4001 | Nøgne Ø Super Stuck Mash Pumpkin Ale | Norway | Spiced Beer | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger (only 1 keg available there, I’m afraid). Cloudy orange-brown colour, large and creamy beige head. Sweetish fruity and vegetal aroma (the pumpkins, I assume), also notes of piney American hops. Effervescent mouthfeel. The flavour is fruity with notes of pumpkins, but is not too sweet. Spicy notes too, decent American hops throughout. Very drinkable. |

4002 | Balholm Malus Domestica Dessertvin av Eple Økologisk | Norway | Cider | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml clear bottle, from Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. ABV is 19%. The label does not say anything about this being a fortified cider / apple wine (with distilled alcohol added), nor anything about the "ice cider" method being used, but it is rather amazing if it has fermented to 19%. Yes, I added it to the BeerPal database, but I am prepared that it might have to go. Golden colour, no carbonation. The aroma is first boozy / alcoholic, after a minute in the glass the aroma is surprisingly moderate - dusty, with notes of apples of course, but not nearly as intense as I expected. The flavour, on the other hand, is definitely intense and concentrated, loads of sweet apples, oak and alcohol, hints of young sherry. Okay to accompany apple pie and ice cream for dessert, I guess - but I doubt that I will buy this apple wine again. |

4003 | HaandBryggeriet Sundland Kreosot | Norway | American Black Ale | 3.9
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.7%. Pitch black colour, large and lasting brown head. Interesting aroma: smoke, tar, roasted malts and fruity hops. The flavour is roasty and smoked, with fruity hops in the background. Not too bitter. I would probably like it even better with less smoked malts and a little more hops, but then it would be a different beer ... As it is, it is certainly worth sampling. |

4004 | Nøgne Ø Imperial Stout Cognac Barrel | Norway | Imperial Stout | 4.6
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 250 ml bottle, kindly shared by Odland. Sampled at room temperature. Pitch black colour, creamy brown head. Strong aroma of cognac oak barrel, some roasty notes too. Well rounded flavour, roasty of course, dark chocolate and coffee, the cognac and oak are there, but not overwhelming. Excellent beer. |

4005 | Lindesnes Gahre Pilsner | Norway | Kellerbier | 2.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 4 500 ml bottle, thanks to gunnar. ABV is 4.7%. Some sediment in the bottle. Hazy golden colour, large white head. Sweetish aroma and flavour of not-very-successful homebrewed pilsener, grassy, yeasty and woody notes. Decent hops in the finish. Overall not good enough, for a new microbrewery aiming to build a reputation. |

4006 | Lindesnes Imsa Pale Ale | Norway | English Pale Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml bottle, thanks to the ever generous beer enthusiast gunnar. ABV is 4.7%. Cloudy brown colour, large off-white head. Smell of not-quite-fully-fermented homebrew, some fruity notes (green apples) and dusty malts, some woody notes too. The flavour is woody and medium dry, some fruity notes makes the beer drinkable. Bitter finish. Woody aftertaste. Could have been worse, but Lindesnes Brygghus has apparently a long way to go. |

4007 | Lindesnes Båly Porter | Norway | Porter | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, many thanks to gunnar. ABV 4.7%. Black colour, large to moderate brown head - looks good, but retention could have been better. Strong roasty and woody dryish aroma, notes of coffee. The flavour is dry and roasty, coffee and woody notes again, fairly biiter finish. Woody aftertaste. Not the greatest porter in the world, but much better than the other beers I had from Lindesnes. |

4008 | Ægir RyePA | Norway | Rye Beer | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Chestnut colour, creamy off-white to beige head. Unusual fruity perfumed aroma, notes of over-ripe raspberries. Smooth and pleasant mouthfeel. The flavour is moderately fruity (hints of raspberries again) with a nice balance between the malts (with notes of rye bread and a hint of caramel) and American hops (with moderate piney and grapefruity notes). |

4009 | Ægir Belgian Golden Ale | Norway | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Deep golden to amber colour, hazy. Moderate white head. Beguiling aroma of Belgian ale yeast, malts and kandij sugar, with distinct spicy and fruity notes. The fairly complex flavour is sweet and fruity, but not cloying, and the sweetness is balanced by a distinct spicy character and tolerable hops. Not a quick thirstquencher, but a truly enjoyable beer! |

4010 | Ægir Kollaborator | Norway | Doppelbock | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV was said to be 7%, possibly incorrect. If the two versions were labelled correctly: The Ægir version has a ruby colour (significantly paler than the Nøgne Ø version), The aroma is more moderate, but the notes of smoke are distinct. Drier flavour, more carbonation, medium sweet. More distinct notes of liquorice and smoke. Salty notes. |

