500 ml bottle conditioned, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.2%. Golden colour, slightly hazy, large white head. Pleasant aroma of fruity hops on a sweetish malty background. Medium sweet flavour, distinctly malty, but also with strong hoppy notes and a resinous and bitter finish. The alcohol is evident, and I’d easily believe that the beer was even stronger than it actually is. American Columbus hops are hardly part of a trustworthy "re-creation of the White Stout style", but never mind the name - this is a decent and quite enjoyable strong ale, more American than English in its character.

Keg halfpint at Craftsman Company / Excite the Enthusiast Coffee & Ale House, Aberdeen. ABV was said to be 9%, but this is almost certainly a version brewed in Scotland. Black colour, small tan head. Aroma of vanilla and chocolate. The flavour is pleasantly sweet, with distinct notes of chocolate and vanilla. No sign of espresso coffee, so I wonder if this might be the allegedly retired ordinary Imperial Café Racer version at 8% ABV? Anyway, this is a lovely beer.

The flavour is fruity and slightly sweet, notes of tropical fruits again, a hint of pine needles, but the bitterness is low. Not bad, but running in a heat with many contenders.

Aroma of malts, molasses, fusel, dark dried fruits and stale jam. Minimal carbonation in the mouth. Sweet and alcoholic flavour of molasses, dark dried fruits and oak, fairly bitter finish. Warming mouthfeel. Like most other BrewDog Abstrakt beers: Not worth the money. Won’t pay for any more of them myself.

Shared 375 ml bottle at local tasting, thanks to abemorsten. Reddish brown colour, moderate to low off-white head. Strong and intense aroma of ripe and over-ripe raspberries, strawberries and oak. Mouthppuckering and astringent dry flavour of oak, over-ripe raspberries and stale strawberry jam, hints of whisky and hops. Uh, well - INTERESTING, to say the least.
