4501 | Santa Margarida de Trigo | Spain | American Wheat | 3.2
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml bottle, as Santa Margarida Cerveza Artesanal de Trigo, from Carrefour, Cartagena. ABV is 4.2%. Golden colour, hazy in the end, huge white head. Wheaty aroma, notes of cloves, hints of citrus, banana and dust. The flavour is citrussy and somewhat acidic, minimal hops. Refreshing, but not very interesting. |

4502 | Estrella Damm 0.0% | Spain | Reduced Alcohol | 1.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml can, from my local Rimi store. Pale golden colour, large to moderate white head. The usual n/a beer aroma of over-boiled vegetables, also notes of mown grass left to rot. Thin mouthfeel. The flavour has some weak notes of pilsener malts, and just the slightest hint of citrus, making the beer (nearly) drinkable when ice cold. Wet cardboard and dust in the aftertaste. |

4503 | Rosita | Spain | Blonde Ale | 2.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, as Rosita Original, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. ABV is 5.5%. Imported to Norway by Moestue Grape Selections AS. According to the Norwegian rear label, this is a spontaneously fermented ale (not sure if that is entirely true), with a secondary fermentation in the bottle. Hazy golden colour, large to low white head, decent lacing. Strong sweetish and "unfresh" aroma, distinct notes of stale marmalade and decaying / rotting fruits. The flavour is somewhat better than the aroma, wheaty and fairly refreshing character with hints of citrus. Won’t buy again though. |

4504 | M. Busto Sidra Natural Asturiana | Spain | Cider | 3.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 700 ml corked (but not caged / wired) green bottle, bought in Spain. ABV is 6%. A little sediment in the botttle, some floaties. Pale golden colour, minimal carbonation (this is nearly a still cider), no head. Strong and pleasant aroma of fresh fruit and oxidised cider apples, a hint of oak and sulphites. The flavour is medium dry, oxidised cider apples again, notes of oak and sulphites. Very drinkable. |

4505 | Hijos de Rivera Estrella Galicia | Spain | Pale Lager | 2.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330 ml bottle, as Estrella Galicia Premium Lager, from REMA 1000. ABV in Norway is 4.7%. It has the black & red label of the ordinary Estrella Galicia, not the green label of Estrella Galicia Pilsen (which is 4.7% ABV even in Spain). To make further confusion, the label says in Spanish that it contains gluten (which is logical, as the beer contains barley malt), while there is also a sticker in Norwegian, saying that the beer is gluten free. I suspect the Norwegian importer may have misunderstood something here ... At any rate, the gluten content is probably fairly low, as maize (corn) is also an ingredient. Pale golden colour, large to moderate white head, nice lacing. Heineken-like "skunky" and grassy aroma (which I can’t say I find offensive), hints of citrus. Initially a fairly clean and crisp flavour ( I drank it very cold), with a distinct and rather sharp and unpleasant bitterness in the finish, metallic in the aftertaste. Little hop flavour besides the bitterness. Not a great beer, but I’d probably prefer it if the only alternatives were the blandest of Spanish supermarket pale lagers. |

4506 | Alhambra Especial | Spain | Pale Lager | 2.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 On tap in Tenerife, served ice cold. ABV unknown (there are at least two different ABV-versions of Alhambra Especial). Pale golden colour, creamy white head. Very moderate aroma, a little malts, citrus and a hint of vomit. "Neutral" pale lager flavour, nothing offensive but not much to make you happy either, some weak hops in the finish. |
