Bottle, shared by my beerpal Olav (bought at the brewery). ABV is 7.0%. Deep golden to orange colour, large white head. Nice aroma of American hops, strong notes of spruce. Very hoppy and bitter flavour. Some sweetness, but the bitterness is still overwhelming. Not Port Brewing’s best.

12.7 ounces corked and caged bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.0%. Hazy reddish-brown colour, moderate off-white head. INTENSE aroma of ripe and over-ripe raspberries, some spicy notes too. Strong sour / acidic flavour with loads of raspberries, also notes of lemons. If this is what you like, that’s what you get.

750 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. "French Style Stock Ale - Ale Aged in Oak Barrels". ABV is 7%. Hazy amber to brownish colour, large off-white head. Strong aroma of farmhouse. horse blanket, lemons, oak and apple cider vinegar. Medium sour flavour with lemony and oaky notes, fairly distinct and peppery hops in the finish. "Beware the ides of March!"

375 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.9%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of various citrus fruits, brettanomyces, oak and vanilla. Sour flavour with notes of lemons and brettanomyces, hints of oak, can't detect the vanilla, low bitterness.

355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.5%. Black colour. moderate beige head. Dryish aroma of roasted malts, coffee, cocoa, vanilla and unsweetened chocolate. The flavour is medium dry, with the same elements as the aroma. For those who fear a cloyingly sweet chocolate beer, this must be a nice surprise.

375 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.8%. Clear (hazy when the yeast is poured in) golden colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of lime (and other citrus fruits) and mango, only a hint of coconut and oak. Moderately sour and fruity flavour with distinct notes of lime and other citrus fruits, hints of mango, coconut and oak. Nice and refreshing beer.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pink to peach coloured beer, small off-white head. Aroma and flavour of blackberries, moderate lactic acid, sea salt and coriander. Well balanced, nice beer.

375 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.8%. Peach coloured beer, minimal head. Intense aroma of farmhouse, oak and red fruits (raspberries, blackberries, cherries and merlot grapes). Very intense flavour of said fruits / berries, very sour with notes of red wine vinegar, tannins and oak.

Shared bottle at local tasting. Very dark brown colour. Nice aroma of malts, brown kandij sugar, caramel, molasses and dark dried fruits. Moderately sweet and fruity flavour, the same elements as in the aroma, but unexpectedly sour and vinegary.

375 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.5%. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of peaches and sour fruits, some lactic acid, oak and mild spices. Very sour (too sour) flavour, notes of lemons and other sour fruits, loads of lactic acid, hints of oak and mild spices, minimal hops.

355 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 13%. Pitch black colour, small brown head dissipates instantly. Aroma of caramel, malts, roasted nuts, a hint of cocoa. Oily and cloying mouthfeel, minimal carbonation. Very sweet and unbalanced flavour, loads of caramel, also toasted coconuts, roasted pistachios and cocoa. Very moderate hops.

Bottle, from Costco, Sacramento. Golden color, white head. Aroma and flavour of American hops, saison yeast and grape must - an unusual combination, more interesting than really great. Not a bad beer though.

500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. ABV is 7.8%, OG 1074, 45 IBU. Orange to amber colour, large to moderate white head. Very nice aroma of fresh American hops, notes of tropical fruits, citrus and pine. Hoppy flavour throughout, fruit and pine / resin again, but never too bitter. Some malty sweetness. A well crafted beer, should be palatable for any beer enthusiast.

650 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.2%. Black colour, large to moderate brown head. Nice aroma of mildly roasted malts and caramel malts, notes of coffee, caramel, chocolate and vanilla. Silky smooth mouthfeel and flavour, like the name makes you anticipate, The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, with just the right sweetness, and sufficient hops in the finish. Very enjoyable and easy drinking.

Shared 650 ml bottle at local tasting. Black colour, low brown head. Roasty and boozy aroma, notes of molasses, hints of oak. Rich flavour, balanced roasty notes, some molasses sweetness but not too much. Good stuff.

Medium sweet flavour, you sense that there is a decent imperial stout in the background, with some chocolate, unfortunately ruined by cherry essence and almond essence.

355 ml bottle, as Captain Lawrence Effortless IPA Session Ale, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%, IBU 45. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Pleasant aroma of citrussy hops, also hints of pine. Smooth mouthfeel. Lovely and refreshing medium dry flavour, well balanced with citrussy and piney hops. A winner, especially for the summer months.

Moderately sour and fairly dry flavour, lighter body than expected, notes of brettanomyces, oak and lemons, moderate hops.

Muddy pink colour, no head, minimal carbonation. Aroma of farmhouse, oak and sour cherries. Sour and tart flavour, notes of sour cherries, oak and lemons, astringent finish.

Refreshing and crisp flavour, medium dry, with distinct citric and herbal hops, resinous in the medium bitter finish.
