330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 12%. Pitch black colour, small tan head. Sweetish aroma of molasses, treacle, oak and alcohol. The flavour is sweet, malty and roasty, with notes of chocolate, sweetened coffee and treacle, but also interesting fruity notes of prunes, also oak and notes of spicy hops. Not bad this one.

330 ml can, from Helgø Meny Stokka. ABV is 4.7%. Murky yellow colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of orange soda and orange zest, a hint of vomit. Sour flavour, distinct notes of orange zest and lactic acid. Kind of refreshing, but hardly a beer I'll bother to buy again.

April 2022: 500 ml bottle, batch #706, from Helgø Meny Bogafjell. ABV is 4.7%, IBU 19. Opaque dirty yellow colour when the yeast is poured in, small and shortlived white head. Moderate aroma of wort, hints of citrus and coriander seeds. Soft mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Refreshing flavour of citrus (orange peel, lemon peel and grapefruit), hints of coriander seeds, low bitterness. Sufficient malty backbone.

440 ml can, as Salikatt Burn the Past West Coast IPA, from Vinmonopolet Madla. ABV is 7.0%. Slightly hazy orange colour, moderate white head. Aroma of orange marmalade, grapefruit, pine and spruce. Citric flavour (bitter oranges, lemon and grapefruit), not too sweet despite the crystal malts. A good and resinous hop bitterness throughout, becomes quite sharp in the aftertaste.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Madla. ABV is 8.0%. Opaque red to purple colour, moderate red head. Fruit smoothie texture. Aroma of dark and red berries. Sour flavour with loads of dark and red berries with pulp, not too sweet. An excellent breakfast drink.

750 ml bottle, from Helgø Meny Stokka. ABV is 4.5%. Slightly hazy and very pale straw colour, huge white head. Very strong and distinct aroma of herbal hops and newmown grass, hints of yeast. Smooth mouthfeel. Distinct notes of herbal hops in the fairly dry flavour too. This is a well hopped pilsener indeed.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Madla. ABV is 5.9%. Clear and deep reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head, nice lacing. Moderate aroma of brown malts, brown bread and some caramel. The flavour has fairly distinct caramel, but is not too sweet. Also notes of brown bread and nuts. Low bitterness. Not bad, but not exceptional.

The flavour is fairly complex, malty and slightly yeasty with notes of caramel, also distinct citric, spicy, piney and earthy hops.

Citric flavour, malts and yellow plums in the background, hints of kveik and resin, moderate bitterness. Fairly nice beer.

Aroma of melon, guava, papaya and mango, hints of citrus and spruce. Rich mouthfeel. Juicy and zesty flavour, some sweetness but not too much, with the same elements as the aroma, moderate bitterness. Dangerously drinkable for its strength.

Thick and warming mouthfeel. The flavour is a bit too far out on the sweet side, notes of brown sugar, malts, fruity hops (citrus, apricot, tropical fruits) and alcohol. Still eminently drinkable.

Fikk tatt en bitteliten smaksprøve av denne i dag, men det var nok til å fastslå at dette er et veldig godt øl! Deilig aroma av frisk appelsin, samt innslag av de fruktene som bryggeriet nevner ovenfor. Disse fruktene går igjen i smaken (de skyldes altså humletilsetningen, og ikke noen frukttilsetning!), men du får likevel en klar forståelse av at dette er et øl, og ikke et glass med fruktjuice. Humlebitterheten er moderat, men merkbar. Nam nam! Sampled again from tap at Mandag i Annen, Cardinal, Stavanger. I really like this one. The best in the Hop Tweak series from HaandBryggeriet so far?

375 ml bottle, 2024 vintage, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 7.1%. Murky yellow to orange colour, moderate white head. Nice aroma of brettanomyces / farmhouse, sour fruits, oak and scrumpy. Sour flavour, more of a gueuze than a saison IMO, notes of sour fruits (including lemon), lactic acid, oak and apple cider vinegar.

Fizzy and slightly citric mouthfeel. The flavour is medium sweet, with dominant caramel and yeast, also notes of pine and juniper twigs, bitter aftertaste. Too yeasty, won't buy again.

November 2021: 330 ml can, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Cloudy pale yellow colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of mango, lactose and vanilla. Flavour of citrus, mango and moderate vanilla, not too sweet. The lactose is very subdued. A slight hop bitterness in the finish. Nice and refreshing.
