2876 | Ringnes Fatøl | Norway | Pale Lager | 2.2
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml can, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. Pale golden colour, decent head. Moderate sweetish and sugary aroma, notes of grass and boiled vegetables, not very attracive. Moderate sweetish flavour, minimal hops. Another boring beer from Ringnes. |

2877 | Munkholm Münchener | Norway | Reduced Alcohol | 1.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 500 ml can, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. This is not a "dark" n/a beer like the label says, it is a golden n/a beer, deep golden if you like. Fluffy white head. The aroma has some of the same sweetish and "boiled" notes of the other Munkholm beers (bad), but there are also some flowery aromatic hops around (good). Flavour is pretty sweet with some weak caramel notes, but there are just enough hops around to make the beer drinkable if cold. Hell, it’s a n/a beer, and you don’t expect much, but if you HAVE TO drive, or avoid alcohol of other reasons, this is the "best" Munkholm beer I’ve had so far. |

2878 | Ringnes Lite 4,5 | Norway | Light / Lite Lager | 2.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml can, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. Pale golden colour. Decent head. Sweetish "artificial" aroma, maize and some fruit, not very pleasant. Very light bodied, a little sweetness in the flavour with minimal hops, but not quite as bad as I expected from a low carb beer. |

2879 | Tuborg Lite 4,5 | Norway | Light / Lite Lager | 1.2
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 2 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 3 500 ml can, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. Very pale golden colour, fluffy head of moderate retention. "Artificial" sweet aroma, unpleasant. Incredibly boring flavour with "plenty of nothing". Even the new "Ringnes Lite" is slightly better than this. This is a low carb beer to forget! |

2880 | Berentsens Økologisk Pils | Norway | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml green bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. Pale golden colour, moderate head. Moderate aroma of fruity and floral hops. Clean pilsener taste, not very different from Berentsens Rogalands Pils (but this one is organic). Light bodied, tolerable hops. |

2881 | Mo Glad Laks | Norway | Light / Lite Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 On tap at the brewpub / farm "gasthof". Served by the brewer himself, I also had a brief look at the brewery. ABV is 3.75%. The only beer on at the moment, but "Mørk Suldøl" is also a regular and the low ABV "Slåttøl" is a summer seasonal. The farm / brewery is situated next to one of Norway’s best salmon rivers. "Glad Laks" (= Happy Salmon = Jolly Fellow) is a golden lager, slightly hazy with a moderate head. Pleasant but moderate malty aroma, hints of butterscotch, toffee and melons. Flavour and mouthfeel are rather weak, with too modest hops. Some "dusty" / "dry" hops in the aftertaste. I expect the "Mørk Suldøl" to be better than this. |

2882 | Mack Mørketidsøl | Norway | Pale Lager | 2.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml can, bought at Vaaland Spesialbutikken, Bryne. Golden colour, decent head. ABV is 4.7%. Over-boiled maize and vegetables in the aroma, a little caramel too. Thin and fizzy mouthfeel. Boring flavour - a little caramel, minimal hops. Yawn ... zzzzzz. |

2883 | Nøgne Ø God Påske 2007 | Norway | Belgian Ale | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 500 ml bottle, bottle conditioned. Orangey brown colour, moderate head. The first time I had it I found the aroma fairly moderate and slightly spicy with some fruit, the second time the lovely fruity hops came more in front. The pleasant flavour is nicely balanced: oak, fruit, spices, hoppy finish. Good beer! |

2884 | HaandBryggeriet Norwegian Wood | Norway | Smoked Ale | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, bottle conditioned. Brewed with juniper and smoked malts. Dark brown colour, creamy head. The aroma is dominated by smoke (beechwood?) and oak. The flavour is very smokey and woody, with notes of hickory and tar. Dry finish. |

2886 | Nøgne Ø Dark Horizon 001 | Norway | Imperial Stout | 4.8
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Bottle conditioned, at Ølkulinarisk Aften, Måltid restaurant, Kristiansand. This beer nearly left me speechless - I’d never have expected a 16% ABV beer to be this wonderful and well balanced. LOVELY aroma and flavour, where notes of oak, fortified wine, coffee and chocolate come in front. A great match with chocolate dessert, could probably also have been a great match with the very mature stilton cheese we had as the previous course (NØ Amber was a bit light-weight for the stilton IMO). |

