2021: 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Madla. ABV is 9.5%. Clear pale golden colour, large white head. Aroma of spicy Belgian ale yeast and citrus, with a strange hint of broth. Citric mouthfeel, some warming alcohol. Flavour of spices, white kandij sugar and citrus. Bittering hops in the finish.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.5%. Clear pale yellow colour, briskly sparkling, moderate white head. Lovely aroma of herbal hops (Saaz, Styrian Goldings and Equinox), hints of citrus and spices. Refreshing despite its strength. Medium dry and crisp flavour, dominated by herbal and spicy hops, some alcohol. Medium bitter finish.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.5%. Hops are Saaz and Styrian Goldings, dryhopping with Mosaic. Nearly clear pale yellow colour, pours fizzy with large bubbles and a moderate coarse white head. Interesting complex aroma of fruity (tropical fruits, blueberries), grassy, herbal and spicy hops. The flavour is refreshing for a beer of this strength, is quite dry, and has moderate tropical fruits first, then distinct herbal and spicy hops throughout the finish and aftertaste.

330 ml bottle, now available in Norway at Vinmonopolet. ABV is 8%. Mahogany coloured beer, huge beige head. Moderate aroma, notes of caramel, brown malts, brown bread and dust, hints of marzipan. The flavour has notes of brown bread with hints of caramel, but this is probably the driest dubbel I have ever had. Dust in the finish, very moderate hops. The alcohol is well hidden - I would have guessed that this was a 5.5- 6% beer, not 8%. Definitely drinkable, but far from exciting.

The aroma has notes of Belgian ale yeast, some fruity and spicy notes, hints of brettanomyces / farmhouse. The flavour is sweet and spicy, noticeable hops in the finish. Quite good.

Intense aroma of raspberries (no surprise). The flavour is very sour with notes of lemons and raspberries, fairly dry and crisp.

Deep red colour, huge pink head. Intense aroma of ripe cherries, hints of red wine vinegar. Equally intense flavour of sour cherries, not as lemony as the Lou Pepe Framboise. Drank it a bit too cold, still refreshing and pleasant to drink.

Nice aroma of malts, caramel, brown sugar, mild spices and Belgian ale yeast. The flavour is malty with notes of toast and brown candi sugar, the finish is mildly spicy.

Spicy and moderately bitter finish.

Deep golden to orange colour, moderate off-white head.Beguiling complex aroma, notes of farmhouse, rustic kitchen, oxidised apples, apple cider vinegar and hops. The flavour is sour but not extreme, hints of oxidised apples and spices, unlike other lambics it also has a distinct hoppy bite in the finish. ~

Alcohol is well hidden. The flavour has the characteristic sharp bitterness of Nugget hops from start to finish. After a few beers of the "well rounded" and "fruity and acidic" kind, this was just what I needed. More "American" than Belgian, perhaps.

Awesome beer.

BB date end of 2007. Sediment in the bottle. Very pale and cloudy / milky straw coloured beer with a huge white head. Very nice wheaty, citrussy and spicy (cloves, coriander?) aroma. The flavour is distinctly spicy and wheaty with a quite rich mouthfeel, but also very refreshing. Spicy and hoppy bitter finish. An excellent beer in my book.

Dark brown coloured beer, huge tan head. Moderate aroma of malts with hints of red wine vinegar, caramel, oak and spices. Moderately malty flavour but fairly dry, with hints of oak and spices. Decent enough, but not worth the high price in Norway.
