375 ml waxed bottle, batch #1390, 2020 vintage (Rackhouse series), Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 13.5%. Pitch black colour, large to moderate tan head. Lovely aroma of roast malts, bourbon whiskey, oak (or maple) and vanilla. Rich and warming mouthfeel. The sweet flavour has the same elements as the aroma, also notes of caramel, liquorice and chocolate, moderate bittering hops. An excellent beer!

330 ml can, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 3.0%, IBU 16. Deep reddish brown colour, moderate beige head. Pleasant malty aroma, mild roasty notes, hints of chocolate and earthy hops. Refreshing flavour, with the same elements as the aroma, also notes of mild coffee and prunes.

500 ml can, from Rema 1000, Tau. ABV is 4.5% (which is a considerable difference from the original and international French-brewed version at 5.5%). Brewed in Denmark, and distributed by Ringnes AS. Clear golden colour, moderate white head. Strong sweetish malty and grassy aroma. The mouthfeel is slightly citric. Medium sweet pilsener flavour, with fairly decent grassy and herbal hops in the finish.

500 ml can, from SPAR Jørpeland. Brewed with mango juice concentrate. ABV is 4.7%. Very pale yellow colour, only slightly hazy, large white head. Fairly fresh aroma of mango and "peach" candy. Citric mouthfeel, The flavour has notes of citrus, mango and peaches, with a fairly distinct bitterness in the finish. Better than I feared, but won't be my daily indulgence.

Aroma of roast malts, mild coffee and chocolate, also lactose and hints of vanilla, water from a flower bouquet and prunes. Soft mouthfeel. Smooth and somewhat fruity (plums / prunes) flavour, with the same elements as the aroma (minus the flower water), very moderate hops. Nice to drink.

Aroma of tropical fruits (mango, lychee, pineapple), also hints of crushed white grapes and green gooseberries, some citrus too. There might be a certain fruitiness from the kveik too, but it drowns in all the fruity hops. Flavour of citrus and said tropical fruits, also notes of pine needles and sprucetips. Pleasant to drink.

The flavour is a bit on the sweet side, with notes of tropical fruits nectar, also notes of pine needles and sprucetips, but the bitterness is moderate.

Nice aroma of tropical fruits (papaya, guava, mango), some citrus too, a hint of caramel. The flavour is very sweet (too sweet) with loads of lactose and caramel, nearly drowning the notes of citrus and tropical fruits, a hint of sprucetips.

330 ml stubby bottle, #167, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 10%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Aroma of roast malts, chocolate, mild spices, mild coffee, blackberries, blackcurrants, liquorice. Medium sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, the roasty notes are more pronounced now, and there is a distinct hop bitterness in the finish. Also a hint of smoke.

750 ml bottle, batch #1971, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Opaque and "dirty" peach colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate aroma of rhubarb, solvent and dust, a hint of strawberries. The flavour is better than the aroma, a distinct fruity acidity of rhubarb, only a hint of strawberries. The solvent notes from the aroma unfortunately ruins the drinking experience. Won't buy again.

The flavour is distinctly piney / resinous and "dusty", with less distinct notes of said fruits. Appears unfresh and unpleasant. Not a beer I'll buy again. A pity Berentsens could not make a better show of it.

Aroma of brettanomyces, red wine and oak, also he expected notes of raspberries, cowberries and sour plums. Sour flavour with the same elements as the aroma.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Herbarium. Rye DIPA, ABV is 8.1%. Murky orange to brown colour, LOADS of yeast and protein floaties in the glass, looks awful. Small head, slightly off-white. Aroma of American West Coast hops, notes of orange marmalade and pine, hints of rye bread. The medium sweet flavour is malty with hints of rye bread again, also notes of piney and grapefruity hops, but the bitterness is moderate.

Rich and warming mouthfeel. Very sweet flavour, with the same elements as the aroma, low bitterness. Probably good for cellaring for many more years.

330 ml ordinary capped bottle in an oversized metal cylinder with a wooden lid - apparently you pay for more than the beer here. Batch #2466, bottle #11090 out of 15500. ABV is 16%, IBU 100. Purchased at Vinmonopolet Herbarium. Pitch black colour, moderate to small tan head. Strong aroma of coffee, molasses, brown sugars and dark malts. Rich and warming mouthfeel. Very sweet flavour, to some degree balanced by distinct bittering hops, and otherwise the same elements as the aroma. Also hints of chocolate and liquorice.

Sweetish aroma of malts, maize and floral hops. The flavour is drier and crisper than the aroma made me expect, and fairly refreshing. Moderate malts, rice and maize, with moderate herbal and "spicy" hops.

Strong aroma of brown malts, caramel, brown bread and burnt breadcrumbs. Well balanced flavour, notes of brown malts, nuts, caramel and moderate hops, also fruity hints of kveik and prunes.

330 ml can, Cardinal Pub, Stavanger. ABV is 5.5%. Opaque red to purple colour, large and lasting pink head. Distinct aroma of raspberries - some unripe, some ripe and some over-ripe. Fruit smoothie mouthfeel. Sour flavour, loads of lactic acid, sour raspberries and redcurrants. Refreshing.