2887 | Nøgne Ø Beyond The Pale Ale | Norway | IPA | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, at last! (my first bottle was stolen in a burglary in Göteborg) - thanks to yngwie and Venner av Nøgne Ø! Bottle conditioned, ABV is 5.9%, 70 IBU! This batch was originally a "brewing / hopping accident" (the batch was intended to be the "normal" Pale Ale) - with 70 IBU I guess this one should qualify as an IPA, or maybe even an Imperial IPA? Hazy golden colour, very cloudy in the end, decent head. Lovely hoppy aroma, with notes of citrus, apricot and pineapple, also notes of flowers. Moderate carbonation in the glass, initially a soft mouthfeel with a moderate sweetness, before the intense hoppy bitterness takes over and dominates the flavour throughout. Very bitter aftertaste. An interesting experience, but to be honest: this is too bitter for me! I prefer the "normal" pale ale. |

2888 | Atna Hjemmepåske-øl | Norway | Amber Ale | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 330 ml green bottle, ABV is 4.7%. A trade with Ole_R, thanks! Batch #47 from Atna. This is an ale brewed with 5 different types of malts, hopped with Amarillo a.o. Copper coloured, hazy, decent head. Moderate but pleasant fruity aroma, notes of raspberries, hints of oak, brown sugar and spices. The flavour is malty and fruity, soft and pleasant mouthfeel, decent hops in the finish. I like it! (The best I’ve had from Atna so far - haven’t had their Christmas beer, though.) |

2889 | Nydelige Lervig Sommerøl | Norway | Pale Lager | 1.5
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml can. ABV is 4.7%. New (2007) "summer" (= pale and thin) lager, brewed by Lervig in Stavanger, canned for them by Trio in Skien. Pale golden colour, fizzy, moderate head. Weak and slightly fruity aroma. Fizzy and thin mouthfeel. Bland and boring flavour. Come on, Lervig - you can do better than this! |

2890 | Ringnes Grill Pils | Norway | Pale Lager | 2.1
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330 ml can. ABV is 4.5%. Pale golden colour, decent head. Sweetish aroma with notes of flowers and corn. Light bodied, moderate carbonation. Very moderate malts and hops in the flavour, but not offensive. By no means a great beer, but not as bad as I feared. |

2891 | Aass Sommer-Uten | Norway | Reduced Alcohol | 1.5
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml bottle. Very pale golden colour, decent head. Relatively strong sweetish aroma of wort with some of the "boiled" notes of your typical n/a beer (over-boiled vegetables, grit), but I’ve smelled them worse - there are also some fruity notes. The flavour is slightly wheaty, light bodied of course, but there are also some hops in the finish. Not good, but I’ve had worse. |

2892 | Hansa Chill | Norway | Pale Lager | 2.3
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 4 330 ml slimline can. "To be served at 0 degrees C" = on the verge of freezing, which says a lot about Hansa’s ambitions with this beer. Defiantly I drank the beer at normal fridge temperature - and it was somewhat better than I feared! Pale golden colour, head goes from huge to none. Moderate fruity aroma. Fairly clean pilsener flavour, slightly lemony, hints of alcohol, very moderate hops. Moderate carbonation, soft mouthfeel. I’ve had worse beers - at least this one is drinkable. |

2893 | Aass Gourmet Lys Hvete | Norway | Krystal Weizen | 2.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml green bottle. Clear golden colour, large white head. Grainy aroma with notes of over-boiled vegetables, nearly like a n/a beer. The flavour is somewhat better, some wheaty and lemony notes. Very moderate hops. Drinkable, but not impressive at all - a "gourmet" would ask for something better than this. |

2894 | Aass Gourmet Pale Ale | Norway | English Pale Ale | 3.2
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml green bottle. Copper coloured beer, large off-white head with an orange hue. Moderate aroma of malts, caramel and some "dusty" hops. Hints of artificial candy and cooked vegetables. Moderate carbonation, soft mouthfeel. The flavour has some fruitiness and a considerable sweetness, notes of caramel, grit and cooked vegetables. Very moderate hops in the finish. Nice try, but not impressive. |

2895 | Aass Gourmet Stout | Norway | Stout | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml green bottle. Very dark reddish brown colour (not entirely black), fine tan head. Moderate but pleasant aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and wood. Soft and smooth mouthfeel. The roastiness in the flavour is very moderate for a stout, some coffee notes, there is also a noticeable fruitiness with a light acidity. Easy drinking. Not the greatest stout in the world, but a nice try from Aass. |

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml can, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Opaque and murky pale yellow colour, large white head. Pleasant aroma of various citrus fruits and tropical fruits, also hints of sprucetips. The flavour is not too sweet, but has the same elements as the aroma, ending in a rather sharp and dry bitterness. |
