dry and bitter finish. |

762 | Viborg Imperial Stout | Denmark | Imperial Stout | 4.4
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 500 ml bottle, batch 22, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 8.0%. Pitch black colour, big to moderate tan head. Moderate but nice aroma of roasted malts, notes of coffee, hints of liquorice and smoke. Full and rich mouthfeel. The flavour is fairly sweet and malty, roasty notes of course, some caramel, tar, coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice and smoke again - but not quite as much peat smoke as expected, and that’s quite alright with me. A lovely drop! |

763 | Herslev Økologisk India Pale Ale | Denmark | IPA | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 500 ml bottle, as Herslev Økologisk India Pale Ale, brew #396, from Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. ABV is 6%. Deep golden colour, slightly hazy. Big and lasting white head. Very nice aroma of fruity hops (tropical fruits), also some piney notes. Plenty of carbonation in the mouth. Distinct hoppy flavour throughout, notes of pine, grapefruity bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Good beer! |

764 | Beer Here Black Cat | Denmark | American Black Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger, ABV is 4.7%. Very dark brown colour, big beige head. Nice aroma of fruity and grape-like Nelson Sauvin hops, some roasty notes too, hints of dark chocolate. Refreshing flavour, mostly due to the hops, but there are also distinct and dry roasty notes, hints of ashes in the finish. A decent enough beer, but I am still not convinced that the recently invented combination of fruity hops and dark roasty beer is the best idea ever. |

765 | Amager Imperial Stout | Denmark | Imperial Stout | 4.0
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. Batch #150. ABV is 10.01%. Pitch black colour, impressive brown head. Lovely aroma of hops, heavily roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate, hints of vanilla. The flavour has an intense bitterness from start to finish, both from the hops and the roasted malts - too much hoppy bitterness for mye taste, as it overshades the finer tones of 8 different malts. Also burnt notes, and notes of too strong coffee. Not enough sweetness to balance the bitterness. Ashy aftertaste. |

766 | Mikkeller Czechet Pilsner | Denmark | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Beer, Stavanger. ABV is 4.6%. Golden colour, hazy in the end, big white head. Fairly nice aroma of floral and herbal Czech and German hops. The flavour is definitely on the hoppy side side, but there is also enough malty sweetness to back it up. Herbal character, some honeyish notes too. Good bitterness in the finish, but not too much. Clearly a pils well above average. |

767 | Holbæk Bryg Munken | Denmark | Dry Stout | 3.3
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%. Black colour, big tan head. Both the aroma and flavour have notes of dry malts, woodwork and coffee, hints of dark chocolate, ashes and dust. A mix of schwarzbier and stout, hm? Drinkable, but not particularly successful. |

768 | Holbæk Bryg Isefjord Winter | Denmark | Stout | 4.0
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7%. Brewed with fresh sage and ginger. Black colour, dark brown in the highlights. Big tan head. Nice roasty aroma, notes of coffee, hints of dark chocolate and herbs. Good creamy mouthfeel. The flavour is distinctly roasty and spicy, but the ginger is not burning. Notes of coffee and dark chocolate again, good bitterness in the finish. Some ashes and wood in the aftertaste. This must be one of Holbæk Bryg’s better beers. |

769 | Mikkeller Funky Easter | Denmark | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.2
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 750 ml "champagne" bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.39%. Amber to brown hazy colour, big to moderate white (or slightly off-white) head. Fairly nice moderate aroma, some funky and fruity notes, also notes of dust and damp basement. The flavour is moderately funky and fairly alcoholic, medium bitter hops in the finish. Not bad, but from Mikkeller you expect something better than this. |

770 | Grauballe Dark Christmas | Denmark | Spiced Beer | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, as Grauballe Dark Christmas, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 7.3%. The glass on the label promises a black beer, but the beer inside is actually copper to brown coloured, with a huge off-white to beige head. Some sediment in the bottle, making the beer murky brown in the end. Strange aroma of rotting fruits and berries, star anise and caramel. The flavour is somewhat better than the aroma, fairly sweet and malty with caramel and hints of chocolate, also some fruity and even vinous notes - and too much star anise. |

771 | Grauballe Honeygold | Denmark | Belgian Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 (33 cl bottle). Orange colour, slightly hazy, moderate head. Moderate aroma of malts, nuts, honey and flowery hops. Honey is surprisingly subdued in aroma and flavour - this is definitely a beer, not a mead. However, honey adds a moderate sweetness to the flavour of a beer otherwise dominated by plentiful hops. Lagerish mouthfeel, a bit too carbonated for my taste. Bitter-sweet finish, bitter aftertaste. Not 100% well balanced in my book, but still a decent beer. |

772 | Beer Here Lupulus | Denmark | American Pale Ale | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 4.7%. Deep golden to amber colour, slightly hazy, moderate white head. Lovely aroma of predominantly fruity American and New Zealand hops, citrussy and piney notes. Rather thin mouthfeel. The flavour is distinctly hoppy throughout, there is a moderate sweetness, but hardly enough malty backbone to support the hops. The bitterness is not extreme, though. |

773 | Mikkeller It’s Alive! Hvidvinsfadlagret | Denmark | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 375 ml green bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.0%. Cloudy amber to orange colour, huge off-white head. Lovely aroma of farmhouse / brettanomyces, also a fruity and spicy character with hints of Gewürztraminer. The flavour has a pretty strong brettanomyces character, spicy and oaky notes, and a distinct hoppy bitterness in the finish. The alcohol is noticeable, but not dominant. Good stuff. |

Very malty and sweetish aroma, roasty, strong notes of whisky, vanilla and oak. Intense roasty and very sweet flavour, notes of strong coffee, whisky and vanilla. Alcohol burn throughout. Too much of the good stuff. |

775 | Mikkeller Black Cognac Edition (Black Foil) | Denmark | Imperial Stout | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 375 ml green bottle (black foil top), courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 17.5%. Pitch black colour, low brown head. Intense aroma of fusel alcohols, roasted barley, sweetish malts, molasses and oak. Extremely sweet and roasty flavour, notes of oak / cognac barrels. Far out on the weird side, but GOOD - in a perverted way. |
