Lighter bodied and less sweet flavour than the aroma makes you expect, but still with plenty of chocolate in the flavour.

500 ml bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV in Norway is 4.7%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Aroma of roasted barley, notes of coffee. Smooth flavour, moderately roasted malts with coffee notes, a slight acidity, medium dry, reasonably bitter finish. Nice enough.

500 ml bottle, as Primátor Svetlý, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4%. Pale golden colour, big white head. Typical Czech pilsener aroma of sweetish malts and grassy and floral Saaz hops, hints of honey. Light bodied of course, but very refreshing, with a better presence in the flavour of both malts and Saaz hops than you’d expect from 4% pilsener.

500 ml bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.0%. Golden colour, big to moderate white head. Moderate carbonation in the glass. Nice aroma of butterscotch and fudge. Soft mouthfeel. Refreshing flavour, moderate malts with a touch of butterscotch, not very sweet. Lightly hopped, more of a helles than a pilsener.

1 liter brown PET bottle, kindly shared by gunnar. ABV is 4.8%. Upon opening the beer gushes out of the bottle, and continues to do so. Apparently infected. Cloudy golden colour, huge white head. Strong lemon aroma. Very lemony flavour, acidity galore, some spicy notes. Might be said to be "good" in a perverted way, but is too sour, and being obviously infected does not help much.

500 ml bottle, as Březňák Schwarzbier, bought at Rewe Getränkemarkt, Erding. ABV is 3.8%. Ingredients include sweetener. Mahogany coloured beer, big off-white to beige head. Strong sweetish malty aroma, notes of bakery / brown bread, caramel and syrup. The flavour is malty and slightly roasty, but not as sweet as the aroma made me fear. Decent hops in the finish balance the flavour nicely.

The bottle had been open a while, but I’ll rate the beer as if it had a normal carbonation (which reports confirm it had when opened). Amber colour. Unusual spicy aroma, notes of coriander and banana. Spicy flavour, some banana. A fairly decent beer. Will rerate if I can find a fresh bottle.

The flavour has also notes of caramel, fresh black bread, and burnt brown bread toast. Not very sweet. Maybe not so exceptional, but a drinkable and decent dunkel. Should not be drunk too cold.

Aroma of brown bread, caramel and dust. The flavour is moderately malty but not very sweet, bready and dusty notes. Okay, but not impressive.

500 ml brown bottle, a gift from gunnar, thanks. ABV is 5%. BB date 30.12.10. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Strange aroma of cooked vegetables, decaying fruit, malts and dust. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour has much the same elements as the aroma, dry and dusty, pretty weird - but some fresh hops in the finish make the drinking experience more tolerable.

The flavour has a nice maltiness with mild roasted notes, but is not very sweet. Moderate but noticeable hops, dry finish. Refreshing and pleasant to drink.

The medium sweet flavour is moderately malty with some honeyish notes, a hint of caramel again. The alcohol is noticeable, but not as disturbing as in some Scandinavian lagers of this strength. Medium bitter hops in the finish.

The aroma has honeyish and floral notes of Saaz hops, also pilsener malts. The flavour has a fairly decent balance between the malts and hops, some sweetness but not too much, reasonably bitter finish. A decent pils, no more, no less.