4012 | Trollbryggeriet Slogen Fjord | Norway | Kölsch | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. The glass fills completely by white foam, and a golden beer (slightly hazy) appears slowly. Strong and sharpish aroma of German and Czech hops, grassy, floral and fruity notes, also hints of honey. Light to medium body, lagerish mouthfeel (this is an ale, though). The flavour is medium dry with some "dusty" malts and grassy hops, some fruity hints. The bitterness is too low, but this is still a drinkable beer. |

4013 | Inderøy Mærrabætt | Norway | IPA | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.9%. Deep golden to brown colour, slightly hazy. Large head, slightly off-white. Moderate aroma of American hops. The flavour is distinctly hoppy from start to finish, with a fairly sharp bitterness. Maybe not very complex, but a decent enough "American" IPA. |

4014 | Nøgne Ø Kjell Pop Double Hop IPA | Norway | IPA | 3.9

Hazy orange to amber colour, large off-white head. Nice aroma of citrussy and piney American hops. The flavour is distinctly hoppy with piney and grapefruity notes, but not extreme. Moderate malts in the background, not too sweet. Very good. |

4015 | Inderøy Gildets Mjød | Norway | Mead | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml shared bottle, at "Onsdag i Annen", Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. So far not available in the pub’s ordinary selection. ABV is 10%. Fairly pale and slightly milky colour, moderate carbonation. Aroma and flavour have notes of honey, like any mead should, but this is still the driest mead I’ve had. Distinct herbal and spicy notes in both aroma and flavour. Mouthfeel reminiscent of rough cider. Alcohol is evident. The relatively dry character makes this mead more drinkable than the intensely sweet and uncarbonated ones, but I’d still prefer to share the bottle with one other person. |

4016 | Ølve på Egge Helgenkongen | Norway | Porter | 3.5
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.1%. Black colour, moderate brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, woodwork and dark chocolate. The flavour is medium dry with notes of black malts and coffee, hints of wood. Moderate hops. The mouthfeel is not very rich. I’d like some more sweetness, some fruitiness, and some more hops - but I suppose you can’t have everything. Not a bad beer, though. |

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 Shared bottles at HaandBryggeriet. ABV 7%. Reddish brown colour, low head. Strong sourish aroma of crowberries and lemony gueuze, notes of farmhouse. Sour flavour, notes of crowberries and oak. Interesting, but will probably improve with a year or two in a cool cellar. |

4022 | Inderøy Stut | Norway | Foreign / Extra Stout | 4.0
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 500 ml bottle, at Olympen, Oslo. ABV 6.4%. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Surprisingly moderate aroma, some roasty notes, hints of coffee and liquorice. The flavour is definitely roasty with notes of coffee, fairly dry. Smooth and pleasant to drink, will buy again. Inderøy’s best beer so far. |

4023 | Kinn Manna | Norway | Mild Ale | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 Cask at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Dark ruby colour, low off-white head. Roasty aroma, notes of cold coffee, hints of ashes. Dry flavour, notes of cold coffee and ashes again, the mouthfeel is rather thin. As the Biblical manna that God "miraculously" provided for the Israelites in the desert (actually a natural plant secretion, according to more recent research) was reported to be "sweet like honey", I expected Kinn Manna to be a somewhat sweeter and richer beer than this. Drinkable of course, but not Kinn’s most exciting offering. |

4024 | Max Ivan Eidskog Øl’n | Norway | Kellerbier | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml bottle, from Vika Mat, Oslo. ABV is 4.7%. Organic. Some sediment in the bottle. Cloudy golden colour, moderate white head. "Skunky", grassy and citrussy aroma. Moderate carbonation, soft mouthfeel. The flavour is citrussy, grassy and quite refreshing, with some rougher woody notes of traditional homebrew. Not quite like any other beer from Atna Øl, so I take it that this is an original recipe. |

4025 | Atna Øl Brun | Norway | Belgian Ale | 3.2
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml bottle, from distributor Strag. ABV is 6.3%. Introduced at Ølfestivalen Nærbø. Quite a bit of sediment in the bottle, some chunks / floaties in the glass. Cloudy brown colour, moderate off-white head. Sourish aroma of Belgian ale yeast, wood and a possible infection? Moderate carbonation in the glass, soft mouthfeel. The flavour is much better than the aroma - malty and bready with hints of brown kandij sugar and some wood, but is not very sweet. Does not taste infected. Decent hops in the finish. |
