August 2020: Shared bottle at Bryne tasting, as Frøya Jedinorog Imperial Stout. ABV is 12%. Black colour, small beige head. Aroma of roast malts, molasses, dark syrup. Smooth flavour, roasty, chocolate, caramel.

March 2019: 500 ml bottle, from Bris Ølutsalg, Jørpeland. ABV is 4.7%. Nearly black colour, large to moderate beige head. Moderate but nice aroma of moderately roast malts, black rye bread, liquorice and chocolate. Light bodied. Slightly dry flavour, with the same elements as the aroma. Lacks punch, but is not a bad beer.

500 ml bottle, as Grünerløkka Løkka Vestkyst II IPA, batch #715, from Vinmonopolet Odda. ABV is 6.5%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of orange marmalade, malts and dust. Flavour of bitter oranges, grapefruit, pine needles and resin. Sufficient malt base. Bitter aftertaste.

375 ml waxed top bottle, from Vinmonopolet Etne. ABV is 15.1%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Boozy aroma, notes of fusel, bourbon and raw alcohol, also notes of caramel and vanilla. Warming mouthfeel, low carbonation. Rich and very sweet flavour, notes of caramel, chocolate and vanilla, also bourbon and oak. Too sweet for me, won't buy again.

750 ml dark green corked & caged bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8%. Extremely pale straw colour, pours sparkling with a large but shortlived white head. Nice aroma of Gravenstein apples, a hint of sulphites. Fresh flavour of Gravenstein, semi-dry, pleasant to drink, a hint of sulphites again.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Odda. ABV is 5.2%, IBU 10. Slightly hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, butterscotch and seaweed. Flavour with the same elements, also hints of yellow plums. Minimal bitterness.

330 ml bottle, as Ægir Brageskål Jubileumsøl 15 år, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 12.5%. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate to small tan head. Intense aroma of salty liquorice, roast malts, caramel, oak and whisky. Sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma.

500 ml bottle, batch #228, from Nærbutikken, Åkrafjordtunet. ABV is 4.7%. Moderately hazy golden brown colour, moderate white head. Aroma of yeast, malts and red berries. The flavour is definitely too yeasty, tastes like the first time homebrew that the brewer tries to forget. Some malts, but the beer is not sweet. There are some hops too, but they kind of disappear in all the yeastiness.

October 2018: Shared 500 ml bottle, Golden colour, Aroma of fruity hops, notes of tropical fruits and citrus. Average hoppy flavour, but there are many contenders in this field.

July 2019: Shared bottle that had been opened a while. Amber colour. Aroma of pine and some fruit. Piney and grapefruity flavour, quite dry. Not really impressive.

500 ml bottle, as Vinje Hanahomen Pils, from Nærbutikken, Åkrafjordtunet. ABV is 4.7%. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, large white head. Aroma of yeast and pilsener malts, some floral notes. Fizzy and citric mouthfeel. Yeasty flavour with fairly distinct bittering hops in the finish.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 10%. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Small beige head. Aroma of salty liquorice and malts, disappointing. Warming mouthfeel. Sweet flavour, notes of malts, alcohol, aquavit spices, liquorice, caramel and oak.

500 ml bottle, from Nærbutikken, Åkrafjordtunet. ABV is 4.7%. Very pale golden colour, large white head. Pleasant aroma of herbal and floral hops. Crisp and dry flavour, decent herbal hops, bitter aftertaste.

330 ml can, from Nærbutikken, Åkrafjordtunet. ABV is 4.7%. Clear and very pale straw colour, sparkling, no head. Aroma of apples and sulphites. Thin mouthfeel. Moderately sweet flavour of apples and sulphites. Can not compete with Hardangergutane's stronger ciders.

June 2021: 750 ml clear bottle, kindly supplied by Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger, on my initiative. ABV is 4.7%. Clear and very pale straw colour, pours sparkling with a large white head that actually lasts a while. Pleasant aroma of sweet and sour apples. Pleasant, slightly sweet and refreshing flavour of dessert apples. Yummi - this is the real thing!

June 2021: 330 ml can, from Gulating ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Clear and very pale pink colour, moderately sparkling. Distinct aroma of raspberries, hints of apples, hardly any hints of pears. The flavour is fairly dry and crisp, notes of raspberries and apples, minimal notes of pears.

May 2020: 750 ml clear bottle, from Vinmonopolet Sauda. Apple cider with 5% blackcurrants. ABV is 10%. Clear red colour, pours sparkling, no head. Aroma of eating apples and blackcurrants, hints of hay. Flavour mainly of apples, moderate notes of blackcurrants. Some fruity sweetness, but not too much - still quite crisp. Decent as an aperitif, or with food. Well balanced, easy drinking.

330 ml can, from Nærbutikken, Åkrafjordtunet. ABV is 4.7%. Murky brownish-golden colour, moderate to small white head. Fruity aroma of kveik, with notes of yellow plums, also notes of juniper and pine. Citric flavour, followed by notes of juniper and resin, hints of yellow plums, distinct bitterness in the finish.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 11.8%. Black colour, large tan head. Aroma of molasses, alcohol and chocolate cake. The flavour is better than the aroma, distinct notes of roast malts, chocolate, coconut and vanilla. Moderate hops in the finish. Warming mouthfeel.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 11.8%. Black colour, large tan head. Aroma of roast malts, coconut, vanilla and coffee. Flavour with the same elements, some lactose, the sweetness is partly balanced by the coffee and moderate bittering hops.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Odda. ABV is 6%, IBU 45. Nearly clear golden colour, small white head. Nice aroma of pine and citrus, hints of tropical fruits. The flavour is not too sweet, again with notes of citrus and pine / resin, sufficient malts, and a well balanced bitterness in the finish.
